Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had the fab time at this hotel. Had a room with a big bath that was big enough for two. The room was really lovely and not business-y like at all. Was really happy with my stay here. Also ate in the restaurant for dinner rand the food was not standard pub food and was outstanding. Lovely breakfast too. Great for a night away with my partner and really recommend.

We were visiting family & they booked the White Hart for Sunday Lunch. OMG what a Sunday Lunch! The Roast Beef Dinner was amazing. The atmosphere & service were 1st class. It's a shame we don't live close by to allow us to visit more often. We would HIGHLY recommend the White Hart.

We spent a week at the White Hart Hotel owned by Tom & James Bainbridge. As should be expected, a 17th-century coaching inn has all the charm and character of a period property. So it is not modern, but it is fully functional and beautiful. All the staff were excellent, welcoming, attentive and genuine. It's great to speak with staff who are passionate about their work. From making cocktails to the fantastic food in the restaurant, the housekeeping was perfect, which made our stay a pleasure. The location is perfect for a small quiet break as Welwyn is a walk or bus ride to Welwyn Garden City, or Welwyn itself has plenty of shops, bakeries, cafes, pubs and walks for a few days.

We stayed in February and also booked to dine. We had a really warm welcome and the restaurant is definitely worth a visit. There's a good choice of main meals and an excellent range of drinks. Breakfast was spot-on too, we're certainly planning to return

The service in the restaurant was phenomenal, could adapt the menu to gluten free no alcohol and no traces of meat! The food was freshly cooked and delicious. It was little cold so wear a jumper but it is a really cold day today.

We booked this hotel in advance as we were heading to a family party not far there. Before arrival we were called by staff and informed of issues with our room. At first we were obviously disappointed but agreed to come to to the hotel regardless to discuss the issues as other family members were staying there anyway. From start to finish all the staff were kind and friendly and the concerns were quickly sorted we checked into our room and got on with our day. The room had a real charming character to it and we had a good nights rest. Breakfast was presented well and again staff very friendly with their service, they really knew how to make us feel welcome. Would come again!!!!

16 of us enjoyed a delicious 3 course lunch in the private function room yesterday. It was the perfect room for a noisy family group ranging in age from 16 to 82 to celebrate mums 80th. Tasty food and good service from the team at the White Hart. Lovely to be able to move around the room to chat to each other and the large screen in room allowed us to show a rolling reel of family photos. A really great day.

I’d booked a room with a four poster bed and ended up in a room at the bottom of the car park that whilst was adequate it wasn’t the cleanest room.. the cobwebs in the beams and the desultory dead spider hanging down the wall confirmed this.. the bathroom was in dire need of refurbishment with the most awful attempt of a shower hanging pitifully above the shower.. it looked like the National smokers convention had been held outside my room as the ashtray was overflowing with fag ends.. the most annoying thing of which I’m not sure who to apportion blame was being woke up at 5.00am both mornings by what appeared to be the UK annual convention of industrial lorries with reversing beepers taking place outside.. the racket was unbearable! Not sure if this is a regular thing but if it is .. avoid the car park rooms! Breakfast was adequate and the young lad that worked there was very helpful and friendly I don’t know what ‘Boutique’ is supposed to mean .. it’s a ridiculous phrase, unnecessary and pointless, but White Hart doesn’t resemble any boutique I’ve visited (if I’ve visited any) Ok as a stopover
