I cannot believe this place isn’t busier - we were so lucky to have it to ourselves for a night and are still pinching ourselves. Yes - it’s not AS fancy as some of the other basecamp camps, but it is definitely not camping by any means. The tent does not feel like a tent and is as well put together as a lux hotel room, the bed is super comfy - it has an ensuite. You have to warn the staff if you need a shower and they will sort the hot water, but that is the only thing that reminds you that you’re in the bush! The setting is unbelievably - the food is great. And there was nothing that could top sitting by the fire at night. Thank you especially to Dorcas and Johnson who made our stay so special - as well as David our tour guide who helped us spot a Leopard on our way to airport! I hope we’re lucky enough to come back. …

Everything about wilderness camp was far above expectations. Starting with the staff, they were friendly, polite and focused on making our experience perfect. We felt very spoiled. Moving to accommodation, the camp has been recently renovated. Tents are high quality and beds are very comfortable. In general, every item is finely chosen to offer a good -taste luxury experience. Last, the guide made our safari experience very special. We enjoyed private tours of the conservation with a well informed and friendly masai local. He cares about nature and about making guests feel welcomed. Overall, we are very impressed and happy with the wilderness camp experience. Thank you! Alina & Vlad

We were extremely lucky to spend 2 nights at Wilderness without any other guests. The camp is small in any case (8 tents I believe), and our family of 4 had 2, so it felt like a private safari. Lions roared around our tents at night, the Maasai guards armed with spears give us comfort. The walking safari in the morning spectacular. We almost managed to find lions by following their trail in the morning dew. The tents are wonderful. The central tent is straight out of Out of Africa!

We had a wonderful stay in the wilderness camp. We was taken care of from landing in Nairobi to takeoff from Nairobi. We stayed in the camp for 4 nights. The quality of the tents extended all our expectations. The location of the camp is unique. One day we saw a geopad hunting while we where eating lunch. We felt very close to the animals, but also super safe. The walking safari was also a highlight. The food we got was so good, much better than the food we got in a 5-star hotel-resort in Mombasa. The chefs deserve real boat! Our guide name Bonny was really extraordinary. He was with us every day, and became a good friend. His driving skills and knowledge about the animals made it a experience we will never forget. Thank you! The days where full of activities, and their slogan "come as a guest, leave as a friend" is actually true. Would recommend wilderness camp to everyone!…

Visited Masai Mara in january 2020. Lived at Wilderness Camp for four nights. The Wilderness Camp is very nice because of the short distance to the animals. We saw a Chita hunting from our lunchtable! The food was amazing. We came from a five star hotel in Diani Beach and the food at Wilderness Camp was much better. Our guide was Bonny and he was very much the best! You should ask for him as your guide. We had five perfect days with Basecamp Explorer. It blew our high expectations.

Stayed just one night, wish it had been two. This camp is simple but extremely comfortable. Nice furniture in the tent and dining room, full bathroom in tent. The main difference is tents are on the ground and not built on platforms like other camps. It is closer to really fancy camping, which I really liked. This camp feels much more relaxed, and they are not trying so hard to be fancy for the tourists. The guys working in the camp were super friendly and relaxed. The Masai staff felt like they could be more authentically themselves and wanted to just hang out with us by the campfire. Food was outstanding. When we departed, we walked to the next camp, Eagleview, and the walk took about an hour. It was really fun. It’s good to support wilderness camp and Base Camp company because it’s a community project so the jobs and money benefits the local community. They are doing great work. We saw all the wildlife right on the Conservancy, including lions , cheetah, elephants, hippos and much more.…

Words cannot say what a great experience this was. I wasn't sure about going at first, but I am so grateful my wife talked me into it! I had no expectations at all before the trip and it turned out to be the best vacation I've ever had! People were so friendly and hospitable, you could not ask for more. The animals and landscapes were amazing! This is one bucket list item I would do over and over!

Camphouses in the middle of the wilderness without any fence but very good attended by Masai people. Good kitchen and cuisine - nothing was missing. Most impressive the overwelming friendlyness of all staff - its like your coming home

I had the very great pleasure of staying at wilderness camp and loved every second of it. The surroundings were breathtaking and the staff could not have been more friendly. We were made to feel very welcome, in fact the staff could not do enough to help us. The kitchen staff managed to accommodate my complex dietary needs better than any restaurant I've been to in the uk. We had a wonderful safari guide called Jacob who kept us entertained whilst driving us around the beautiful Masai Mara. His knowledge of the area was outstanding and we saw many beautiful animals I cannot reccommend this venue enough.
