Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great dog friendly inn/hotel with good service . Good choice of real ale and great food. Room was very comfy. We were there for World Cup rugby and we were able to watch the matches in the skittle alley leaving the main bar TV free. Good walking from the door.

Great stay in a lovely pub. Our family room was huge with a queen sized bed, single bed and sofa bed. Room was clean, spacious and modern. En-suite was also huge. Staff were friendly and helpful. Evening meal was great. Breakfast the next morning was cooked to order with a good choice. I would definitely recommend this place and would happily stay there again.

Stayed here for a couple of nights on a recent vacation. Was a family suite that was VERY spacious, especially compared to the other places we stayed in England. Very clean, very friendly staff. Bathroom was great size as well. Bed was too firm for us, but since that is subjective I am not going to deduct anything for that. This was the place our daughter actually picked when looking at places to stay, she has a good eye! Nice location, we used it as a base for some countryside traveling. We were EXTREMELY happy with the accommodations, would absolutely recommend. We unfortunately had to check out a day early due to an emergency, which was definitely a bummer as we loved the place.

We have just spent 5 nights at this superb Inn. The superior room was spacious and the decor was outstanding. The huge bed was so comfortable the room was equipped with lots of hanging space and shelving. Cleaned with fresh towels everyday made our stay perfect. The breakfast menu has lots off choice and is a delicious start to the day. Tracey was always so welcoming in the mornings with my pot of Earl Grey. She is very knowledgeable about the area and I always find the local people know the best places to visit there hidden gems I call it. The evening menu is fantastic and the staff are so polite and helpful nothing is to much trouble. The Inn itself is so clean inside and out with plenty of free parking around. I would recommend you do the strawberry line walk it was so scenic and a beautiful and informative walk.

Booked this pub through booking.com.it said I had to check in before 9pm. However our flight was due in at 12.30am. We were even later than that (2.00am). We were able to let ourselves in with key left in key safe. Lovely room, comfy bed and pillows. Clean bedroom and bathroom, tea/ coffee making facilities, hair dryer.. everything you need to finish off perfect holiday. Great breakfast added bonus.

From start to finish the Staff we’re so friendly and helpful, it was a hot day and we had our small dog with us, who was offered a bowl of water before we even checked in !! We liked it so much we stayed a further night in that week on our way back from the south west, and we have already booked again for December. On our second stay we had dinner which was good, and breakfast was excellent. Great find

Pretty standard pub food and reasonable choice and prices are I thought high. Service and staff are good. There is plenty of demand locally for a decent restaurant which sadly is not found in local pubs.

We stayed here overnight as a small group of cyclists on a cycle tour holiday in the region. We were very well looked after from the moment we arrived and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a secure place to lock our bikes overnight which we very much appreciated. The rooms were clean and good value. We enjoyed having dinner in the restaurant and there was a good selection of meals on the menu. Out of all the places we stayed during our week’s cycling holiday this Inn came out as the best accommodation overall. If arriving by bike it is situated conveniently very close to the Strawberry Line on the national cycle network.

The staff were really helpful and friendly. We had dinner there which was excellent and the breakfast was also extremely good. The room was very nice. The room and the bathroom were both much bigger than average hotel rooms and there was lots of space to put everything. I did think the place needed a maintenance man to fix little things: The blind in the bedroom pulled down but there was no way of making it go up again. The bar that the shower head sits on came off the wall when I touched it. The bed was ok, but not the most comfortable. Overall this is a nice place
