On our first visit we ate at this hotel, this time we stayed and hopefully will stay again. The building is quirky to say the least and has been well used, the photo collection is well worth looking at, life in the 1920s-30s must have been great if you had money. Stairs everywhere so not ideal for the less mobile....

We use this place when visiting the forest of dean, the prices are very reasonable and the management and staff are friendly and helpful. The bar is nice and cosy with a pool table and sky sports available. The Indian restaurant is very good and I would recommend it.

This is an ancient building, much added to, and full of steps, long corridors and many rooms. The bar operates as a local pub, and there is an excellent little onsite Indian restaurant. The owner and his staff are friendly, professional and welcoming. It's by the road, which means some traffic noise, and the bar is audible in the rooms...

This is a decent low cost hotel. Once it was a very fine establishment but time has taken its toll. The room that we had was small and the shower room unnecessarily tiny, however it was clean and tidy and the bed comfortable. The plumbing was noisy and traffic noise was intrusive so our night was disturbed. Both issues could...

This is a large rambling old building (or possibly buildings) with numerous steps and staircases so not suitable for the less mobile. The hotel is somewhat shabby, but the dining areas are smarter. The only meal we had was a full English breakfast which was excellent. The room was comfortable but the en-suite was small - a shower barely big...

I have stayed here numerous times over the years and with changes of owners the hotel has steadily improved in terms of welcome, facilities, decor, etc. The curry on offer in the hotel restaurant is delicious: full of flavour and not at all greasy. Ale kept well and plenty of other choices for wine/cider. Stayed for five nights in August...

I stayed there 2 weeks ago with my nephew for 2 nights while visiting friends, we were met by very friendly staff & shown to our room. Yes the hotel is quite dated but we had a lovely room to the front which has being newly refurbished, the beds were extremely comfy & had 2 great nights sleep. We found...

Stayed here last night. What a lovely place. Staff were so accommodating and friendly. We took our disabled granddaughterwith us and nothing was to much trouble for the staff and she was made to feel at home. Highly recommend the restaurant , especially the Indian menu, we had a fab meal. Room was spacious, very clean and comfortable (room 15)....

Hotel a little dated but it's a extremely old hotel so was not expecting to be modern but the helpfulness of the hosts second to none. Had a family room which was spacious and everything to our satisfaction. Had a 2 night stay as attending a friends wedding. Breakfast was good . They also have an Indian restaurant within the...
