We are situated 1 1/4 miles on the outskirts of a beautiful Victorian town named Llandrindod Wells, which nestles amongst the Black Mountain and the the Brecon Beacons. Refreshments have been taken for centuries in the site of todays Bell Country Inn. The hostelry was built for thirsty drovers taking their stock from West Wales to the markets of Gloucester and Hereford. We are the new owners of the Bell and have just finished a complete refurbishment. The Bell now offers guest accommodation comprising of 10 en-suite bedrooms, all to a high standard. Two bars and a restaurant.

Stayed one night at the Bell in order to break a journey. The hotel room was very comfortable and spotless and the ensuite was a good size with a bath and efficient shower over.
Booked a meal in the restaurant which was excellent and well priced and there was a good choice of starters, main meal and sweet. The bar was well stocked and had a good range of draft beers and lagers. Breakfast was superb with orange juice, cereal, full English, freshly cooked, plus toast and coffee and included 'homemade' marmalade.
There was a very warm welcome on arrival and nothing was too much trouble. The owner was extremely friendly as were the staff and all were only to happy to offer advice and information about the local area. I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue to anyone, either to stay at or just for a meal out; definitely outstanding and worth another visit.

We spent 2 nights at this country inn. Our twin bedded en suite room was a good size and the beds were very comfortable. There were 2 good-size wardrobes with plenty of hanging space and shelves. The ensuite has a bath with round end section to accommodate powerful shower. We had B&B rate with very good cooked breakfasts but there is also an extensive evening meal menu which we also decided to try and were not disappointed. The dining and bar area are well appointed and very comfortable. The owners and their staff were very friendly and welcoming and we would certainly stay with them again if coming to the area.

Went for lunch. Set up with COVID safety in mind one way system, staff wearing masks. We had Baked camembert with fresh bread then homemade meringue nests, which was ample for us. Great food. Recommend.

This is our second visit to the Bell this year. Only 15 mins from the Royal Welsh Showground this conveniently located family run hotel is very cosy and welcoming. Excellent food with an extensive menu and brilliant wine list. Fantastic rural location a very relaxed atmosphere with extremely helpful hosts. We arranged for a group of 14 to meet for an evening meal and the staff were brilliant. We have already booked our next stay in October and highly recommend the hotel.

We stayed here as a last minute stop over on a long journey up to north Wales. We booked on route about 5 hours before we arrived and the manageress could not be more accommodating for us. We arrived at 7pm and went straight to the restaurant for food. We had a very friendly welcome to the establishment from the staff who were very responsive.

We ordered the curry and the lamb shank for us which was very very tasty and gluten free tomato pasta and peas for our 9 month old baby. Our baby was very well taken care of, a good, safe highchair with tray and his food ws even served in a suction bowl which I've seen no other restaurant provide before (well done!!). They even let us keep the left over pasta for his lunch the next day on our onward journey.

The room ws very clean and there was plenty of space for our travel cot as well as an ensuite bathroom. Lovely view of the countryside as well.

Breakfast was very good too with full English, coffee/tea, orange juice and cereals on offer. Baby had cut up strawberries, scrambled egg, gluten free toast and baked tomatoes for breakfast.

Overall the hotel is well presented, welcoming, clean and a great stop over for us on our journey. Baby even slept past 7am which was a first! Would definitely stay here again.

Tucked away in the rolling hills of Mid Wales is a restaurant that proved surprisingly bright, warm and spacious on a damp and cold winter lunchtime. From a vast menu and daily specials board, we chose the pork sharing board as a starter and then the rump and sirloin steaks. All were excellent, and the pork crackling was amazing. The ales were good too.

Excellent care and attention to our party of four with one wheelchair user and one diner with severe allergies , all information was provided as we needed it. As theone with allergies I was delighted to be able to eat a pudding, something I can't usually do when out with friends. thank you. We will return.

Called at The Bell Country Inn for lunch which is now under new Management. The menu was wide and varied and reasonably priced with very generous helpings. I went for the Beef cooked in wine with mashed potatoes. My wife chose the fish pie. There is only one word to describe the food and venue 'EXCELLENT' Mine Host and Staff were very friendly and welcoming, the dining area and the toilets were spotless, Looking forward to the next visit.

My wife, myself and our son visited this restaurant on a visit to pay our respects to our son's late Godfather, who was a very dear school friend of mine from the 1950s in Llandrindod Wells.. His grave is in the churchyard adjacent to the premises. We met another couple there, who were there for the same reason as ourselves. You are immediately struck by how neat and clean the premises are, and, as we had endured a three hour journey from our home in Oxfordshire, to get to LLanyre, needed to used the toilets. They were spotless, which is always a good gauge in my opinion of a good, well cared for establishment. There was a good choice on the lunch menu and the food arrived without any undue wait. It was well cooked, hot and delicious. We could not fault it. As we had not seen the other couple for about three years or more, due to the constrictions of Covid, we stayed for a very long time chatting and catching up on things. Finally I realised we must be holding up the restaurant staff who probably wanted to tidy up and perhaps close the premises. They in no way made this obvious or made us feel uncomfortable, as could have been the case. We complemented the staff on the premises, service and food and I told them that I would be putting a good review on Trip Advisor. We will probably be making the visit an annual event and we genuinely look forward to patronising the restaurant again to enjoy another excellent meal and welcome. I would highly recommend this establishment.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the Inn, which was very clean and comfy. We had two evening dinners which were of good quality. Breakfast offering was also extremely tasty. We must also complement the standard of service in the restaurant.
The restrictions in place due to covid were also very good.
Would recommend.

Yes, I think children would be welcome and catered for. Sometimes service can be a little on the slow side so take plenty of things to do!
