Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely place ran by lovely people. The food is really nice, there is quite a few options to choose from and at a reasonable price. It is well maintained, clean and comfortable. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend + away i would definitely go here.

Stayed here in pod 9 for 2 nights in August . Although very basic the pod was sturdily built and good value for the money paid. Small details like hooks for hanging coats and a small piece of furniture for stacking clothes would be have been appreciated . The site itself was lovely and the owners Dave and Karen were delightful. The cafe was a nice facility and served a cracking vegan breakfast. All in all a great stay.

Lovely place, has everything we needed to have a relaxing bank holiday weekend. Busy but not overcrowded. Worth going just to meet the lady that I presume is one of the owners. Also has donkeys, geese and goats. Oh. And cake. There was some good cake.

What a gem of a site, beautifully located in a quiet country location well set for families. The site itself probably hosts 30 units? The majority with electric hookup the play area is a welcome addition although plenty of space in front of the units for kids to play. The facilities worked well with 3 showers in the gents, a family/disabled room and would assume same number in the ladies. The cafe/shop stocks what you need (ours was milk and ice cream with the odd draft beer) we also had a bacon/sausage sandwich on the morning that we left which went down well. Location wise we used it for exploring The Forest of Dean and had a fab time cycling there, went for a couple of runs straight out of site which worked well for us.

We were told about this place via friends, had no idea it was here so its like a secret little gem! We have been staying for years in the Forest of Dean towing our caravan to our usual site near Lydney. So after our little tip we gave this place a go. Well we couldn’t be more pleased! The location is great lovely and quiet, no street lights or other light disturbance, so the night sky view there for us was fantastic! From the moment you come in you see a well maintained and smoothly run site. We met Dave (Who was fab) who sorted us out and even parked our caravan for us and within minutes we were setting up and relaxing. The field is very big and plenty of space to chill and you don’t feel squashed in. It was busy but still quiet due to the size of the field. The shower and toilet blocks were well maintained and had all you need. There is a cafe/bar and we tried their own cider with apples from the orchard. It is more potent than you think. They also serve food, home made pizzas and other items. We ate there one evening and was a great meal! The location is great and we were in the main part of the Forest of Dean within 20 minutes. There are footpaths around the farm so you can get to nearby pubs and out and about the countryside. This is great if you have dogs (which are allowed) as you can spend your time here and not have to venture out in the car at all if you want. We liked it so much we left our caravan here! Dave has limited indoor and outdoor spaces to rent and we took the offer up. We have already booked further visits and we can see this being our new place for the next few years! Couldn’t fault it! Hats off to all the staff who we saw worked so hard (It was the hottest weekend of the year 30+ degrees) all smiling and happy to help . That made it for us as well. There were a lot of people on site and they went above and beyond in our eyes!

Always find Apple Orchard friendly and helpful. Since our last visit there is an addition of a donkey as well as goats and they were all super friendly with our Labrador. Very quiet when we were there and friends joined us for a lovely week and weekend. We sat outside alfresco eating and weather made our evening. I would highly recommend this site.

We just returned from a fabulous weekend stay at Apple Orchard! The toilets were super clean, showers hot with lots of pressure and the grounds had amazing views. The cafe on site is a great bonus, we had lunch one day and little man had lots of ice cream! The park was perfect for those with kids, and they even had donkeys and goats that the kids loved to visit. This is definitely one of the better sites we’ve stayed, and Carolyn & Dave were great hosts! I would recommend 100%

We have just returned from a weekend at Apple Orchard with our 10 year grandson. From the outset there was such a warm welcome - Carolyn and her husband are down to earth and seem to do anything to make their customers feel relaxed. Pitches are great and go round the edge of a large field. The grass is soft underfoot and not muddy. The setting is beautiful with things for children to do. The cafe is a real asset and unusual for a site of this size…menu choices and food were good. There’s things for children to buy like ice creams etc. Facilities were of a very good standard and always clean. Booking was easy and prices very reasonable. We were there for a large Rally and Carolyn and her team were so flexible and helped to make the event a great success. We were extremely impressed !
