We stayed for a week in Mill Race cottage and could not fault it. It was warm, spacious, comfortable and exceptionally well equipped with many thoughtful touches. It is well placed for exploring the Northumberland coast and inland. It’s position overlooking Brunton Burn is wonderful for watching lots of wildlife and we were particularly fortunate to see a couple of dippers feeding at the water’s edge. The dark sky at night provides a spectacular view of the Milky Way. All in all a very special cottage.

Dear Rosemary and Peter Thank you so much for your glowing review. Northumberland skies are truly amazing aren't they - especially now we have the log amphitheatre for stargazing on warmer nights. I'm so glad I bumped into you too (just as you made your first catch!) - I've missed meeting guests during these strange times. Please come back and visit us again - that monster in the lake is waiting for you ;-). Warm regards Chris

We had an autumn stay in Stable Cottage, which was a delight. The house is beautifully presented and very comfortable indeed. The beds are huge and luxurious, the kitchen generously and elegantly equipped. There was delicious fresh food and drink in the fridge when we arrived. The experience of being here made me plan upgrades to our decor at home. The area around Brunton is another highlight, obviously, The coastal walks - Bamburgh, Seahouses, Dunstanburgh, Craster, Budle Bay - are some of the best in the country. Lindesfarne is visible, the Farne Islands accessible by boat from Seahouses. We went to Howick Hall's gardens but sadly not Alnwick, so we're already planning to come back.

Dear Becca Thank you for your lovely words and it so good that you mention our location aswell. Brunton is in such a great spot isn't it? And Alnmouth station being only 20 mins away makes it so accessible also, and good for journeys into Newcastle. Please do come back soon. Best wishes Lucia

Dear Jill We are so pleased that you had such a special time at Brunton House. Not easy at this moment to plan to get away - but you did it! I believe you might also have made the most of being by the sea and gone swimming - very impressive in October and you must therefore come in the summer when it might be even better. Best wishes Lucia s

We stayed here for a weekend recently to attend a family wedding and loved Stable Cottage. It was so well equipped, homely, well furnished with a fully enclosed garden. The cottage was spotlessly clean and attention to detail very impressive. An ideal house for a family or group of friends. Dogs also welcome with perfect facilities for them too with a large utility/boot room. One of the best self catering cottages we have stayed in. Well done Chris and your team-you've thought of everything.

We stayed at Mill Race for 3 nights recently. This was a first class cottage, 2 bedrooms and beautiful open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen with lovely view over the garden, water and fields. This makes any stay in the accommodation very relaxing and every need is met with the kitchen, especially, being very well equipped. There are so many signs around the property of the thought and care that has been given to make guests comfortable here. Everything possible has been done to make the cottage Covid-19 safe and the instructions for guests are clear and straightforward, certainly not dominating the stay in any way but at the same time reassuring. We stayed here for a small family wedding and it was an unforgettable experience. Chris and her team were exemplary and anyone wishing to plan a small wedding here need not hesitate. Brunton House and cottages is an ideal place.
