We wanted to try an ice hotel and being as we had previously visited Romania and stayed with Secret Transylvania we obviously booked through them. We unfortunately arrived in a freak snow storm which meant no activities were running but Bob our tour guide made us feel happy and entertained in the Cabana. Those of us who felt strong enough chose to take the walking excursion, we had hot wine we could concur the world. We had been walking for about 20 minutes, which was very hard, when Bob said no this is not safe I am sorry but this is too dangerous. He turned us back, turns out other tour guides did not have the same safety in mind and people got stuck and had to be rescued. We had a great time, it is definitely an experience, food great and beautiful surroundings. Definitely worth a visit just be careful who you go with! Would recommend secret Transylvania.

We travelled to Transylvania with no pre conceived ideas of what it would be like and boy were we blown away! We spent the week with Secret Transylvania and we cannot rate them high enough. We spent a night at the ice hotel and it was absolutely fabulous , food great , bed (of ice) comfortable and the experience was really one to tick off the bucket list ! The amazing night turned into an adventure the next day as we had 3ft of snow overnight and had to trek across to the cabana in a white out resulting in an extra night up the mountain which was fab !

Massive tick off our list to see an ice hotel, thank you Secret Transylvania! There is nothing these wonderful people didn’t think of to make our stay amazing! Even supplying head torches for the spooky tunnel walk (not to be missed!)

We loved our stay at the Hotel of Ice. It was remarkably cozy! We played on the glacier in the afternoon which my son, 11 years old, loved. We had a FABULOUS dinner in the Hotel of Ice. SO DELICIOUS! The ice sculptures are incredible. Monica was super kind, helpful and so funny! Thank you for making our trip to Romania so great!

We stayed at the ice hotel through Untravelled Paths as part of the mini ice hotel experience, it has been one of the best experiences of my life, a weekend to remember! From the cable car up (you do have to push past a lot of angry Romanians who are day visiting to get to the left priority line), to the tunnel trek, to the meal in the hotel, we loved every minute. I think booked through Untravelled Paths made the experience as we were given lots of priority on the snow activities, the right amount of alcohol to keep us merry, and we were so well looked after. Sunset at the end of the tunnel track was a highlight, plus the little surprise at the other side 😉 (don’t want to ruin it for anyone but you won’t regret doing the tunnel trek, trust me). We were blessed with glorious weather so the views were out of this world! Having never been on a ski or snow holiday/break before, we just found the whole place magical. I would love to go back but you can never create that amazing first time, so we won’t, but will definitely be booking other trips with Untravelled Paths again

Surprisingly warm in the sleeping bag provided. Not a big deal to walk up to the cable car station for the toilet in the night. Obviously no washing/changing facilities but definitely worth going. Wonderfully quiet and sound proof

some previous reviews have been odd with people moaning about the cold and noise and no bathroom - seriously its a hotel made of ice - what do you expect - its meant to be cold! Rooms are separated from the dining hall by a curtain so totally get that noise would be a problem if you want to sleep and others want to party but an ice door would freeze shut obviously so nothing else can be done, you do need to go for the experience and not expect something luxurious. we were the only guest staying that night so had the hotel to ourselves which was awesome but i would like to be back on a party night too. its quirky and a definite thing to tick off anyone's bucket list, the staff were great and we had access to a room at the cabin to warm up and leave our things dry. if we wanted to give up ice sleeping in the night we were provided with the mobile number to wake up someone and get access in the cabin for the rest of the night at an 80lei per person cost - again previous reviews have moaned about this but its not fair to expect a second room without paying for it and hopefully it deters people disturbing the staff in the middle of the night because of getting bored. once i was snuggled with the sleeping bag mostly closed over my head i soon warmed up - and more so than i expected. food at the cabin was great, food in the ice hotel was also great but no better than the cabin food so really it is a bit overpriced, it includes a shot, but could be more worthwhile with a few more drinks included, your essentially paying for the experience of eating in the ice hotel, maybe if there were more guests the atmosphere would have added to the experience, staff were fantastic, catered to my friends complex diet requirements and we went for the trek through the tunnel - really cool to do

Me & my girlfriend spent a night at the Ice Hotel last week. As a one-off experience, it's worth it, and very good value (especially compared to the cost of an Ice Hotel in Sweden!). The Ice Dinner is also worth it for the complete experience. The surrounding Mountain Scenery is also beautiful. If your travelling there independently (as we did) you can get the Belea Bus there (15 EUR per head from Sibiu to cable cable) but will probably have to arrange a taxi back (At least 50 EUR for a Taxi from cable car to Sibiu).

We had a wonderful experience. We ate in the ice restaurant and the meal was very good. The staff were very helpful. We had a great time however the ice bar does get extremely slippery. The chalet hotel is also very good, most of the staff were helpful and polite but some appeared uncaring but I think that this was because they did not have understood us. Lots of fun activities to do and the scenery is amazing. A most do experience
