Orchard Glamping is the perfect retreat in which to explore the great outdoors. Located on a beautiful patch of land, part of the Richardson’s family farm in Catterall, near Garstang, Preston. The site is run by Rebecca Richardson and her husband Tom, alongside Tom's grandfather, Ted and his wife Doris. Positioned next to the canal, the river and a small woodland, the site offers a multitude of activities for families and couples who just want to get out and immerse themselves in the countryside. The site is also close to the Trough of Bowland, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The glamping pod is designed with families and couples in mind and can sleep four people with an additional 2 on the sofa bed. For those who love to explore outside, campers will find the pods cosy but also practical, especially on wet weather days. Wet boots and coats can be stored outside with a warm welcome inside. Decorated in a modern country style you will feel right at home with all the comforts and amenities available in the pod. The pod has been hand-built by a local company and is more like a luxury self-contained apartment sure to impress our visiting guests. There is also the option to purchase a range of homemade hampers for during your stay. We can provide breakfast hampers, BBQ hampers, cheese hampers and couples special pack hampers all containing local produce some of our very own! Outside campers will be treated to wild flower beds surrounding their pod, along with views of the woodland and beacon fell in the day time. In the evening guests can sit around their own fire pit toasting marshmallows and catching a glimpse of the nighttime wildlife! The experience at the Richardson’s will be topped off by their friendly hosting. As 7th generation farmers and with Great Grandad still farming in his 90's, they understand the importance of enjoying a bit of family time outdoors. Living just near the entrance to the site, they are on hand to help make your visit as peaceful or as busy as you like.

We stayed over in one of these pods during the recent half term break. It comfortably fitted all four of us and the facilities were fantastic. The kitchenette is very well appointed (fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, sink) and the addition of an indoor toilet, sink and shower was fantastic. I was very impressed in particular with the water pressure and heat from the gas powered shower.

The double bed and bunks were extremely comfortable and the underfloor heating throughout the pod kept us toasty warm. We would love to return in the summer months to use the outdoor bbq in the garden area.

The garden itself is fully enclosed (low level hedge/ fence / gate ) and so is perfect for toddlers or dogs to run around in. There are just three pods in total on this site and they are well spaced out, so you never feel overlooked.

The owners were fantastic. The welcome pack contained loads of useful information on the pod itself and the surrounding area. They texted to check we had settled in nicely and made it clear we could contact them if we had any issues. They also offered to show us round the working farm, an offer which we gladly accepted.

Farmer Tom gave up his time on his day off to show us round the chicken sheds and cattle barns. He was extremely polite and friendly and our kids loved it.

The area itself was great to stay in. The Sainsburys store (5 min drive) had everything we needed and there were several excellent family and pet friendly pubs within an equal driving distance. We ate at The Bellflower one evening and have never been to a more dog friendly pub, the food was good also and the licencee was a real character.

We competed the Nicky Nook walk also during our stay and would highly recommend it (15 min drive from the pods). It was 3.5 miles in length and offered exellent views over the hills, and round Grizedale reservoir. The Applestore cafe at the finish in Wyredale Park was a particular highlight also and is well worth a visit.

Williamson Park in nearby Lancaster was also great for a family visit.

We felt like we only scatched the surface of what the area had to offer and we'll definitely return, and will stay in these pods again without hesitation. The owners have thought of everything, and were extremely welcoming.

Well, where do i start? Saw this place on booking.com and instantly knew i needed to visit just by looking at the pictures and reading previous reviews. Booked on their own website as it was part deposit and payable full balance before visiting. The location was perfect, felt like a million miles away when it was a only a short drive from places to eat, drink and food shop. Would highly recommend buying the breakfast package,it was so nice. Only little niggle was there wasnt any milk so a black coffee had to do (very minor fault) couldnt pick fault with anything in the pod we stayed in,it was perfect and ive 20 years experience in holiday home construction and these pods are perfect. Lancaster canal is literally in front of you and if you follow that 20 mins canal side you end up in a great little village with a canal side pub. We loved our weekend away here and will def be back in 2022 we loved it that much. Keep up the good work 😊

We stayed here for 3 days myself, husband and 2 year old and we had the best time !!
There was ample room in the pod for all of us and had everything we needed including little extras such as homemade biscuits on arrival, tea, coffee and a friendly welcome from the owners

The cleanliness was outstanding and a credit to the family that own it.
I brought our own cleaning products as I wasn’t sure if they were provided but the pod have everything you would need including dishwasher tablets.

My 2 year old was able to roam around the site freely with a big field for lots of games and to run around! The owner was kindly enough to show us around the farm which my daughter loved.

There are plenty of walks nearby with a stream not too far to paddle in. Garstang is 5 mins drive with lovely shops, cafes and restaurants.

All in all it was a lovely break and would highly recommend for couples and families.
Thank you Becky and Tom for such a wonderful stay.

Well, what can I say?

Amazing hosts, beautiful accommodation, incredible location.

Becky & family were so hospitable, even got a tour of the farm from Tom!

Free range eggs on sale at the farm as well as local honey.

Accommodation is of a very high standard, overlooking the canal, very peaceful. I particularly liked the cows in the neighbouring fields.

Highly highly recommended

Wow !! Just returned from a 2 night stay and we decided as it was a 20th Wedding Anniversary- we would book the deluxe ‘Blossom’ pod as we are a family of 5. The pod was surprisingly roomy and there was a dbl bed, bunk beds for my 2 boys and large sofa/bed in the front room area for my 13 yo daughter. The pod was located in the grounds of a large meadow/garden area which was fab for the kids to play football and frisbee and we felt very safe there. There is a small river next to the pods which was lovely so kids could explore and play hide and seek !
Upon arrival we had key safe box with simple, clear instructions to obtain the keys and upon inspection the pod was immaculately clean - I am rather fussy but I could simply not find any issues and all the pod had cutlery, plates, cleaning equipment, dishwasher with tablets and provided linen and clean towels. The smart tv was a bonus so we could watch our own Netflix at night. The fire pit we never used as it was a very warm few nights but sat in the outdoor garden area with wine and games with the kids.
Totally amazing 2 nights and would most definitely return here again !!
The owner took time to come and ensure we were checked in and had time to chat to us - which is a lovely gesture. :)

What an absolute diamond of a find, we didn’t think we would manage to find anywhere the week we had off work then we found orchard glamping , absolutely fantastic, the pod was immaculate, and the detail put in to everything was amazing down to how they tied the spare bed linen in the bag honestly the little touches really shows how much this family take pride in what they are trying to achieve or should I say have achieved, by far better than any hotel we’ve stayed in for its cleanliness, the facilities were everything you could want and more, they really have thought of everything. The shortbread was gorgeous so thank you for that. The girls loved their stay, the bunk beds were a winner, and so was the fire pit with the supply of hot chocolate and marshmallows and very sweet of your neighbours to pop that round to us because we’d forgot to add it on!! Perfect location, we had a great days out in the Lake District, and a visit to Blackpool as well, there was plenty more that we could of done as well.
The little canal at the bottom of the orchard is just the sweetest and we enjoyed a walk after dinner there.

Don’t think twice about booking it, we are already planning our next stay here!!!!

Absolutely amazing! We were a family of four staying in the blossom apartment pod, and there was plenty of space for us all. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was even a dishwasher!! The three pods are in a great location with lovely views of the countryside and walking distance to shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs via Stones Lane. Very close to canal, perfect for walking to Garstang! I would highly recommend and can guarantee we will be booking again!!

Stayed here for two nights 19th & 20th April.

Pod was spotless, lovely bed linen & a fantastically comfortable bed.

There really is everything you could want in the pod, Becky (owner) even leaves you a few tea bags, some coffee & sugar to get you started. As well as a lovely pack of shortbread, which was very welcome after a long journey.

The location is amazing, at the end of a private road, so no road noise. So nice to sit out & watch the world go by, you can even see canal boats passing by on the canal at the bottom of the field.

There is a fire pit (welcome as the nights were a bit chilly to sit out without it), big table & seating and a brick built barbecue.

What was also amazing was how dark it was! So many stars to see without the light pollution. It is so dark..... and yes Becky has thought of everything by even leaving a small torch in the pod.

Absolutely outstanding accommodation & location, don't hesitate to book Orchard Glamping

Orchard Glamping pods are neat and cosy little private hideaways. We wanted to visit some Blackpool family attractions without actually staying in Blackpool and our son wanted to go camping. We found this a brilliant compromise!

There is fab BBQ and firepit outside which you can add on fuel packages for, my advice is to book the breakfast and bbq food packs too. We didn't as I didn't want to rely on the weather and end up with food we couldn't cook, but I should have added it on the week before the trip when I knew we would have some nice days.

So, its neat and tidy, quite fun, 35 mins or so from main attractions and a mile from Garstang where you can have a lovely pub meal. Take your wellies for a stroll by the nearby canal and a hungry belly to fill with smores from the firepit.

Beautiful location set in a quiet field in the countryside and awakening to the dawn chorus was just glorious. Pods super clean and well laid out had everything you could need for a stay.
Hosts were friendly and attentive nothing was too much trouble.
The breakfast hampers plenty of choice and so thoughtful. I couldn’t of asked for anything more.
Would completely and totally recommend.
Will defiantly be going again 10/10
