I recommend staying in this lodge for a few days/week and seeing all the beautiful countryside this part of Wales has to offer and then travelling down to south wales. I live in Swansea so travel to Cardiff often for shopping and concerts etc. West Wales is also a beautiful part of Wales. Haverfordwest, Tenby are popular with lovely costal walks. I go there for day trips but have never stayed down there so can't really recommend any particular lodge or cottage. Google search cottages around tenby and saundersfoot though and I'm sure you will find some beautiful ones. Let me know if you need any more help.
