7 of us stayed here for 2 nights as it was our base for Mountain Bike Wales for the weekend. Lovely owners that couldn't do enough to help. Basic but great value food and a great breakfast served to us each morning. Oh and the beer was great and again great value. We will be back!

Don't let the slightly dated appearance fool you. Room had possibly the comfiest bed I've slept in for a while. Sat in bar with locals and owners and craic was great, really welcoming. Breakfast was also very nice, homecooked and wholesome.

We stayed in a little extension, two double rooms ensuite. They were small, very clean, GREAT beds. The shower was great. The lady owner was very kind, with a sense of humor. We had dinner in their inn and it was delicious. A stake with cheeps, salad, mushrooms in a garlic sauce and the Prince of Wales chicken. Superb and for... More

We had to make a trip to South Wales and found this place at the last minute. First impressions when we entered the bar was,Oh! It seemed very dark and dismal, but that was misleading because once the locals arrived it was very friendly and although we didn't know them they included us in their conversations, we didn't feel that... With little notice I needed to book a room for my daughters. I read the reviews for this place and thought, with some trepidation, I'd give it a go. The Prince of Wales is a typical local public house just outside Rhymney. The landlord, a friendly enough bloke, took me to the room where I was very pleasantly surprised. A... More

This place is a lovely little hideaway with only a few rooms. It's clean, tidy and the staff are excellent and will do anything to help you. I had a problem with the hot water in the shower but apart from that I loved the place. The rooms are quite modern and it's so nice to have fresh milk in... More
