Three friends and I had the perfect meal here as a Saturday night treat whilst on a weekend away. We had been warned to book weak in advance - 5 weeks was sufficient. It was worth the rather long drive from out holiday cottage. Cocktails to start were superb, even the non-alcoholic ones for our non drinker. Great Amuse Bouches... More

Stayed here for one night to meet up with some friends. We had a double room in the Inn, up one flight of stairs. Very individual rooms, beautifully designed to be sympathetic with the age and style of the building. Lovely big bathroom. Bedroom with double bed. Curtesy tray contained tea pot with tea bags, coffee cafetiere with ground coffee,... More

Really enjoyable stay, attentive staff and a great meal. Made a real difference to our business meeting. Rooms are lovely, cosy and relaxed. All this set in beautiful Herefordshire countryside. The menu was interesting and the prices were good.

Our visit was a Saturday night stay, with dinner on the Saturday night and breakfast on Sunday morning. We stayed in a room in the main inn building. The room was large, the bed was comfortable with lovely bed linen, tea and coffee making facilities were good, the brownies were delicious, the only challenge was trying to get the loo... More

My husband, baby girl & I had the most spectacular lunch at The Stagg last week. Tasty homemade bread and crisps, fillet steak cooked perfectly for me and the vegetarian Wellington for my husband, he said he could eat it all day it was the best he has ever tasted! We both had the legendary bread and butter pudding for... More

We stayed here for a night in a room in The Vicarage which was very comfortable with a great bath in the room. The restuarant itself was quite informal but had a good choice on the menu and lots of choice on the wine and drinks menu. Before we left our room for the meal we had a soak in... More

Very charming building, room is adequate. It was quite difficult to book a room here and the landlady is very off hand bordering on rude. She doesn't appear to need the custom. however the staff are very polite and helpful. The breakfast is very nice with a good choice. Our evening meal, there was three of us, was good, my... More

Called by for lunch hoping The Stag would be open - and it was. We don't eat here too often so it is still considered as a treat. We were not disappointed with the food and the service as they were both exceptional. We had a mix of courses from the menus offered with home made crisps and other light... More

The Stagg is a favourite destination in our family, whenever we have something to celebrate, or for a treat when we don't. But one recent weekday evening we just dropped in, just two of us, without having booked. As ever, the quality of cooking was sublime, and we were delighted that they've stopped serving bread in those silly little sacks.... More
