I visited the Hafod Hotel on a biking tour with a few friends. Like many bikers, we're all silver haired fellas reliving our youth and more likely to be seeking a comfortable bed for the evening than a raucous night on the tiles. We thought the Hafod might suit the bill for us. The staff were all very welcoming and...

On the roadside opposite the Mynach Falls and entrance to Devil's Bridge and ideal spot for walkers and tourists. This 4-story hotel is undergoing substantial refurbishment and will be a glorious example of a hotel of its time. We stayed on the 3rd floor, which with two dogs was far from ideal - small but clean. The ground floor offers...

Took a little time for our meals to arrive, but this was because the food was cooked (perfectly) to order. Plates and food were very hot so our food was hot to the last mouthful. Very reasonable prices on the main courses, puddings a bit pricey but very good as well.

We picked this hotel because it was on Wowcher and we wanted a hotel near Aberystwyth which we were going to use purely as a base. We ended up eating there two evenings out of three as the food was fantastic and one evening we walked into the bar and there was someone playing a Welsh harp and the locals...

This was my third visit and I have reached a considered opinion. This restaurant is a refreshing addition to the eateries in this part of mid Wales, however a serious review is needed if it is to fulfil its true potential. I go to restaurants to be fed not fattened. Portion sizes are too big for my taste, which results...

Having read reviews beforehand we went to our two night break not expecting very much, I had booked the hotel as a "wowcher" deal which was two nights b&b and a bottle of prosecco on arrival. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by staff, and then checked into our room, the lovely lady booking us in informed me that we...

I cannot fault the staff, they were courteous and willing to help but... the room (No. 21) top floor was appalling. Black mould both in bedroom and ensuite. Untested electrical appliances (television, hair dryer, kettle, heater, bedside lamp), test labels expired in 2012. Bulb missing from lamp wall fixture. Unable to open windows in ensuite for ventilation and extractor fan...

If the Hafod Hotel is undergoing refurbishment, surely their primary objective before opening to the public should be to update the toilets, which frankly, were grim. The tiles had been painted at some stage to disguise their grubbiness. As for the frosted glass on the doors of the cubicles??!! No! No!No! People expect privacy when using the loos but here...

My friend and I went up to Hafod from Tregaron for lunch then ride back to Tregaron. We both had Ciabatta with chips. Lovely food fair play. We will call again soon. Loved the decor and staff were really helpful.

We were a group of 8 people at the end of a walk - walked in to a promising looking tea room. The tea when it came was cold - served in some sort of metal tea pot. I got the wrong tea and the waitress was less than impressed when I complained - no apology offered. Toilets were a...
