Myself and my daughter just came back from holiday to Turkey about 2 weeks ago. We booked this hotel based on the good reviews and the ambiance we could perceive through the pictures. We were well delighted . The hotel is beautiful. The staff were nice and most of the time tried to be friendly ( we were not given a champagne reception as promised). I have an allergy to MSG and was not sure how I would cope in an all inclusive environment, as we usually book hotels with apartments because of this issue. I told reception about my allergy and was sent to customer relations, who researched online and wrote out a card for me to hand to the restaurant staff before every meal. To my amazement, I was given a tour of the cooked food by the chef or sous chef on production of this card every time. They would tell me what to eat and what not to eat. They were absolutely brilliant. I cannot thank them all enough. I wanted my daughter to stop missing out on the 'all inclusive holiday' experience and had braced myself for a week of bread and cheese to be safe but this was far from the case. Most restaurants here in England never even try to understand what MSG is or how they can help. There was a massive selection of foods ( fresh and cooked) and I was glad to find out that most of their foods were not bulked up with flavour enhancers. The desert section has many artistic pieces made with all sorts. I saw many tourist filming the section. The beach area has a shuttle to and fro. Loads of water activity and more food and snacks to be had. I would recommend this hotel to everyone

Hotel's Favourite
This is a great hotel for families of all ages, we’ll highlight some of the pros and cons of this hotel. As you may know the hotel has 1 (lovely) pool out the front of the hotel that the pool view rooms look on to. But the main pool area is a 10 min walk (waiting for lights as you cross a main road) or you wait for the shuttle bus, which is a medium sized bus and there are 2 of them going around most of the time so you never wait more than 5 mins and the journey time is less than 5 mins (most spent waiting for the lights to cross the main road). The good thing about Wet N Wild being a shuttle bus journey away is there is less of a rush for sunbeds in the morning. The first bus leaves at 8am and Wet N Wild technically doesn’t open until then but the gates are open so you can enter before. We would typically walk out the main hotel reception and walk down to the main road, cross the road and after 2 mins walking you will see Wet N wild. If you get in before 8am you will pretty much have first choice on the beds (How German of me). You can then get the bus back as everyone else is arriving and get breakfast. Top tip the towel desk at Wet N Wild doesn’t open until 0800 ish so change your towels the night before – towel desk closes about 1700 at Wet N Wild but often open until 1800 at main pool. The pool with the speakers is where the entertainment team base themselves throughout the day with music and games going on, so if you want it a bit quieter go to another pool or down to the beach. Floor is very hot so if you have young children may be better going on the lawn near the splash park, so they don’t burn their feet. There is room for 2-3 pushchairs on the bus, but we found it a bit of drag having to get the bus all the time. As with many European, busy, all-inclusive hotels it seems it’s only British guests that queue and wait their turn. This is not the hotels’ fault, and you will find this everywhere. Be prepared though, it can start to run you up the wrong way. There are 6 lifts in the main block in 2 locations, but they’re not very big and at busy times you will wait a while for lifts and there are 7 floors so if you’re on one of the lower floors by the time the lift gets to you it is often full – expect ‘other’ guests to shove their way to the front of the queue for lifts, buffet food stations and the queue for the shuttle bus. Best for your blood pressure to either let it go or call them out on it, but not let it bubble under and ruin your holiday – we’ve seen this everywhere. Restaurants: Main Buffet for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Breakfast total chaos, but no queue to get in and you can normally find a table – they open different areas as it gets busier. The fight for food is real though, like pigs at the trough! Only 2 x toasters and the hotel was full when we were there so that is approx. 2500 people for breakfast. Lunch at the buffet is much better as most people are over at the Main pool (called wet n wild), this could be worth getting the shuttle bus back for as the 2 x snack places at Wet N Wild are chaos. You can also get jacket potatoes and those Turkish style meat pancake things at Wet N Wild and just eat at your sunbed to avoid chaos. Dinner at the buffet we didn’t do as we booked the A la Carte restaurants. There is: Turkish Chinese (Asian) Italian Steak Fish – closed when we were there International – free if staying 7 days or more. It is 20EUR per adult and 5EUR per child surcharge – this does mean that you should be able to book into them every night if you wish and they only accept several tables, so it is much less chaotic. The steak restaurant is double the surcharge 40EUR for an adult and 10EUR for a child. Times are generally only 1915, 1930, 1945 for A la Carte’s. All at main building except Steak (above lunch snack bar) and International (is the lunch snack bar in evening). The service at the A la Carte restaurants is not the best. You often get hurried into placing food order (and expect to decide everything including desserts there and then) and the first appetizers normally arrive before your drinks. That said the food is generally pretty good. We didn’t have a good experience at the Steak restaurant as the food was cold, the steaks were not cooked how we ordered them, and the quality of the meat was poor, so we refused to pay the extra extra surcharge and the Guest Services Manager agreed to removing half the A la Carte cost. There is a Starbucks coffee place on basement floor near all shops but always long queues. On this floor too you have a Spa, Cinema (films are shown at 1500 and 2100 each day) and games centre for kids. There is also a ‘secret’ 24 bar down a corridor towards the meeting rooms that is not really advertised. Lobby bar in main hotel is open until 2330 I think, then there is a club from 2300-0100. Over Wet N Wild they have a mini disco at 2030 until 2115 and then the kids club is open so guests can use their park and do activities. The fairground rides are open from 1930 (I think) and close at 2130 when the main show starts as the entertainment staff run the rides. Shows are generally quite good, but you will need to be down before 2130 to get any sort of seats and the bar is very busy (use the beach the bar). Candy Floss and popcorn is available but at a small charge which I think is poor this should just be thrown in for the kids as other hotels in the area do as quite a faff to get cash for the kids to go and get some. Beach is very good, you can always get sunbeds down there at any time of the day, 2 piers and the watersports centre which covers 3 hotels. They’re very busy but have some good stuff. 45EUR for 10 min jet-ski, 80EUR for 20mins and more for the jet ski style cars. Drinks at all the bars are very good, queues are not bad at all and the staff are good. Entertainment team are very good, always coming round to chat and not too busy, they really get everyone going and are a credit to the hotel. They have servers on roller blades who will come round and take drinks orders from you at both pools. We had mixed issues with our rooms (3 x rooms including 1 two-bedroom family one). The 2-bed family room is lovely, very spacious with pool view balcony and inside jacuzzi (not sure if all family rooms have this). No complaints about our room. Others in our party were not so lucky, their bed was not often made, glasses, cups not cleared, floor dirty and a lamp didn’t work and even after asking twice no one replaced the bulb. The air-conditioning is a bit hit and miss. Set it to 16 and high fan, but it will time off after 8-12 hours so good idea to switch it off then on again before going to sleep and before going out for the day, so you don’t wake up or return to a roasting hot room because it timed off just after you went to sleep or left (ask how we know!). Air-con in the inside areas either struggles to cope or gets intermittently switched off, not sure which. It is cooler than outside but sometimes not by much. Spa is good, you can negotiate very good package deals. We paid 60EUR for a 1-hour hammam wash and a 1-hour massage. They will then try to sell you more treatments on a different day if you’re interested – negotiate! The shops in the hotel are good if you like fake bags, clothes, watches etc or there is a small mall – in the next building to the east of the hotel. 2-3 min walk. Water slides and park are excellent, and the different pools are also very large with lots of room. Sand on the beach very hot – so do your best Baywatch impression to get from your bed to the water! Hotel and beach very safe – no issues. Umbrellas available at every other sunbed but quite a few are damaged with one prong not going up. Ice cream available during specific times at both main hotel and wet n wild. Kids club seemed to be closed at main hotel and only open in morning, afternoon and evening session times at Wet n Wild. We didn’t really tip as states included in all-inclusive package, but the good thing is unlike some hotels that didn’t affect the service we received. Hotel is a mix of European nationalities but far dominated by British – we quite liked that as most people understood queuing and waiting your turn for things. Overall, a very good modern hotel with good facilities and to be perfect / excellent just need to improve the service at A la Carte’s and ensure maintenance is kept up to scratch in rooms and around the grounds. I would recommend anyone with kids staying here, with young kids the bus journey to Wet N Wild with a pushchair can become a little annoying.

I had a wonderful time with my son. everything we wanted was at the hotel. the food and staff were excellent especially Yunes and hrica, in the evening our service was 5 star always. The wet and wild was not open and sun beds were removed from the poolside after a few days which was a shame as my son and I loved sitting in the wet and wide poolside relaxing without any noise or disturbances. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others

Dear Guest, We would like to extend our sincere thanks for choosing our hotel to spend your holiday and we would like you to know that the time you have taken to share your experience is extremely valuable for us. Your satisfaction with our services has made us very happy and your valuable opinions have been a source of motivation for all Aska Lara staffs. In fact, our winter concept started as of 1 November, but we did not close the Wet&Wild area for our valued guests to benefit more. We had to close it later due to bad weather conditions. We would love you to visit our hotel again in a sunnier time and enjoy the Wet&Wild area with your son. We hope to have many good memories with you in the long future. We will be happy to welcome you and your loved ones back to our facilities as soon as possible. Regards, Büşra Yurduseven Doğan CRM Representative Aska Lara Resort & SPA

Spent a week at this ‘5*’ hotel with family…. In Antalya…. its beautiful lovely hotel, with a beautiful location, lovely room in the main building as there are 3 blocks, the main & then Block A & Block B which are like blocks of flats away from the main building…Would I stay here again? No… it’s not a 5* hotel at all… the room in the main block is as said lovely and contains a fridge filled each day with drinks. Rooms are cleaned daily if required. But the bathroom was not to standard and needed repairs… it’s Easy access to all of the hotel… and it’s facilities… a shuttle bus takes you to the beach which is great… lovely restaurant on the beach… and snack areas eg ice cream, pancakes etc available. The Blocks A & B are definitely 3* max. The food definitely is not 5 star.. there is so much choice which is good, but the quality of the food let this hotel down for us… it was repetitive and regurgitated from the breakfast to the lunch to the dinner…and not the standard of even a 4* hotel… more like 3* at best… I never knew this but suspected that was the case when I was told that the food is reused in a daily and it was obvious, some of the food was off, and was obviously old or used food from breakfast lunch or the day before. Therefore we avoided certain foods to the max. In the main restaurant you can get your own drinks or ask the staff serving the tables to get drinks for you. Most of these staff were selective of who they served at the tables and avoided many of the customers. Which I found was rude… some were very moody and seemed to hate their job and rarely smiled… there were one or two staff who were very helpful and pleasant even though their English was limited… the cups and glasses used were always dirty and didnt seem to be washed and contained stains from the previous persons use, unhygienic.. the tables were brushed off but not cleaned… we tended to sit at the same table if it was available… and noticed that the table and mats were never cleaned and contained stains and spills from the night before or the previous users. We sat and watched how the tables were cleared and cleaned. At time the staff didn’t remove the empty plates quickly enough or at all… or they would come to your table and snatch your plate away without asking… which was rude… I guess they are told to take away any dirty or used plates that are finished with but they need to check if that is the case. As the food was very repetitive or regurgitated from breakfast lunch or dinner left overs… it tasted the same but just looked different. There is a spa in the basement which cost extra about £50 to use, there’s a sauna, steam room and pools inside and outside. We and a lot of the people staying at the hotel found that the reception staff hardly spoke any English and were very unhelpful if you asked for information about how to get to certain places outside of the hotel, considering they live in the region…. they always said that they didn’t know or would direct you to Guest Services… if a 5* hotel has guests who are from different countries it would help if the staff had some command of the languages eg English… most of the staff had no issue with German or Russian but English speaking was limited we had more help and support from people on the street. In Antalya everything tends to be in Euros even in the airport, considering euros are not the main currency of Turkey or the UK… this was very annoying and frustrated as people were getting ripped off left right and centre by taxis and shops…demanding euros, whilst in a country I will use the local currency… everywhere we went the euro was demanded! Around the hotel there is no where to go or nothing to do it’s very isolated no nearby town to visit or explore really, unless you go to Antalya city, we went the Belek and Kadriye there’s nothing there… just the same shops selling the same things, replica designer clothes, getting the bus is easy and very cheap, you buy 2 travel cards for 110-120TL which allows you a return journey for 2 person… we went from Lara Beach the hotel location, which is in the area of Kundu (no one tells you this) to the city of Antalya, where there are shops and Malls etc bazaars etc and local prices galore, the old town, the harbour, that was the highlight of our week. The hotel staff do not support you in finding out how to explore outside of the hotel alone, they direct you to the taxis…. Which are a ripoff… We exchanged money in Antalya very easily at a great rate at the time it was 34-35TL to the £. This varies from day to day… We found that as the Turkish economy has very high interest rates it’s very expensive, more than back in the UK. Eg beware of the taxis they want to charge us a family of 3 €65 to go to Belem about 15 minutes drive when on the bus it is about £1…you can negotiate but their fuses are short. Turkey is over priced for what it is… we have been so many times over the years but was recently shocked as it’s more expensive than the UK if you don’t travel outside of the resort region… we didn’t do any excursions as the prices are ridiculously over priced… If you are staying in the flats A or B it’s about a 5 minute walk from the main hotel building and definitely not a 5* more like a 3* room which needs alot of repairs and refurbishment. Maintenance of the rooms facilities is a must, this isn’t done unless you as a guest report it… maintenance crew were very busy though… Would not visit Antalya again can’t see what all the hype is about…. There’s many stunning 5* hotels there, stunning scenery of the mountains etc… that’s it… apparently golfing in Belek is good…. If you don’t mind spending your holiday cooped up in a 5* hotel with nothing to do or no where to go that’s fine.

Dear guests, Thank you for choosing our hotel for your vacation and for taking the time to leave your review. We always investigate the issues related to the experiences shared by our guests and we endeavour to do the necessary work when we are sure that it needs to be improved. You can rest assured that we will share your feedback with the hotel management as well. After reading and studying your review we would like to mention some points with your permission. Unfortunately, we could not find any details of your reservation to verify your booking and the details of your stay at the hotel. So we don't quite understand whether you stayed in the main building or in the anex building. But we would like to point out that room service, cleaning, refilling of the mini bar and also technical inspection are carried out equally in both the main building and the annex building. But as you can understand there are more budget rooms that the hotel can provide to the guests, but the service and services for all guests are equal. We are sorry that you considered the staff at the reception rude and not knowing the language, because all our colleagues working there are always ready to help guests and speak languages, in particular English and there are even employees who are native speakers. But there may have been a misunderstanding with some of them because of their accent. Our hotel is located directly in Antalya and all guests who whant to go to the city can always use public transportation at the stop which is located 2 minutes from the hotel. Also based on the preferences of the guests, our colleagues can offer to call a "Taxi" for the guests if they want and it depends on the wishes of the guests. If guests want to go on any tour, all guests can always contact the representatives of their tour operators, who are in the hotel during the day, as the hotel does not deal with such organizations. The main restaurant offers more than 200 dishes daily. During the week 3 theme nights are organized. On Monday there is an Italian theme, on Wednesday a Turkish theme and on Saturday a seafood theme. The hotel serves guests of 45 different nationalities on a daily basis. Therefore, the perception of dishes and flavors is very subjective and can vary from person to person. Since opening, our hotel has been successfully inspected by local authorities, the Ministry of Tourism and tour operators for compliance with sanitary, safety and quality requirements. Therefore, we would like you to feel comfortable with regards to hygiene. As a hotel, we try to do our best to continuously improve ourselves and maximize the satisfaction of our guests. We would like to emphasize that our team makes every effort to ensure that every guest spends their vacation in a friendly and comfortable environment. We are constantly working to improve the quality of our services, including ongoing training of our service staff. We would have preferred that you had a more pleasant experience at our hotel, but we hope that you will give us a second chance and visit our hotel again. Regards, Daria Yıldız CRM Shift Leader Aska Lara Resort & SPA

I recently stayed at Aska Lara Resort and Spa and, unfortunately, my experience was far from the advertised 5-star quality. My rating would realistically be 3-stars, and I advise potential guests to reconsider staying here. Issues Encountered: 1. Staff Communication: The staff’s English proficiency was inadequate, making communication challenging. Moreover, their attitude often came across as rude and unhelpful. 2. Misleading Information: The hotel’s responses to previous reviews seem dishonest. Notably, their policy on cats is misleading; cats freely roam around, including in dining areas. 3. Accommodation and Layout: The annex, where most guests are placed, is clearly a budget option requiring a ten-minute walk for meals or drinks. This separation from the main building was inconvenient. 4. Service Policies: The hotel’s 30-minute ironing policy is impractical. Also, the neutrality of the guest service manager did not address our concerns effectively. 5. Transport and Privacy: The absence of Uber services forced us to use overpriced hotel taxis. Additionally, the hotel’s policy against recording for evidence was concerning. 6. Guest Experience: Upon early departure, there was no inquiry about our stay or reasons for leaving. The reception staff’s training seems inadequate, as they were disrespectful in their interactions. 7. Inconsiderate Guests and Privacy Violations: Other guests behaved offensively without intervention from the management. Staff entered our room without permission, further invading our privacy. 8. Dining Experience: Although the food was acceptable, the service was lacking. Waiters were overly attentive, and staff either provided wrong information or none at all when asked for assistance. 9. Special Requirements Ignored: My dietary requirements, clearly stated during booking and at reception, were overlooked. 10. Bar Service and Orientation: Long lines at the bar and limited drink options were disappointing. Furthermore, there was no guidance on navigating the hotel. 11. Baggage Service: The staff handling our luggage lingered in the room, seemingly waiting for a tip, which felt uncomfortable. Overall, my stay at Aska Lara was marred by a series of disappointments and unprofessionalism. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision

Dear Guests Thank you for choosing our hotel for your vacation and for sharing your candid thoughts about your recent stay with us. We always investigate the issues related to the experiences shared by our guests and we endeavour to do the necessary work when we are sure that it needs to be improved. All feedback from our guests, both positive and negative, is important to us and you can be assured that we will share your feedback with the hotel management. But with your permission we would like to point out a few things in your review. Unfortunately you did not provide any information about yourself so that we could study the details of your reservation and your stay. But as we understand from your review and commentary you stayed in the annex building, and as you rightly noted it is a more budget type of room which is located 3 minutes walk from the main building. All rooms are provided to guests in accordance with the reservation, and all travel agencies with which the hotel cooperates have full information about the location of the buildings. As well as on our official website there is also all information about all rooms with description and location. Each of our guests can familiarize themselves with them and do not doubt in our openness. Also you mentioned cats, and we would like to note that the hotel makes sure that cats do not enter the building and always when they are seen they are caught and taken out of the building. But many guests love animals, like to feed them and also let them into the building and yes they get used to it and try to get in. But according to all the rules of the hotel it is strictly monitored and naturally try to do everything possible that all guests would be satisfied. Although we do not quite understand what incorrect or incomplete information you are talking about, we would like to note that at check-in all guests are given all the information about the hotel, on the cards for klbchas there is a QR code so that all guests could familiarize themselves with the concept of the hotel and the opening hours of bars and restaurants. Also in bars there is QR with menu, and there is QR with link to the application of the hotel where there is full information about everything that is held in the hotel and works. All this is done in order that people coming from different countries and speaking different languages could easily get all necessary and accurate information about the hotel. We would also like to mention our service of using the iron in the room. Yes as you have noticed the iron is provided for 30 minutes use, but it is not limited by the number of times per day and guests can ask to bring it again as needed. However, due to fire safety regulations, irons are not left in the room for a long period of time and this is due to concern for the safety of our guests. We ask all our guests to show understanding in this matter. Unfortunately there is no Uber service in Turkey and cabs are not part of the hotel services. Also we cannot be responsible for the state regulations on transportation. Separately we would like to note that all guests with special dietary needs can always contact the guest relations department and our colleagues always help all guests in this matter. Unfortunately not always all notes about any special needs of guests made during the booking process reach the hotel and for this reason we always ask our guests to contact the guest relations department upon arrival at the hotel so that we can help them directly. We would also like to point out that we host guests from many different countries of the world in our hotel. If the behaviour of our guests does not comply with the rules of our hotel, we always take precautions and make the necessary warnings to our guests. However, unfortunately, in such a situation, our hotel cannot be held responsible for our guests. We would like to emphasize that the team of our hotel makes every effort to ensure that the rest of each of our guests passed in a friendly and comfortable environment. We are constantly working to improve the quality of our services, including through ongoing training of our service staff. Although your experience did not meet your expectations and we are not in a position to change your past experience, we hope you will change your mind and give us another chance to provide a more positive stay in the future. We wish you all the best, Daria Yıldız CRM Shift Leader Aska Lara Resort & SPA

Went as a family for some winter sun, travelling with 4 adults 1 baby. We booked with Tui - so some offers etc may vary on booking agents? The hotel check in was quick and Efficient with water available at the entrance- then bags are brought up to the room by a team member which is really nice touch. The rooms are large and clean - they need some updating and a freshen up, maybe this is done at the end of the season? Balcony with 2 chairs and a small table- we had a partial sea view - not the best view, and noise from the kitchens clearing up/moving noisey things which went on quite late. Our air conditioning was poor in our room luckily not too hot at night- but had to keep door open instead of a/c- but..it worked really well in our daughters room. Fresh towels and toiletries daily if needed , slippers and mini bar re filled each day with soft drinks, water and beer, all free- tea and coffee provided too. But...more of a replenishment housekeeping service than cleaning! Trod on glass in the corridor and had to report this twice to guest services before it was actioned and with lots of young babies learning to walk etc it was dangerous. Staff in general make this hotel!! The restaurant and bar staff are friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Food good- my son in law is gluten & dairy intolerant and managed to eat well. Lots of variety of meats and fish and salads. The staff check and clean all the time in the restaurant, checking everything is full etc. Waiting staff bring drinks and remember your orders. The bar teams are great and attentive with drinks and crisps- which is so nice not having to be queueing at the bar. Wet and wild was winding down for winter but we went on a lovely 26 degree day and spent time at the water park area and on the beach. There is a regular free shuttle or its about a 10 minute walk- pool towels available at the waterpark. There are areas of the hotel which need a touch up of paint or some maintenance but it was kept very clean and staff constantly sweeping in the restaurant. We had a massage and scrub in the spa-- my only objection was the very very pushy salesman brought in after the treatment as we were relaxing to try and push us into more treatments at a further 150 euro and didn't seem to appreciate when we said no we didn't have enough money- I really felt uncomfortable with that approach and felt more stressed than before my massage!! The shops on site are more expensive than if you walk 20-25 minutes out of the hotel and depends what you are looking for!! Pools clean and garden areas clean and well maintained- bins and empty glasses cleared regularly and again really friendly staff. The pools were freezing but we visited mid November!! Large inside heated pool with sauna steam room and Turkish bath which are included. There is reception and also guest service centre who solved issues very quickly and as a diabetic I didn't want sugary fizzy drinks in the mini bar which was no issue and I had coke zero and water which was remembered every day! There is a play area for kids - table tennis- cinema- small bowling alley which is about 20 euro for 4 to play. Entertainment is never going to please everyone and if it's not for you the brasserie bar is a quiet option or a small coffee kiosk and sofas on the basement floor. Or a nightclub if you are a night owl!! We had a relaxing winter break away with the family and made better by the friendly staff.
