Stayed here during a weeks walk along Hadrians Wall. Arrived very wet and cold to be met by Jodie who was welcoming but said she was there alone and wasnt confident about providing dinner. That said the evening meal of lamb shank was very good. Our room was very cold, we had a bath to warm up but the water... More

Perfect place to stay - We arrived after a long day of walking through glorious countryside and found Margaret waiting for us with a warm welcome and lovely home. Delicious food, comfy beds, packed lunch was the best of the week and stunning views from our bedroom. Huge thanks

I am amazed by some of the negative reviews as the owners were lovely! Really welcoming and kept our beers topped up as we relaxed in front of a roaring fire! Food was lovely and huge portions, we had pre ordered evening meal. Would agree with other reviews that you need to be aware the bathroom is shared, so if... More

We were a party of 8 very tired and wet walkers. Nothing was too much trouble, drinks when we arrived, lovely homemade supper and a fab breakfast. Of all the places we stayed at along the 84 mile walk Margaret was the most charming. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING.

Walking Hadrians Wall this B & B is located at a convenient stopping point. Almost the only one around ,.situated at the top of a very steep hill with lovely views. However on arriving at 16:00, the cleaning material and vacuum cleaner were still out and a funny disinfectant smell pervaded the air, and remained for the rest of our... More

I'm amazed to read any positive reviews of this awful place. I'm not sure they were written by real people. The meal I was provided with apparently consisted of leftovers from the family lunch or some kind of precooked packaged meal heated in the microwave. My single room was tiny - at £85per night through a Hadrian's Wall booking/luggage transfer... More

We (myself from Doncaster & my 2 extended family from Ohio US) were fully looked after in every way. Hostess is a treasure and really goes the extra mile for you. We were very comfortable and the food was delicious. Rooms are neat and clean and spacious and the scenery is lovely. A really nice place to stay.

Sorry this is a bit late but I'd thought I'd already posted a review for this wonderful B&B. Myself and co walkers stopped here on the 2nd night of our week long trek (10th to 15th June 2013) and all agreed that this was a wonderful place for a stopover. My 16yr old nephew who has autism rated this the... More

Nice B and B with welcoming hosts. Rooms are a bit on the small side but pleasant. Evening meal was good with fabulous views over the hills. Packed lunch available for walkers, licensed for alcohol and a good full English in the morning.

We stayed here whilst walking the HWP, the B&B is ideal as it is right on the path. The setting is beautiful and the owner was very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. We had the four poster room (No4) and it was more than adequate although there is no TV in the room but hey, who cares when... More
