During the difficult times of 2020. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a great location for our annual holiday. The owners have done so much during the Covid restrictions to make their guest comfortable by limiting the pitches available
All Facilities are open .. no queues....cleaned regular... small shop is closed though but it’s location to off site shops and Truro town Center this was never an issue .
Quite site , very helpful site warden and owner.
Really central to both coast .

First of all Kate and the wardens are lovely. Very friendly and helpful. The shower/toilet blocks are kept clean and the touch points around the site such as power points and the taps are regularly sprayed with disinfectant.
On a separate note please ignore the hideous comment by “tommy”. Our caravan was almost next to their tent and we had less noise coming from the group of lads than him and his family. Every other word was the f word and how he spoke to the women was disgusting. Tyres weren’t slashed, his pride was dented in front of his mates when he was asked to leave the site for being threatening and abusive.
Well done Kate and co for handling the situation with dignity.
This has been a one off here which is a small and friendly camp site.
The field for the dogs is also very handy to let them off for a run.

Booked after finding site on internet and glad we did. Smaller site but really well set out. Facilities block was always clean, closed for 2 hours for deep cleaning - although was allowed to use it on arrival during this time.

Lots of hock up point, good size pitches, multiple water points and free WiFi. Able to have a gazebo at no extra cost - which was really appreciated.

Although website says arrival from 12:30, we got a text as soon as our pitch was ready so got in earlier.

Due to COVID can’t use the sinks to wash up but can get water and take back to pitch.

The owners were really approachable and very knowledgable of things to do in the area and places that needed to be visited either earlier or later in the day.

Helpful directions to all the local supermarkets shown in the on sight shop window.

Keypad operated barrier at the park entrance and no restrictions as to how late you can arrive back.

Loved our stay and would definitely recommend it

We stayed in mid July for a long weekend when , unfortunately the weather was not at it's best , but thankfully Summer Valley made up for this with its location and surroundings.
We found the campsite to be very peaceful, relaxing & friendly with all the facilities, showers loo's etc were kept spotless & always available.
The grounds are excellent , open enough for pitching & parking yet still having a sense of privacy. The four chicken's that are free to wander the site are quirky & very amusing .

Truro is just a ten minute drive away with lots of good shopping, from craft stalls to high end designer, also Truro offers a great evening experience with lots of bars & restaurants to suit all ages , we took taxis each way (£12 ish) though there is a bus service approximately 15/ 20 mins walk from the site. For any on the ground information we suggest contacting the site wardens who are all friendly, with a big shout out for George and Karen who were especially warm & welcoming throughout the days & nothing was to much trouble.

As a side note we would mention that the Guinea pig area could do with a little T.L.C.

If you are looking for a R & R location, within a short drive of both coasts & close to the A30 , this is it.

We have spent 3 weeks at this campsite as our French trip was cancelled. Kate and the wardens have been so helpful and flexible from the start. The site is very well run and very clean!! We always felt secure in the cleanliness stakes - their regime is above and beyond what is required by HMG.

The site is on a slope but the wardens were very helpful is getting us set up and level.

We have had a wonderful 3 weeks - ideally situated to explore what Cornwall has to offer.

Kate, thank you and your staff/family for keeping us safe in every sense of the word and ensuing we had a happy holiday. You saved our summer holidays and made our staycation something special.

Good luck in your future ventures. ❤️

Arrived after 12 despite us receiving a tex saying our pitch was ready and can arrive early which was great. To be greeted by Kate made us feel at home and so welcome straight away. Our was was more than adequate and lovely location on the site. The wardens on site were also so helpful helping other family members with their caravan. The site was spotless and all government guidelines were followed more than adequately. So made us feel very safe.
Other campers were friendly and provided us with useful tips and places along with Kate and her team provided.
All we can say is we highly recommend this site children played safely and so happily together on site.
Needless to say we will be returning again for sure.
Thanks again to Kate and her Family wish them all well in the future.

I have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Summer Valley Touring Park. We were given a warm welcome on arrival and chatted with Kate the owner. Summer Valley provides a variety of options for stay and is well kept with stunning views. The bathroom facilities were clean and showers hot. I would highly recommend staying at Summer Valley for a peaceful stay in the lush Cornish countryside.

The site should be advertised as sloping, we really struggled to pitch our caravan which was dangerous due to the steepness of getting out of the caravan. We had to go to a DIY shop to buy wood to build up the steps. If you have toddlers as we had with us in my sons tent, make sure you ask to be sited at the top of the site away from the bar and play area.when I say play area, it consisted of 2 swings attached to a monkey bar frame. I would hardly call it a play area and in my opinion it needs updating. For the whole of our 2 week stay we had children running between our tent and caravan, even when we put a windbreak up to try and stop them. They were even running through our washing on the line. When told not to, these children were rude and disrespectful. They were out running round and shouting after dark, shining torches. When my son complained about the noise level he was met with negativity and asked that Chris, the manager, came down to see him the next morning. This did not happen and on our final night my son and daughter-in-law heard these said children saying “that’s that man’s tent, let’s make more noise” and had a lad pointing his toy gun, touching his tent and firing. This is not acceptable, especially with a 2 and 3 year old in the tent. The whole situation was not dealt with correctly. Also, if you do book and have a disability make sure to mention it on booking due to the slope of the site. I only went up to the toilet block twice as I struggled with the incline. The block housing the shared showers, toilets, dishwashing and laundry could also do with updating. The toilet with the baby changing facility was closed too. May be better out of the main school holidays but certainly won’t be returning!

Great size pitches with a lovely family orientated atmosphere. The owners were very welcoming and were on hand if anything was needed. The site is family friendly with the added bonus of rabbits and guinea pigs to coo over. The location of the site is brilliant as we travelled around Cornwall visiting many tourist attractions and with most being under an hours drive away. The facilities were clean with a washing machine and dryer being a reasonable price. Would definitely stay here again.

A disappointing return to the camp that we enjoyed last year. The problem being is that the site is rarely monitored by the owners and it is a free for all. The only time you see the owners are when you arrive to tell you where you are pitched and so on.

A tent in our proximity decided to play the tv series Prison break through their high bass speakers. After informing the owners of it (and I’m aware a few other tent guests did as one showed me a text they sent), the owners did nothing! Only when on day three, I called them direct as it was intolerable. The owner answered and sent his wife out to tell them to turn it down. They then turned on the radio. Problem not resolved and disappointed how long it took the owners to react.

Midweek a camper van came down and set up the disco lights. Another guest had to tell them to turn down the bass music as again it was too loud. The camp rules states no excessive music/noise. Again, no owners to be seen monitoring the
small site.

Also we were told that you could only put up your tent after 12 noon. One morning we were woken by two lads, shouting to each other as they were putting up their tent up at 8am!

The camp site has a designated area for dogs to be walked and that wasn’t used for the week we were there. In fact many dogs were walked past our tent and on one occasion I had to clean up after I found dog poo within 12 feet of our tent (we have children that played). Where was the monitoring of the owners?!?

In terms of upgrades the five showers and the small playground are the same. The only upgrade I saw was the huge 8’ fence put up around the owners house which speaks volumes.

I enjoyed my stay last year but we will be looking in to other sites next year. Not the same and wish it was.
