This was absolutely worth it all. Worth the 1000 mosquito bites...bring extra repellent...you can't bring enough. The scenery around the huts is breathtaking. The sounds at night amazing. Watching the sunset on the river filled with waterlilies, brought chills. Expect no luxury, expect no culinary experience, but expect the most friendly helpful staff. We, a danish family of 4, and...

Suggest going late in the afternoon. spending one night for the experience. A boat ride in the evening to see the sunset and a boat ride in the morning to see the sunrise. A boat ride to dinner and a walk around the garden. A romantic experience as isolated. Bring drinks and snack. Cabanas on stilts beautiful views.

We were there in 2000. Back then it was somewhat of a failed venture, we were told but actually it was interesting. Although we didn't experience it, I would think that bugs could be a problem. Communism, gotta love it lol.

BACK ROADS CUBA…THANKS TO FIDEL…YOU PADDLE RIGHT UP TO YOUR HUT’S BACK DOOR. Boca de Guamá is depicted on all those Cuban Convertible Pesos (CUC-“kook”) you have in your pocket. The coins are minted in Canada! It is a pre-Columbian Cuba tourist creation and is among the more imaginative. It takes its name from native Taíno chief Guamá, who made...

Beautiful place, rooms nice receptionist very friendly. Sadly the restaurant staff let it down, poor service, poor choice and generally unhelpful. Such a shame as with better service it would be lovely. A drink on arrival, mosquito nets, and being willing to provide water at breakfast would have made a difference.

- 2 points because of the POOR breackfast and EXPENSIVE, NOT GOOD dinner! Nice experience to sleep in those hut/dump. 1 night is enought. Propose: go early in the morning with the hotel guy to see the sun raising! Nice pictures. It's a funny and romantic place.

The location is absolutely amazing, and being rowed from our room to reception at sunset was a magical experience. But ... Pluses: - Truly beautiful location, staying in huts on stilts in a beautiful lake - Amazing sunset (subject to weather conditions of course) - Watching a hummingbird feeding from a bush by our table at breakfast - The speedboat...

If you look for some time to chill out go for this village of stilt cottages. Good comfort in the cottages, nice (but old) pool, but most of all enjoy the wilderness around you. The reception lady could`nt do enough to make us feel like home and we had a two nice meals (dinner and brekkie). This was a very...

Only stay at this hotel if you like bird watching. The bird watching was great. We were rowed around the lagoon at sunset and saw spoonbills, hummingbirds, ospreys and pelicans roosting in trees. For this we would reward the hotel 5***** However the accommodation was very very basic. The huts over the water were furnished with broken furniture, had very...
