Just had 1 night at Kate's, Couldn't have had a more different experience to the previous review and rating of 1! We definitely would rate this a 5/5! Kate was very welcoming, Couldn't do enough for us, wonderful welcome, lovely ground floor room with access directly to huge comfortable lounge and roaring log burner, all very cosy and relacing! Room had everything we needed and bonus was it opened out onto beautiful garden with bench to sit and chill on. Delicious breakfast with plenty of choices and served with a smile promptly at chosen time, what more could we ask for! Set us up for the day before spending a day at River Cottage doing a Stag willow making course. Kate helped us with directions which made our journey to River cottage quick and easy! Plus welcome from Kates 2 lovely little dogs! We will definitely be back! Thank you Kate for a fab stay! Cath & Derek x…
We have just returned from another wonderful stay at Kate’s Farm B&B. We have stayed here several times over the last 9 years and we would never want to stay anywhere else when visiting the area. The B&B itself is a gorgeous farmhouse full of character and charm with its stone walls and beams. The fireplace is amazing and so relaxing in the evenings with a glass of wine! Everything about Kate’s Farm is quintessentially English which we love. The rooms are always clean & tidy and have everything you could need. The breakfast is tasty, fresh & plentiful. The sausages are the best I’ve had! Kate is a lovely host and extremely helpful and makes you welcome straight away. We have 2 young children and Kate always makes them feel very welcome, offering them toys, talking to them about the area and she even bought them little gifts. Kate supplied us with a highchair & helped with heating milk bottles which when travelling with little ones is a real bonus. We love our stays at Kate’s Farm and our children are already asking when we can go back to Kate’s. We will definitely be back soon. …
Well it must be us as we did not get the warm welcome, we got ‘just because someone else parked their car that way doesn’t mean you can do the same’ We were met by a lady who could barely keep her eyes open and blamed the night before. We were shown to a room on the ground floor that was very dark and only a small door between the guest seating area and the bed !!!! We were asked our breakfast order and we said we were off to find some dinner. don’t worry we were told we don’t lock the door. We did not stay
Kate put us up overnight and was so helpful from start to finish. She rang on the way to warn about a road closure, wasn’t irritated at all when we arrived late due to bad traffic and made us feel very welcome even when our dog went a bit nuts after being cooped up so long in the car. The room was lovely - plenty of space for a family of four and a large lab - and it was beautifully clean and fresh. The bathroom is roomy, clean and fantastically decorated. We loved sitting in the breakfast room and admired the ancient fire place so much, Kate gave us a description of how it would have been used originally. Breakfast itself was gorgeous and plentiful. The setting is picturesque and idyllic and the dog had gleeful free run of the impressive garden. I would highly, highly recommend for anyone but particularly families or/and those with dogs.…
Stayed here with my other half and family recently. Such a great spot if you are looking to stay near Lyme Regis or surrounding coastal area. Kate was such a friendly host and always tried to work to our requests. We have a little boy aged 2 and Kate provided toys for him to play with and was more than helpful when we needed to get milks ready etc. Breakfast was top with a choice of almost anything you could want to start your day. Rooms were clean, tidy and quiet. Thanks again Kate for a great stay. Hope to visit again soon - Dan, Em & James. PS James says he already misses Kate, Rambo & Maisie!
My wife and I stayed here with our dog for 3 nights. We had the garden room and this was great for our dog as it had a door opening into the garden so we could let him out any time we wanted. The room is not big, but big enough for a 3 night stay and we enjoyed our time there. The room had a nice bed and a good sized shower, with a separate room for the toilet and hand basin. It also had tea and coffe making facilities. Kate was a great host and couldn't do enough for us. She often offered us more and even gave my wife a visor to wear whilst out shopping. The breakfast offered by Kate was also great and she was happy to make this to suit your preferences. She also had her own dogs so our dog semed to enjoy that he had other dogs around him whilst we were there. Next to the garden room was the brekfast room, but this also had sofas, so could be used any time you wanted. We will stay again when we are in this area.…
Stayed here in the family room for 1 night. Double with bunks. V quiet night so slept well. Breakfast was great with v good quality food. Adherence to social distancing all in place. Would def recommend!
We chose the garden room because of one of us having issues with stairs. On the telephone an honest disclosure was made that it was a small room but this was not a problem; there is a separate room with wash basin and toilet and another room with a shower. We especially appreciated the heated towel rail in there. The guest lounge is huge with much character. The beautiful scenery and quietness of the place are great. Nothing was too much trouble for Kate and the breakfast was generous and well-cooked. The bed (a new one) was very comfortable. The dogs were lovely, placid and no trouble to us.
Really lovely stay. Made to feel part of the family. Kate the host even took my girls for a doggy walk in the morning after a lovely breakfast. Room large family with en-suite. Very large, clean and comfy. Would definitely recommend for anyone that wants to stay in the area. Just a lovely lady and lovely stay in a very quiet area.
We had an amazing stay at Kate’s. The farmhouse has a very relaxing ambience and the breakfast was sooo delicious. Kate was very friendly and accommodating to our young children and big dog. We felt welcome straightaway. Will definitely go back! Thank you, Kate.
