From the moment you arrive Kathrin, Tarkan and the rest of the staff will do anything to ensure that their guests have a fantastic holiday. Unfortunately our baggage didn't arrive with us (due to a power failure at Schiphol a big part of the baggage didn't make it to the plane in

When you get off the boat and walk up the jetty on Nabucco there is a sign that says “welcome to paradise”. Everything about our week on the island certainly lived up to that greeting. Tarkan, Kathrin and the whole team worked tiressley and cheerfully to provide excellent accommo

Thank you Tarkan and the team. We had a wonderful time. Accommodation, food and service were all great. The boat team were great and nothing was too much trouble. Don't worry if you don't get Big Fish Country right first time, the joy is doing it a few times.

My wife and I were there for a whole week. Not diving, but just relaxing, exploring and snorkling. And what a trip! We have been around a lot of Indonesia, but this place blew our minds! Will come back for sure! Special thanks to Kathrin, Tarkan, Florian and all the super attenti

Reaching the Island
To the east off the coast of Borneo/Kalimantan, the third largest island in the world, lies the Maratua Atoll with its long stretched lagoon. Nabucco Island Resort is located on the edge of the Maratua Atoll. There are actually 2 options to reach the Maratua A

Hi We're travelling to Maratua next Jully with my girlfriend, and we'd like to stay in one of Maratua's homestays but dive with Nabucco Resort's staff. Is it possible to do that from a homestay at Payung-payung or Bohe-silian? I mean... where do we have to join the boat of the resort? and when? How long does it take from any of thoses villages to the jetty where we should join the boat?Do we need to rent a scooter for that purpose or is it possible to do it on foot or by bicycle? If we do have to stay in the resort to dive with them... is there any chance to go to Maratua when not diving for some hours, in order to visit the forest, lakes, and beaches? And one final question: we've reserved some 5 to 6 days for Maratua... how many dives would you consider the appropriate number for Maratua's area? Thank you very much for your attention and help ;)
Goodmorning, I've read on internet that regualr cheap boat to Maratua Island exists. It's the boat from Tanjung Redeb Harbor (Berau Coal) and not speed boat from Tanjung Batu. It costs 250.000 IDR- 500,000 IDR one way per person. I don't find too much info. Who's travelled by boat from Tanjung Redeb Harbor?
Is it possible to sail to the whale shark point to dive with them? how about the extra charge and seasonality? Wonder whether full-moon days would be possible to spot whale sharks
buongiorno. quali sono le escursioni proposte dal resort?
Dear 81erin, Nabucco/ Extra Divers offers diving and snorkeling trips around the Maratua Atoll and Sangalaki (mantas) and Kakaban (jellyfish lake), so you get to see the best reefs of the area and a nice mix of marine life. The famous channel Big Fish Country is less than 5mins from Nabucco. Also land trips to Maratua can be arranged. By yourself you can explore the reef around the jetty (snorkeling) and the surrounding sandbanks in the turquoise lagoon from the resort.

Dear Sabrina, you can arrive to Nabucco now conveniently with the new Extradivers charter flight Balikpapan-Maratua every Saturday. For more information please send an email to Nabucco. Alternatively, boat transfers from Berau can be arranged as well.
