popped in over the weekend. sat in one of the relaxing arm chairs by the bar and enjoyed a lovely sausage sandwich with red onion chutney. lovely decor in the pub and a nice relaxed feeling. would recommend for casual bar food, and a cheeky pint.

I would highly recommend the Crown to anyone looking for a great meal or little mini break away. The rooms were lovely, and they were separate from the pub so nice and quiet (although I would have liked a slightly softer pillow, but I am a fussy pillow person). We had purchased a special offer that included a three course...

Tried to get a table here a couple of times without success so was lucky today. We wanted to try what is reported to be the best Sunday Roast dinner in the Reading area and we weren't disappointed. The Sunday carvery is £15.00 per head - quite dear compared to other local Sunday roasts but about the same price as...

This is the first time we have visited this inn for lunch. The staff were welcoming and efficient. There was an extensive menu including some unusual African dishes including Durban curry and Bobotie. Both were very enjoyable and the portions were generous. Will certainly be returning.

We decided that we need a short break and found the Crown on Secret Escapes. It turned out to be a great choice. Our room was large and very comfortable. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was superb and was served hot. I highly recommend a stay here and will certainly be going back for another stay.

We invited friends and family to celebrate my birthday last Saturday lunchtime. I chose The Crown as it has a South African Manager and a South African chef (who, unfortunately, was not on duty on Saturday), so their menu has several South African dishes. It is a lovely restaurant and the staff are charming and efficient. However, it is pricey...

Have been here many times and it has always been very good. I highly recommend this place for any occasion. Thank you for looking after us once again 👍

We met here for a girly lunch mid week and it was very nice. The pub is tucked away off the A4 and you have to know it's there really. The restaurant is cosy and well decorated. The staff were friendly and efficient. We met at 12.30 and came away after 3.30 and we were left to chat which was...

Spacious and attractive quiet areas to eat. We chose the soup and sandwich combination from the menu at lunch time, which was extremely good value and very tasty. the soup was homemade, perhaps not quite so hot as I would have liked. My ciabatta sandwich was very fresh and the bread crisp on the outside and the filling of chicken,...
