Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was one of the best family-run guesthouses we've ever been to. Though we don't speak Spanish and our hostess didn't speak English, we happily muddled through. The food is some of the best we had in Cuba (we had both breakfast and dinner there). She arranged for a divemaster to come over and talk to us to arrange diving (which was also great!). I wish we had arranged more of our activities through Brisas del Sur. It might have made things a little easier! The casa is very clean. They even cleaned our rooms while we were out during the day. The only drawback is that it's a bit far from the beach, but so are the majority of the casas particulares in Playa Giron. There are also some roosters who like to show off their crowing in the morning, but again, that's probably true of just about everywhere you stay around there. I'd definitely recommend it!

We were a two couples group and we only went for one night, but we decided to stay longer because of the food and the owners (kenia and Roberto) who were extremely kind with us. We dived at Punta Perdiz, which is an amazing place and we went to the "Salinas" which is a little far away but the lovely couple who manage the place made our decition clear. If you can choose, take the room at the end of the home. the one at the entry, could be so noisy

First off, you should only go to Playa Giron if you like diving. The diving at the beaches north of town is absolutely beautiful and highly recommended, but the town itself was dirty and the beach is surrounded by a rusty seawall that takes away any beauty. Part of the vacation park near the beach is dilapidated to such an degree that goats are living in the pool. Museum is a fun excursion for 1 hour but not much more. Next, the casa. I had originally booked my 2 nights with the casa of Lydia and Julio, the parents of Roberto, but they were overbooked so they put me here. The location is not great. It is about 15 minutes walking away from the beach and Hotel and Museum Playa Giron. The room is basic but everything funtions. However, power went off repeatedly while I was there sometimes for multiple hours, while it kept on working in the house. The reason to go to this casa is the (sea)food; both the crab and lobster I had were absolutely delicious. Breakfasts are good as well. The room (25cuc) and dinners (15 and 12 cuc) were quite expensive for the quality provided and the owners overcharged me for breakfast (5cuc instead of 4cuc as promised). Maybe the experience is different for guests who speak (better) Spanish, but I did feel a bit like they are looking at you like a walking bag of money.
