First rate accommodation- we were a little sceptical about the shared bathroom for a handful of rooms but there were 2 full bathrooms plus an additional wc and in spite of all rooms being occupied we only saw other guests when eating our fabulous breakfast in the garden on Sunday morning-sourdough toast was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for Tom . We will have to return at some point to sample the main menu. Thanks very much.

The whole team at The Peacock were so friendly, professional and really cared about making a difference and adding value to the customer experience. Ashleigh was amazing and really took personal responsibility in making sure our stay was a really good one. Courtney served us drinks and again was friendly and chatty and like Ashleigh had that good balance between professional and friendly. The room was very comfortable, warm and cosy and had everything we needed (1night stay). We had dinner in the restaurant which was exceptional - Sam and Elliot work so hard and their passion about fresh food and flavours are beautifully presented on the plates. We appreciated the extra touches too of home made sour dough and malt bread and the delectable desserts. Thank you. Breakfast was so yummy - again fresh and lovely special touches - I loved the Peacock branded paper that the croissants sat on, and the individually wrapped Netherend Farm butter. The coffee was excellent and for me a deal breaker in rating a place! :) Excellent stay and I really hope you continue during this tough economic climate...maybe hold back on the branded paper the croissants sit on and small jars of jam and bespoke butter but keep up the fantastic team spirit and communication you guys all have. Good luck and best wishes to all of you.

We keep going back to the Peacock Inn because every time we go we have an absolutely delicious meal. In my view this is the finest fine dining we have ever tasted. Every dish is beautifully presented, the ingredients are obviously carefully chosen for their complementary flavours and are often put together in a unique and unexpected way. The dining room is small, the tables are far enough apart so it is not too noisy and all the staff are friendly and courteous and give you space and time to enjoy your meal. Nothing feels rushed or too much trouble and as far as I can tell everyone is treated like a VIP. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough although part of me doesn’t want to because then everybody will want to go there and we won’t be able to get a table!

Since it’s reopening several months ago, we have visited The Peacock on numerous occasions. The refurbished internal and external environments have been completed to a high standard. In sunny weather, the garden is a delightfully, relaxing setting. Inside there is a smart but cosy atmosphere. The very professional, friendly and efficient front of house manager and a capable support team together deliver a reliably welcoming, warm ambience and a high quality personal service. The regularly changing menu is translated into varied, interesting and satisfying courses, well-suited to a wide range of different tastes. Service is well-timed. There is no rush so the whole dining/drinking experiences are very pleasurable. Hence our frequent visits. Communications with The Peacock are both speedy and efficient. The Peacock is conveniently situated only minutes from our home and, whatever the weather, is proving to be a very reliable venue of choice.

The best fish & chips I’ve ever had! The fish was thick flakey and so fresh. The batter thin and crisp without a hint of oil but not dry. Tasty. Not too big or small and served with lovely crisp fries. I’m pretty fussy about my fish & chips and this was perfection. Well done you all!! Have to add that the refurb is great and service flawless. And no, I’m not related to the people that run it, just a nearby resident who is very impressed.

We held our wedding reception at The Peacock Inn, in May this year and we could not have asked for more from the beautifully renovated old pub, the fabulous team, gorgeous food and the wonderful setting.
Our wedding meal was amazing and so many of our guests made a point of telling us it was the best wedding meal they've had! Over 60 covers, all fresh and with a sense they were individual orders. Thanks to Chef Sam.
Manger Thomas and his local team made everything so easy for us. They were on the ball and always attentive whilst looking like they were having fun themselves!
Nothing was too much for them and they always went the extra mile with small detail; whether with food, drinks or general requests. They even organised the sun to be out!
As a group we booked every room, they were all very comfortable and everyone had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was superb quality.
We're delighted that our wedding was apparently the first under the new management - they made it feel like it was a regular occurrence!
If you are thinking of any sort of private hire or celebratory event, you are in extremely safe hands in a beautiful setting if you choose The Peacock Inn, Chelsworth.

From the moment we arrived on Halloween we felt the friendliness of this place. The girl (didnt get her name had long dark curled hair) who saw us to our room which was beautiful and exceptionally clean was so friendly and actually interested in us and what our visit was all about, she was so helpful too, it was our first time to this area. On return that evening same friendliness from a different girl who served us drinks and it showed how interested they are in you as she knew about a surprised we had planned locally from the first girl, really nice they want to know how it all went. Same again with Jack the young man who served us at breakfast all interested in you and the events that have taken place over Halloween (me and hubby did a surprise trick or treat to our granddaughter nearby in Wattisham, they all thought it funny and great). Jack knows his stuff and is very knowledgeable on everything local and food and wine, so friendly and helpful. The room was lovely airy and very clean and spacious. We had 2 lovely breakfasts with amazing mushrooms which has now prompted us to grow king oyster ones ourselves. We didnt have an evening meal because we spent time with family but when we come to the area again we definitely will. Highly recommend The Peacock. Well Done everyone 👍

Great service, great food, if you are a foodie that appreciates good ingredients being showcased very well this is the place. Far better meal than the unruly pig, for now this remains a hidden gem. My only suggestion would be black out curtains in the rooms. Thank you for a nice meal and stay.

This visit wasn’t planned, a spur of the moment thing, but that was meant to be because we had a lovely meal served by two excellent young people! We choose the set menu and we both enjoyed different starters, beautifully presented, delightful little tasty plates . For the main course we had the chicken pie , with wonderful 🥮 pastry, mashed potatoes and cabbage ,non pretentious, delicious food. We stayed a while , enjoying a little chat between courses with our charismatic waitress and waiter…so very pleasant .

Excellent lunch in this tastefully refurbished pub. Warm welcome from the young people serving and although we were amongst the first group for lunch we were joined by other parties and the garden soon filled up.
The garden has been carefully replanted and there is new garden furniture. The whole place smacks of care and attention to detail.
We’d a great week day lunch, some lovely salads, a huge side order of home cooked chips and a stunning red poll sirloin beef sandwich from the sourdough menu. A nice pint of Ghost Ship from Adnams helped make this a delightful lunch. Oh and the ice creams and sticky toffee pudding were excellent too.
Service was attentive and friendly throughout with an obvious real pride in the improvements and an invitation to revisit for dinner.
We will definitely be back!
