We were slightly surprised when we arrived to find the overhead sign boarded up and the place looking in a general state of disarray, had I not previously been to the property when it was known as "the riverbank" we would have struggled to find the place at all. The room was small and basic, clean(ish) however we were plagued...

Good location and rooms a decent size . However the rooms are clearly secondary to the bar and restaurant downstairs and this is evident in all aspects . The breakfast was terrible with slow and casual service and no attention eg no glass for juice , 20 mins to take my order. The whole place is grubby and needs a...

I originally wrote this review under The Barley as it's changed names. I checked in alone as my husband was working in Truro for the weekend and he was meeting me after his shift at the hospital. The staff were fantastic, so friendly, took my case to my room, which was big, clean, and overlooked the river and cathedral, the...

We enjoyed our weekend getaway here. The room was lovely, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom excellent with a superb walk in shower.i didn't have breakfast due to an early start at work, but my wife enjoyed what was on offer. A nice place to stay, a great location next to the cathedral. Would definitely stay again!

Nice place to stay. Good clean room with a modern feel. Great shower room. Very clean and newly finished. Would recommend. Didn't eat at the hotel but it looked ok. Close to the town centre so plenty of restaurants to choose from. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only thing is limited parking but the car park across the road is...

2nd time of staying here. Great location and bedrooms are great. Friendly staff but slooow. Breakfast in the morning was good but took too long and second time of staying i have had to ask for cereal bowls to be put out. Its location is great and if you park over the road on the council car park it's cheaper...

Now called The Barley. Very centrally located. I stayed there one night. Was given a friendly welcome, with offer to take my suitcase upstairs. A large, clean, recently decorated bedroom with a view of Truro Cathedral. Large very comfortable bed. Large ensuite with monsoon shower, also immaculately clean. Free wifi. Did not eat there in the evening but had a...

We stayed one night at this hotel after a concert at the Hall for Cornwall. Our room was clean, tidy, warm and welcomining. Shower room was good but the tiles and grouting needed a good bleaching in the shower area. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. Only one choice of fruit juce available (pineapple) when we arrived and hardly any cereals....

I stayed 2 nights at the Riverbank last week whilst in Truro on business. I was really disappointed to find out the restaurant wasn't open during the week as this had been one of the reasons I had booked to stay there. I understand there is a new owner (within the last month) and this has resulted in a decision...

“There are only eight rooms and my family tell me all theirs were ok so you don't really have to worry about location. Beware traffic rounding the bend to the right when exiting onto the main road from the car park.”
