We had a very comfortable, well-furnished bedroom, the hosts were lovely and the breakfast was scrumptious! The location is very peaceful and right next to Offa Dyke's path. We visited Powis Castle on the way there and from there it was only a few miles down the road to Heath Cottage Farm at Forden, Welshpool.

Situated on the walk, this bed and breakfast is ideal from a location perspective. On arrival, you will be greeted by Mary and John, and given tea in a pretty china teapot with a tea cosy, and a delightful piece of home made cake. The bed room is simple in its decor but nice and clean and the bed comfortable....

We stayed here on our Offa's Dyke Path trek in july 2016. John and Mary welcomed us after a day of rain in their wonderful cottage. Because pubs were closed Mary drove us to a nearby pub to have dinner. Fantastic people, fantastic place. Highly recommended.

John & Mary were on holiday when we tried to book for last weekend, thus Mary directed us next door to her daughter, Jackie's, beautiful new B&B. Before we even had our cases out of the car we were drinking a cup of tea and having a slice of freshly baked cake in front of a roaring log fire ~...

Whilst working away from home Mary and John provide all creature comforts and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are 1st class with a variety of in season homemade fruits and preserves and fresh duck eggs. Kind and generous hosts, in the countryside very close to Welshpool

This property was as close to the perfect B&B as I have visited. The hosts John and Mary could not have been more charming and helpful. John even drove us to a lovely nearby pub for our evening meal. The cottage is so picturesque, whitewashed, with honeysuckle climbing the walls – a garden full of roses. On arrival Mary gave...

Heath Cottage is right on the Offa's Dyke path and an ideal location to stay. Mary and John were wonderful hosts and gave a lift to and from Montgomery for us to explore and eat. We had a lovely room with great en suite. And of course a great breakfast.

U recently stayed here for 3 nights. What a lovely place and John and Mary are a very nice couple. The heating was on in the room for my arrival which was very good. I will definitely stay here again and recommend as much as possible. Again, thank you for looking after me Colette

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Recharge your batteries in our 280 year old home on Offas Dyke between Powys Castle [N.T.] and historic unspoilt Montgomery. The old house has an inglenook with log fire in the oak-beamed sitting room and uninterrupted views to Welsh and Shropshire hills. Heath Cottage is a working smallholding with ewes, lambs, free-range hens and ducks. We have been welcoming visitors to our home since 1981 whether they be walking Offas Dyke, exploring Mid Wales or breaking their journey on the way to the coast or Snowdonia. Guests tell us they sleep very well, have never tasted such eggs (free-range hen or duck!), marmalade to die for and the best homemade red currant juice they have had in their lives. ... more   less
