This amazing place offers many things to do while enjoying the relaxing atmosphere of San Luis. They have a beautiful circuit walk which provides amazing views of the area. Easy to follow paths leading down to the river, a perfect place to cool off or sit and read a book listening to the sounds of nature. We left feeling refreshed and recharged. We look forward to our next visit.

A beautiful location set in the mountains in San Luis about an 8hr bus drive from Buenos Aires airport. Take the overnight sleeping bus and you wake up in the centre of town at the bus terminal, with hosts ready and waiting to take you to this place. The place itself is quite a ways from the center of town so if you have your own car, it's a bonus so you can get around. Otherwise you are quite stuck at the Estancia. If you don't have a car, there is plenty to do....like relaxing! Or trekking in the mountains around your cabins, or trout fishing or swimming in the streams. And the hosts are very accommodating to help arrange visits, etc. and they even deliver your lunch or dinner to your cabin if you don't have a meal set up in the reception house. Make sure though, that you stop in town at the local Walmart for supplies for your cabins. Elda and Alfredo are amazingly welcoming as your hosts. Miriam and Miguel are also friendly members of the Estancia team. And Miguel cooks an amazing asado (BBQ)!! Try the goat if you get the opportunity, it's delicious. I stayed in Loma Vieja, one of the furthest cabins from the reception house. It is well set up with king bed, private kitchenette/bathroom and lounge area, along with Wi-Fi (that works most of the time) and cable TV for those times when you don't want to leave the cabin. And there's a hammock in the yard behind the cabin with an amazing view of the mountain range and valley...and of course for the all important siesta during the afternoon. The cabins have all you'd want for a relaxing stay. They're secluded from each other, so there's no chance of even bumping into anyone else if you don't want or choose to. I'd recommend Loma Vieja for couples or solo travelers and Canada Honda for families. It's perfectly set lower in the valley, in a picturesque "oasis" like setting and has plenty of space for children to run around out front. All in all, for a city girl like me, it was a peaceful stay in a secluded location. If you want people to lead you, or bright lights and 5-star accommodation, don't stay here. It's not for you and you won't appreciate what the Estancia has to offer. But if you're willing to switch off and take it easy or trek your heart out(!), then do yourself a favor and visit.

If you're looking for a place to disconnect and enjoy San Luis's natural beauty, Estancias Altos del Durazno will exceed your expectations in every way. Off the beaten path, the ranch itself provides what are one of Argentina's greatest treasures - space and quiet. Hiking and relaxing characterized the day that we spent there, and we would have extended for several more days if time had permitted! The cozy cabins are very comfortable and the hiking paths are perfect for a half-hour stroll or a longer trek. The owners are very welcoming and professional. Estancia Altos del Durazno is a perfect place to relax, recharge your batteries, and bring life back into perspective.

Just last week my boyfriend and I stayed at Estancia Altos del Durazno, and it far exceeded our expectations! It was exactly what we were looking for. We were completely surrounded by nature, in the middle of the sierras. The cabins are so cute and cozy, with a fireplace inside to curl up by. The staff were amazing too. Really wonderful service. They even had the fire set up when we got there so all we had to do was just light the match. I would recommend this for couples or for a family trip. We certainly look forward to staying here again when we return to San Luis.

We had a great but all too short stay at the Estancia in late August. Quiet, peaceful, a beautiful setting, great walks, excellent hosts and so close to San Luis. We especially enjoyed the dark cold nights. We would definitely return.

If you are looking for a great place where to stay close to San Luis than this is it. Ask Alfredo and Patricia to take you for a full day excursion (horse riding ...) in the surrounding mountains. Don't miss a nice swim in the river below the cabins, the water is pure and not too cold.

Estancia Altos del Durazno offers five very attractive cabanas, spaced out in the hills of the vast Argentine Sierra. Each stone cabana is very well designed, has a kitchenette and nice bath, and is built with aesthetic touches such as polished stone in the bathrooms. I believe Canada Honda is the choicest one as it's in the flat valley with a mountain stream running by the terrace, but each is private and has trees and flowers around the building. Owners Patricia and Alfredo and their staff were extremely helpful, patient and attentive. As we had no car we asked for meals to be brought to us; they were delivered by ATV, still warm and always delicious. And, as horseback riding is not actually at the estancia, Alfredo happily drove us to a splendid place where we enjoyed a 2 hour ride through stunning countryside on excellent horses. This estancia is a great place and we highly recommend it.

My time in this place was magical, it highly exceeded our expectations. I felt like I was in 'the little house on the prairie' in the 19th century... There was no plastic, no reminder of our contaminated and stressing life. Everything in the cottage was hand-made, cozy and beautiful. There was nothing in it to remind us we were in a 'hotel'. However, we had all the comforts we needed - microwave, heater, fridge, Tv, etc.- The owners are great, they are professionals who made the wise choice of the natural life. They speak several languages and are most helpful and welcoming. Very smart people. I can't really think of anything that needs improvement there, everything was perfect. I never go to the same place twice as I like visiting new places. BUT all I can say now is next time I visit Argentina I will definitely spend some time in Altos del Durazno. It is the ideal place to remind ourselves of the simplicity and beauty of nature and life. A place that really makes you stop and smell the roses.

Our stay at Estanzia Altos del durazno was fantastic it was like going back 100 years. The owners Patricia and Alfredo are professionals who have created an idyllic holiday destination where the stresses of our workaday lives just disappeared. These timeless stone cottages are distanced from each other to give a feeling that the whole 600 hectares belonged to us, they are simply furnished with rustic handcrafted furniture, and beautiful quilts and blankets made by Patricia. They are comfortable and cosy with electric heating and an open fireplace for winter, we actually had a fire one chilly evening as it can get cool at night, even in November due to the mountain climate. A Breakfast of home made bread and jams with coffee delivered each morning by the lovely owners was perfect after the soundest sleep. From the privacy of our cabin there were amazing views of the picturesque hills with friendly grazing horses and the occasional gray fox, there are also archeological sites of indigenous refuges that were amazing to discover and explore across the miles of open landscape. There are also miles of river and rock pools to explore and swim in, We also loved the birdlife, our favorite sightings were Woodpeckers and Hummingbirds right outside our cabin. On the way into the property there is a lady who has a farm gate store and sells very tasty jams, salamis and the best honey I have ever tasted.
