We stayed in the Hayloft for one week , Exceptionally clean , well equipped and comfortable . There is some road noise at peak times but does not distract from stay.
The grounds are lovely with places to sit outside On site carparking is excellent.
We were met by owner Liz who showed us the accommodation and explained what was available in the local area.
We drove to the train station in Flint which is about 15 mins away you can access trains to Chester and connections to places like Liverpool but also the west side of North Wales such as Bangor , Conway etc . Llandudno is also on the route.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Mill Cottages

Had 4 nights in Millers Cottage starting on the 2nd of August. The cottage is very comfortable and clean, the kitchen is small (as stated on the web site) but is well equipped to cook meals. It is also worth mentioning that all the utensil'and crockery etc all appear to have been purchased for the cottage and not various oddments brought from charity shops.

Liz the owner was very welcoming and met us at the property when we arrived to show us around, she was happy to give advise at any time if required.

The area was amazing, beach is around 20 mins drive, we preferred walks near the estuary. There were plenty of walks without needing the car and several pubs in walking distance. This is something we always look for however unusually for us, we did not venture to a pub and were happy to stay in the cottage in the evening. There is also Ruthin Gaol/museum, St Winifred's Well Shrine and various castles to see, I was surprised at the cheep and often free parking at these attractions.

We had a lovely stay.

Stayed in the Hayloft while working on the Gwynt Y Mor windfarm and sailing out of Mostyn.

The hayloft is a lovely quiet idilic holiday cottage. Liz is very friendly and the cost of the accommodation is within budget for contractors. The cottage itself is very well equipped self catering style in a very quiet area, with Hollywell on 5 minutes drive and Mostyn only 10 minutes away.

Will definitely stay again the next time I’m in the area.

What a find, beautifully kept with everything one could ask for in a self catering cottage. The kitchen was efficient, the en-suite clean and spacious, the bedroom well aired with lots of storage for clothing. Very welcoming to my dog, a dog towel and bed were provided. Woodland walks on the doorstep.

Just come home from a 4 night break staying in the Millers cottage. Wonderful location, and what better place to stay and explore the countryside and coast of North Wales.
The cottage was well presented and with all the amenities on hand to make your stay in the cottage relaxing and enjoyable. A big thank you to Liz for making us both welcome and will certainly return in the near future.

We spent a very enjoyable week at the Old Mill Holiday Cottages. We rented the Long Barn which was spacious, comfortable and warm. The accommodation is well well-equipped and in a fantastic location with the lovely old towns of Mold, Ruthin and Denbigh a stone's throw away and the coast nearby. There is also plenty of great walking & cycling in the vicinity & no shortage of friendly country pubs. We particularly liked the Cross Foxes in the neighbouring village of Nannerch which serves a good Sunday lunch. Thanks again to Liz for making our holiday a special one. We we're made to feel very welcome and no request was too much trouble. We'll definitely be back!

Our last minute break in North Wales this weekend turned out to be something special.
We chose The Old Mill by chance searching for places to stay near Mold and boy were we lucky!
The building is exactly what it says and has been beautifully converted. We stayed in the hayloft which is a 1 bedroom apartment with great furnishing throughout. The lounge had a comfy sofa, tv, dining table, chairs etc. Everything you need should you choose a cosy night in. The kitchen is fully equipped and even has a dish washer.
The bathroom was ensuite with a fab power shower. The comfy bed made for a perfect nights sleep.
We ate at the pub next door called the cherry pie and loved so much it so ate there the following night too.
We were welcomed by Liz who we found to be very friendly and helpful.
The Old Mill is in an amazing setting and is an ideal start for small delightful walks.
We'll certainly be staying here again in the future.

A week's blissful stay in glorious September sunshine (sunshine ..yes..In Wales!)
The cottage is pure quality , pristine and clean and tastefully furnished and decorated with all your needs catered for with kitchen equipment .
The cottage is spacious and well laid out comfy bed and couch and high back chair .
It was immaculately clean and well aired . Dishwasher , fridge with freezer compartment , microwave and easy to operate oven and ceramic top .
Everything we needed was on hand and of course the accommodation is dog friendly .
T.V. in two rooms and wifi . Plenty of storage space and real wardrobes with lots of hangers .
There were DVDs and boxed games and books but as the weather was so good (yes..in Wales!) we spent most of the time in local walks or short car journeys thereabouts .
The grounds and the gardens are immaculate and well tended by Liz who would always stop for a chat whilst planting . It was a delight to do the woodland walk up at the top or just sit peaceful in the shade by the summerhouse listening to the birdsong and the breeze in the trees .
We ate every night in The Cherry Pie Inn next door , literally a few steps away and the food and welcome there are beyond compare, really excellent We loved our evenings in The Cherry Pie and really looked forward to our evening meal. We had Sunday lunch there but did not have lunch any other days although it is open from 12 till about 2:30 I think .
We found the map of the walks Liz provided very useful .We walked to The Fox Inn to try the real ales on draught , about 30 _40 minutes through lovely countryside , slightly steep to start with but soon get used to the walk .( The Crown is about the same distance just go to the right at the cottages instead of left for the Fox .) We found the Cross Foxes in Nannerch on the way back in the car from Loggerheads (which is a must do if you like beautiful scenery and a walk and have a dog ..or even if you don't) . The walk to The Cross Foxes is the other slightly shorter walk you can do ( starting from the other side of the road from The Cherry Pie Inn between the two bungalows . As the pub didn't open till 7 we didn't attempt that walk although we did the starter part to it often (just there and back to the am dram bench and that was really lovely...and easy..flat and running alongside a pretty stream .
We took a drive to the antiques centre which serves a tasty fruit punch and has impressive but inexpensive artwork from a talented local artist and then had a trip up to The Dinorben Arms in Bodfari for the lovely terrace view . The furthest we drove was to Denbigh and we walked the walls there after getting the key from the castle shop , that was well worth the trip. There are lots of places you can drive out to easily from The Old Mill but we found all we needed on our doorstep. The grounds and surrounding countryside were so pleasant we were more than happy to stay local although next time we book undoubtedly we would stay here again we might venture further afield as there is so much to see. We did do a quick visit Holywell ( can park in nearby Tesco ) and then came back via nearby Caerwys ...has to be visited if only to view the beautifully kept community loos ! I also bought a nicely priced garden ornament from an honesty box shop which had local produce, home made chutney and plants opposite the post office shop there, well worth a look as there is a derelict old courthouse building there too and a cafe and a pub ..but it was shut in the daytime when we visited .
Thank you Liz for a wonderful ,relaxing stay, it was perfect and excellent in every way.

We stayed at the wonderful holiday cottage The Long Barn within the Mill complex - exceptionally comfortable with everything provided, fabulous and comfy furniture, includes everything you need for a brilliant holiday or mini break. Great walks with the dog and within easy reach of many of North Wales beauty spots, castles to beaches. Wonderful welcome and support from Liz. Many thanks for a great weekend
