Me and my wife stayed at the Bio Thermales in July for 4 days and loved it. When we went the local kids were in the middle of a school break so the place was quite crowded. We were able to hang out until after the crowds left and had the place all to ourselves after hours and it was... More

My husband and I loved our stay here and will make sure to come back some day. The location is breath taking, the hot springs are unique and relaxing, and the sound of the jungle was soothing. I would recommend to couples, adventurers, and families. Kathy made sure we were completely taken care of. Bernie's carpentry and architecture is something... More

We spent our first few nights in Costa Rica at Bio Thermales, and with Kathy's help, hired one of the drivers she works with to drive us from San Jose to the hot springs. If it is your first time in country, or you are not familiar with driving in rough terrain with little to no lighting or street signs,... More

We rented the two bedroom casita and had an awesome back porch facing the jungle. We were treated to views of mountains, birds, monkeys and a sloth. The hot pools were so very relaxing and available to us 24/7. Bernie and Kathy are excellent hosts and the property feels safe and intimate.

I stayed here for 3 nights. there are several hot spring pools as well as a few cold water pools. The owners are very friendly and helpful. This is a unique and beautiful spot to check out. There are many different hot springs locations in Costa Rica, but this one is unique and has character. You can stay in the... More

This resort is wonderful, If you are looking for a real Costa Rica experience I highly recommend this place. We stayed in the treehouse, but quite honestly any one of the Casitas would have been nice. If you are looking for transportation and you are lucky enough to book Frank your trip will be all the more special. He goes... More

I had the best time at Bio Thermales. We went the first week of November and the weather was great. It did rain the night we arrived but it wasn't too bad. The next day was beautiful and sunny! We booked the tree house for 2 nights and it was definitely an experience I won't forget! The sounds at night... More

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. Just to clarify for other interested guest, the sound at night are the natural sounds of the rainforest and the creek below. Some guests commented on the delight sleeping surrounded by rainforest sounds. Again thank you Bernd Zabel, Owner More

Very Nice! Kathy is wonderful with her directions and pointers. 'Johan' and his family were very welcoming and had us over for a feast of fresh tilapia - awesome. If you want a peaceful place to stay, away from the tourist stuff, this is the place. Beautiful hand carved furnishings, comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, CLEAN. The only knock I'd... More

Most delightful accommodation in a private location with lots of beautiful hotspring pools lovingly crafted by an interesting American couple Bernie and Kathy and a really very large swimming pool too... “The Tree House will give you a view of the property and the hot springs. The Tree House has many screened windows (no glass), so be prepared that if you leave lights on at night in the Tree House you may have little insects work their way in. The Master bedroom loft does have a mosquito net. The Casitas appear to have traditional windows and lovely porches. If insect noise bothers you, you may want to bring ear plugs in case the cicadas are really loud to you.”
