Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort & Spa is set on Pantai Dalit beach surrounded by 400 acres of lush tropical vegetation, including a unique nature reserve. Here you'll find a remarkable array of indigenous flora and fauna. Unexpected encounters with hornbills who glide right overhead during breakfast, a friendly bear cat greeting you from a tree or the occasional wild rabbit, iguana or squirrel crossing your path are all part of the magic of this remarkable resort. Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort & Spa goes beyond the offerings of Kota Kinabalu hotels by providing numerous options for relaxation. This includes the magnificent Spa at Dalit Bay, a wide range of water sports, Rasa Ria's own catamarans for cruises and deep sea fishing, a challenging 18-hole championship golf course, tennis, horse riding, a fitness centre and, of course, a fun-filled Kids' Club to care for younger visitors.

We came here to celebrate my son's n husband's birthday and I requested if they could prepare a complimentary birthday cake for them. Was quite surprised to hear that we can only get a slice of cake from the restaurant when we dine there. My daughter's birthday is in December n

Dear Kiong, Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us from your recent stay and for celebrating he birthday of your husband and son with us. I am surprised to read your review as our team love to celebrate and help our guests to create memories of milestones and birthday's, so I will need to follow-up on what happened during your stay. We have many activities for families and children inside the resort with the focus on our outdoor areas, including the newly opened Adventure Point playground and Discovery Centre. At the same time we will always continuously improve what we have to offer and I am very pleased to share we will relaunch a new activity and room sometime towards the end of April. I do hope you will consider to stay with us again in the near future or to celebrate another birthday soon. Best regards, Fiona Hagan

We absolutely loved our stay at this resort which is about 45mins drive from KK city. It’s a great retreat away from the hustle bustle of city living. This resort is equipped with plenty of activities for both young and old! The last time we stayed was during our honeymoon and

Fantastic resort, even though all inclusive options would have been desirable. We ate Naan Indian restaurant 3 out of 4 nights, very tasty! The resort lies just next to Rasa Ria reserves, with plenty of exciting adventures!

This is a really lovely hotel but please be aware that if you are a person that likes to sit on the beach this is not for you. The beach is beautiful but is a long way to get to the sea. Also, there are lots of jelly fish so you cannot swim in the sea. Food is good but it does

Dear Hoganlovells1, Thank you for taking the time to share with us your review on TripAdvisor from your recent stay with us. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay with us overall and mentioned our Naan and Kozan restaurants. It does concern me that you have mentioned the billing in the Venues and the service of our staff around the pool side, this is something that we need to address. We do have full and half board options available through our Agents, though based on your feedback this is something that we can consider to extend to our guests at the point of arrival. Its surprising to read your feedback mentioned by other guests who have taken the day trip to Sepilok. I meet many guests in the resort and whilst it is a long day it also is a highlight and often one of the most favourite experiences. Thank you again, I hope you will continue to travel to Malaysia and explore more destinations. Best Regards, Fiona Hagan

We were half board. Ate in the Indian restaurant every night using the allowance.

Full board is buffet breakfast every day and buffet dinner, For lunch you have access to most restaurants in the hotel except the japansese and indian. They is a 100 RM per day per person limit. The alcohol is chargeable, but the soft drinks included in the per day rate. The 100 is sufficient to cover a meal easily, the Dalit Gold restaurant is cheaper and equally good. My own suggestion is take just breakfast. This gives you flexibility to take the shuttle to town and eat at different places. There is a clam fish center a couple of km form the hotel. or if you wish just pay and eat in a la carte.

Do I have to book for the cultural dinner and how much is it and what food is served?
It is advisable to book. The food is set out like hawker stalls with a wide variety of different food. I am vegetarian and there was plenty for me.

It's about $65 AUD per person and it's a smorgasbord/buffet style with different food stations.
