After a difficult few weeks we arrived hoping for relaxation and peace we got that in spades! The cottages are in an idyllic location we stayed in Brunton burn on entering I was emotional it is truly lovely. This is high end luxury attention to detail is everywhere from the lovely locally sourced welcome pack to the white company toiletries. We were just unpacking when there was a knock at the door a member of the team was stood with hand picked lily of the valley flowers how lovely. The area is beautiful embleton beach a short drive away what a beautiful beach with far reaching views. We will definitely return if we can get in as it’s very popular! Thank you for letting us stay in your little piece of heaven.

Property's Favourite Review
We stayed at Swallow Rise, a luxurious, well appointed cottage , yet still homely and relaxing, located on a peaceful, very well maintained estate of cottages set in beautiful countryside. It was an ideal venue for exploring the nearby Northumberland coastal area. We highly recommend this cottage.

Our week in Brunton burn was wonderfully relaxing - from days spent at the cottage listening to and watching the burn waterfalls and resident birdlife; to walks around the fallodon estate and nearby beaches which stretch for miles. The cottage was lovely and ending the day curled up in front of the wood burner playing scrabble was a great way to end the day

As a group of old Uni friends, we have been renting houses in the UK for New Year week every year for over 20 years - since before all our children were born. Brunton House is by far and away the very best house we have ever stayed in. It was a hit with both the young (Uni age) and old (er!) By tradition, we visit a different area/ house every year. Not any more… we will definitely be returning to Brunton! It is not just the location (perfect for stunning beaches, castles, hill walking, fascinating history etc.), or the size / number and quality of rooms (no negotiation over the bedroom allocation this year)…It is also the fact that so much thought has been put into making it a perfect and charming country home, with fun touches and everything you could possibly need. The information provided about the house, things to do and local services is incredibly useful, easy to navigate, and clearly benefits from the Estate owners’ deep knowledge and love of the area. All in all it made it a very special visit. A big thank you to Lucia, Mark, Chris and the team

From the moment we arrived the cottage was warm and inviting. A welcome pack and some fruit and wine. The bedroom was spacious and the bed SO comfortable with quality bedding. Each room had its own thermostat to set to your liking. The shower was brilliant and plenty of hot water. The Lime and Bay White Company toiletries are now on my Christmas list as they smelt lovely. Kitchen was well equipped. The lounge was very comfortable. Only used the log burner once it got too hot alongside the underfloor heating. The wifi was good. Parking nearby. It has a drop off area so you need to carry your luggage several yards to the cottage. It was all very clean. We have stayed at Stable cottage before with friends as it’s a bigger cottage. Some cottages allow dogs Swallow Dean does not. I would have no hesitation in recommending Brunton Cottages but they always seem to be fully booked. I would love to return again.

We visited Brunton Cottages with my parents and enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay in Brunton Lake Cottage. The cottage was beautifully decorated and very well equipped as well as being easily accessible for my parents. The welcome pack, which included bread, butter, milk, wine and fruit was very much appreciated and the flowers were a lovely touch. The views from the cottage are beautiful and we also enjoyed the local walks. We will definitely be back, hopefully for a little longer next time.

Our family group of fifteen had a lovely long weekend here - three generations celebrating various birthdays from 18 to 80. Superb property, immaculately maintained with well chosen furniture, rugs, paintings, books and ornaments designed to give a comfortable country house ambience. Most bedrooms have en-suites; public rooms are of various sizes to suit whole group or smaller rooms appropriate for tv or table games while the pool table was a great asset. Big Aga in main kitchen plus gas cooker in second kitchen. Lots of glasses, plates, cutlery etc. Dogs allowed and grounds are excellent for walks, but they are restricted to a couple of store rooms at rear of house behind a low wooden gate - dry and warm but isolation a bit harsh on a family pet used to company! Other than a somewhat lonely spaniel the rest of us had a splendid stay at Brunton House and can recommend it highly.

Wow 🤩, thank you so much! You've encapsulated the house so well and we're really glad it looked after your 2 legged guests so well. We are dog owners and lovers ourselves, sadly that is not the case for all of our guests - especially those with allergies. Hence we have to request that dogs remain in the uncarpeted back porch, drying room, larder and kitchens in Brunton House. We do hope you'll understand. We'd love to welcome you back again, perhaps to one of the smaller properties where dogs are welcome in all living areas. Warmest wishes Chris

Can’t fault it , of all the places we have stayed we have never stayed anywhere near the high standard & quality of Brunton cottages. Everything has been thoroughly thought through and has been well designed .The king size beds are so comfortable as were the sofas . We stayed in Mill Race for 3 nights and don’t want to leave . Thank you for the lovely welcome pack you left us especially the delicious butter ,we hope to be back one day .
