This was my third visit and I have reached a considered opinion. This restaurant is a refreshing addition to the eateries in this part of mid Wales, however a serious review is needed if it is to fulfil its true potential. I go to restaurants to be fed not fattened. Portion sizes are too big for my taste, which results...

Having read reviews beforehand we went to our two night break not expecting very much, I had booked the hotel as a "wowcher" deal which was two nights b&b and a bottle of prosecco on arrival. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by staff, and then checked into our room, the lovely lady booking us in informed me that we...

I cannot fault the staff, they were courteous and willing to help but... the room (No. 21) top floor was appalling. Black mould both in bedroom and ensuite. Untested electrical appliances (television, hair dryer, kettle, heater, bedside lamp), test labels expired in 2012. Bulb missing from lamp wall fixture. Unable to open windows in ensuite for ventilation and extractor fan...

If the Hafod Hotel is undergoing refurbishment, surely their primary objective before opening to the public should be to update the toilets, which frankly, were grim. The tiles had been painted at some stage to disguise their grubbiness. As for the frosted glass on the doors of the cubicles??!! No! No!No! People expect privacy when using the loos but here...

My friend and I went up to Hafod from Tregaron for lunch then ride back to Tregaron. We both had Ciabatta with chips. Lovely food fair play. We will call again soon. Loved the decor and staff were really helpful.

We were a group of 8 people at the end of a walk - walked in to a promising looking tea room. The tea when it came was cold - served in some sort of metal tea pot. I got the wrong tea and the waitress was less than impressed when I complained - no apology offered. Toilets were a...

Currently undergoing refurbishment in some of rooms but our room had comfortable bed and new bathroom, minor problem with shower/hot water but this was sorted very quickly! Food was very good and excellent service at breakfast and dinner, enjoyed walks nearby and approx 20min drive to Aberystwyth. Staff at hotel, Tina and Chris could not have been more helpful and...

We went on a Wowcher deal. Bed, breakfast and a bottle of Prosecco so it was very definitely value for money. The bedroom could do with updating, but it was clean and the bed was very comfy. The overall experience was very relaxing with excellent service from efficient and friendly staff. The food was great and the place is obviously...

It's currently going through a refurbish which is great but means we had a lot of glitches. First room had no heating, burns in the carpet, kettle on the floor and a bathroom from the 80s so we got moved. Next room was better. However still had to have two manual heaters. They didn't have us staying for two days,...

First visit here and would definitely go back. The food was lovely and the service was spot on. We were a group of 4 and everyone commented on how nice the food was and the character of the hotel. The bar was welcoming and lively with plenty seating available. All round fantastic evening.
