This was a first trip to Borneo for us and the only glitch was not the fault of the hotel but rather the agent who booked a mini-bus from the local 'Destination Services' team to meet us at the airport on our flight in from Hong Kong. After 30 minutes and no show we began to get a bit worried,...

Great hotel in lovely location. Excellent staff who could not have done more for us. Would recommend this hotel. We upgraded to Ocean Wing on arrival, which was worth it for the fantastic room and exclusive use of some of the hotel facilities. Nice touches like complementary Iced water and snacks on the beach. Overall a great hotel with staff...

The Rasa Ria really is a stunning resort, from the moment you arrive you are treated to the spectacular views of the sea and the magnificent garden surrounds. Our room in the garden wing was spacious, comfortable with private balcony, air conditioning, cleaning and maintenance was of a high standard. We tried the Oceano, Naan and Tepi Laut restaurants, all...

The only disappoint, net was that the best restaurant, Coast, has been closed. Everything else was as good as we remembered it. the staff are all delightful, the accommodation everything you could ask and the quality and variation of the food means you are never at a loss for somewhere to eat. There is tennis and sailing, donkeys and archery, diving...

I have just returned home from a fantastic 9 night stay at Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort & Spa in kota kinabalu, Borneo. I was apprehensive about going as it was a 13 hour flight plus an extra 2.5 hours flying to kota kinabalu. But it was so worth it. We arrived at the Rasa Ria Shangri la hotel at 12:00pm...

This is a beautiful and well maintained property. It is a bit far from town but the suited us fine. The staff at the hotel were terrific and very helpful. The grounds were beautiful and the room had a magnificent view. We found this place relaxing and enjoyed ourselves. Take the canopy walk which is adjacent to the hotel. Sharon...

This is probably the best resort we ever stayed in (and we have stayed in quite some). Super rooms - super restaurants - fantastic staff and atmosphere. Breakfast was a huge buffet with everything and then some. Rooms were spacious and nice (and we did not even stay in the Ocean wing which is supposed to be even better !!)....

We stayed at this hotel as part of s trip to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We started in the Garden wing which was impressive but then moved to the Ocean wing where the rooms are luxurious. Bufffets are not bad with wide variety of choice but don't recommend Japanese restaurant. Staff are very helpful and always willing to help...

We have stayed at 7/8 Shangri-La hotels around the world and find them to be very good. This place is more like a holiday camp. The Ocean wing 5th floor rooms are very good, but the remainder is not of the standard you would expect with this group. Breakfast is a total shambles the staff, well intentioned as they are...
