We booked a room through an online booking agent for a Saturday night. Immediately after confirmation we called and booked a table for 9 people for lunch on the Sunday, explaining we had a room booked and the table was for an 80th Birthday get together for family travelling some distance. We asked could they do something special. We were...

Nice friendly atmosphere. Went here for a date at around 7pm on a Sunday night. Table was booked and were shown to it right away. Staff friendly although took some time to bring drinks etc (not very busy) were polite enough though. Food was average, was expecting slightly better. However nice enough experience, would try again.

First time me and the girlfriend had ever stayed somewhere. Was very good. Nice people..breakfast was fantastic. Everything was clean. Just one thing. We booked for a double room and it was two single matresses and could feel the ridge, no biggie though. Will definitely stay again. Lovely location.

A party of around 20 people booked for a meal on Saturday evening, we were asked to pre choose our meals as there were so many of us, on arrival the choices were confirmed. Some people had to wait over 45 mins after the rest of us were served for their starters, which when arrived the soup had a visible...

We visited the Boatyard last Saturday to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had not previously booked and as there were seven in the party we thought it might cause a problem about seating. Nothing was further from the truth, we were greeted by the friendly staff who quickly arranged for two tables to be put together. The food was very...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This place is temporarily closed due to a fire. It will reopen when repairs are complete. Our canalside location is a winner in the sunshine - sit back and relax with a long, cool drink as you watch the narrowboats float quietly by. And if the weather's not quite so pleasant, we've got loads of room inside with a choice of comfy sofas or dining chairs and tables. With great value food made on-site from locally sourced ingredients, our menu has something for everyone and the quality of our food is superior. Our bar has four beers on hand pump and we've got a great selection of lagers, cider, wines and soft drinks. And there's no rush to drive home after an evening at The Boatyard - why not stay in one of our six recently decorated and well appointed rooms. Then wake up to a hearty breakfast and grab a latte in our coffee shop before leaving. ... more   less
