Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stopped for one night. Ann, the landlady, is very warm and talkative host, and was glad of the discount code for Ask on Lemon Street. The room was great, and had a shower stall in which was handy. Was very happy and wouldn't hesitate to return. Breakfast brought to room, too was nice.

My partner suffered a stroke whilst we were on holiday (for two days), and was consequently put into The Royal Cornwall Hospital. This meant that I was B&B hopping for just over a week. The only place I could get into at first was The Mannings Hotel, one of the most expensive in town. After that I stayed at The Whitehouse Inn with my partner’s daughter for a couple of nights. Desperately trying to find somewhere to stay, my friends found The Bay Tree. Quirky, but clean, with a continental breakfast which was enough to feed everyone in the guesthouse. The first day I was given, cornflakes, yoghurt, two bread rolls, butter, jams and marmalade, a banana, an apple, strawberries, cheese and chocolate biscuits. Plus orange juice and tea. I had a room at the back of the house and it was lovely to watch the birds in the garden. No en-suite, but the bathroom was only down a few steps. Bed was comfy too. On my first day there, Ann, was preparing food for a funeral, and she even gave me an egg sandwich, with the crusts cut off, of course. And my stay there was only a fraction of the price of the rooms I had previously stayed in. Ann is a vivacious lady, with a heart of gold. She was almost as delighted as myself when my partner was transferred to Torbay. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for Ann. I will never forget my stay.

Thank you, Anne! It's been a huge pleasure to stay in your guest house last week. I can't recommend your place high enough. Literally everything I needed, you managed to provide. Tourist advice on Land's End & Penzance, short cuts through Truro, each evening a tray full of fresh food I found after a long day at work. Absolute amazing! When I'm back in the area I will stay with you again. Great location - 6 mins to train station as well as centre of Truro.

I stayed at Baytree for one night in August having been airlifted from Isles of Scilly with a relative to Truro hospital. Anne was so kind, welcoming and helpful especially as I arrived late and booked last minute. Found in the centre of Truro and walking distance to all shops, Baytree was very clean and comfortable and a huge breakfast provided. I would definitely recommend if visiting Truro.

Loved my weeks stay at the bay tree. Ann was lovely and bubbley, would recommend the bay tree to everyone. Unfortunately there's no cooked breakfast but Ann did recommend a lovely little cafe down the road as I didn't want a continental breakfast.

I stumbled upon The Bay Tree Guest House whilst walking through Truro. The owner Ann was immediately inviting and let me have a peek at the last available room before I committed. The BnB was clean, tidy, warm and homely. Ann was the most amazing host, serving a plentiful breakfast to my room and helping me with bus timetables and taxi info. Also this BnB I.S great value for money and is perfectly located for walking around Truro, would most definitely recommend this place!

Me and my Mother went to a festival and found ourselves stuck for a place to stay with no train home, Anne let us stay and gave us a lovely room. She was kind and humorous and her BNB feels just like you're at home. The beds are really comfy and the room itself is just lovely. It's a continental breakfast, but you get so much we couldn't finish it! The next day she even gave us a trolley to take with us to help with all our camping gear and wouldn't hear anything about it when we said she couldn't! Overall it was fantastic and worth the stay, the rooms are really reasonable in price and if I ever do go to Cornwall again I'm definitely going to be trying to stay here again! Thank you Anne, the trolley made the trip home so much esier!

My mum (who came from Russia) and I stayed in the hotel for 4 nights in the busiest time of year, August. We had the most wonderful experience in the BayTree Guest house with Ann, our landlady. The guesthouse is very pretty with wonderful rooms, small flower garden with birds (we had breakfast while watching birds), showers are clean and the water pressure was good. Ann would walk an extra mile to accommodate us, she would prepare nutritious breakfasts but her hospitality goes far beyond what is usually expected from a Guesthouse landlady. She was our guide, doctor and cook, she took over the role of Auntie by looking after us. We couldn’t be happier with our stay. Such warm and welcoming places are a rarity nowadays, as the majority of B&Bs have lost their genuine and welcoming spirit and become very commercial. We would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a traditional English Guesthouse (dying breed).

This B&B is wonderful, and if the accommodation doesn't have all of the frills (shared bathroom, but basin in room, continental breakfast served in room rather than a full English), the welcome offered by Ann more than makes up ! Yes, she puts herself out for you, and really wants you to have a great stay. I chose it because I was arriving late on the train, and it's close to the station, but also because it's really close to town. I had a room at the rear with a lovely bed. The room was spotless. Ideal if you're travelling by train.
