First of all, the hotel is in the course of renovation. Literally at the moment. Therefore the rooms are lottery: you may get an unrenovated room, or you may get a freshly renovated one but in acorridor full of plaster, dyes and equipment. Mine was such. Sparklingly new and clean and quite bare, even without night curtains. Bed was surprisingly comfortable though. On the second day of my stay at least tea making equipment appeared in the room. No toiletries. Toilet and shower are in separate rooms.
Summing up – if you are on tight budget and need to stay in the town centre, the place is OK. If you need comfort, look elswhere.

We stayed in this hotel for one night in June 2014 and would never stay again. We paid 100 LTL for the room and would have to say I have stayed in better hostels. It was evident from the decor that the hotel is maintained by purchasing the cheapest materials.Room reminded me of a cheap B&B in Blackpool but worse.

Faults:

- The skirting boards in the room were three different types of wood. walls were dull and grubby room smelt stale and found hair on the floor. Room not decorated more mis-matched.

- Hole in the wall were some short of plug unit was filled with a bit of plastic that was hanging off the wall

- Under the window there were pipes running along the floor going through our room to the rooms next to us no attempt to hide but have seen photos issued by the hotel of what looked like the same room but pipes are not visible :-).

- Bed did not have a proper mattress and was rock hard leaving us with back pains the following morning it felt like I was sleeping on the floor.

- Sink in the bathroom was unstable you couldn`t lean on it when brushing teeth nearly came away from the wall and drained very slowly in fact with no plug and leaving the tap on you could fill the basin.

- Shower cubicle was very flimsy reminded me of a shower unit from a caravan very light and flimsy made of a cheap thin plastic that threatened to collapse if you leaned on it. The tiles had not been cleaned properly and had a lot of mildew in the grout.

- Toilet would not flush properly and flush button came off in my hand.

One of the worst things was when we returned to the hotel after a night out we came back to people sitting in the reception area and people were smoking which we could smell in our room as non smokers we did not like.

The staff were not very welcoming either on arrival no smile on check out woman was grumpy no good byes or anything just grunts. We had just stayed for two nights in Kaunas before staying here at the City Kaunas hotel a two star budget hotel which cost 50 LTL (£10) more per night but what a difference they made the customer feel welcome room was bright but plain but it worked the beds were really comfy.

It was a shame since its in a great location.I would only recommend this place to someone who smokes and is not bothered about dull patched up work and can sleep on a stone floor then you might be able to sleep on the bed and wants to pay rock bottom price but am sure for a couple of pounds more you could get so much more. Might suit a backpacker or contractors needing digs but not bothered about appearance and odours.

When we arrived at reception we were greeted very hospitably. As we were cycling we were given a safe place to keep our bikes overnight. The suite we booked had great Wifi reception (room #1 the suite, near reception) , a fridge and kettle. A separate bedroom and sitting area with sofa and table and chairs was nice. Even though the hotel is dated, the rooms are clean and comfortable.
The hotel is located right in the main square of Alytus. There are plenty of places to eat and a park nearby. We had a nice tourist brochure "Alytus on Foot" which prooved very helpful
A walk through a beautiful park nearby with fountain and rose garden was pleasant..
Sorry tagmanMiddlesborough but you get what you pay for, ask for a suite next time with Wifi before you check in!

I was traveling by bicycle, and they provided a safe place for it right away. My single room was clean, comfortable, and cozy, and I felt very good about my stay. It was nicer than I expected, at an excellent price, and I would be happy to stay here again.

There are three positive things about this hotel: very centrally located, pet friendly (no additional charge) and friendly reception staff). Rooms are outdated, in need of renovation, towels worn out, no breakfast offered and hard to get it before 10 o’clock anywhere else (only Vaidila Hotel offers breakfast from 8 o’clock, but make pre-booking).

After wasting a good couple of hours at the border, I arrived at this place quite late. Parking is right behind the hotel. The receptionist was friendly enough, despite speaking only Russian. The cable TV had ONE foreign channel, which was more than what I expected. The hotel may look a bit outdated, but who cares... comfy enough and perfect for my needs.

My first impression was excellent since the reception desk clerk immediately offered me a safe and locked place to put my bike. Then I was positively surprised by the price: €18.00 for a single room. My room was very pleasant and cosy, and the reception desk clerk was easy-going and helpful in every way.

Extremely poor price-value ratio. We paid 75 euros for triple room. It included breakfast, which we had to take in a cafe about 200 meters from the hotel. Hotel is old fashioned and outdated, would never stay here again

I stayed for one night in this place, and I find this place quite simple. The room was clean, I appreciated the fact that they put a kettle in the room, which is pratical if you want to have breakfast in the morning. It was a place calm enough.
