My partner and I camped here for one night over the weekend and were really impressed by how clean the kitchen, toilet and shower facilities were. The showers were not only clean but hot. We had a lovely big area to ourselves in the campsite, and enjoyed walking around the adjoining park and along the Hutt River walk. A very...

Arrived here in torrential downpour and lots of standing water including a flooded tent site, fortunately we were in cabins both of which were adequately supplied with all necessary equipment All had good sleep in comfortable beds

We were going to stay in a tent here, but the weather wasn't so good, so we opted for a self contained cabin unit. You do have to supply your own towels and sheets, unless you want to pay extra, The unit was fine, basic and comfortable. ours was in a group of three units Unfortunately there is no sound...

At the north end of Upper Hutt the camp is well placed for day trips. We had an unpowered site which was itself pleasant but sits near some large overhead power line towers. The shared kitchen and bathroom/ toilet facilities were actually very good and were modern and clean. The kitchen had a microwave, some good sized hot plate cook...

Place where you go and you know you don't really feel home there. Had a standard cabin there and I do not really understand that concept from those Kiwi Holiday Parks not offering duvets. When I rent a room I order it because I want to sleep there. Renting a room and having to pay extra for basic things like...

We booked in over labour weekend with the two Grandsons, found it an ideal place to base ourselves as we wanted to take the kids to H2O extreme which I recommend for anyone with children. And to the opening night of the stock cars. The camp itselve is set in a hollow so you have to be careful what site...

After reading reviews I was worried... Husband had already booked. But our cabin was fine. Jug supplied and QUIET heater. ( kudos for that!). The bathroom a long walk away ... Not one I'd like to do in middle of night. Showers low pressure but no time limit so that's okay. Basic kitchen. We spent day time in the city...

Bad experience, the camp site is badly maintained, no toilet paper in the toilets in the morning, no paper towels, dirty towels in the kitchen, no gas in the BBQ. Very dangerous playground for kids (trampoline without fence, swing has rusty nails coming out it). The worst campsite we stayed in NZ and expensive too.

We stayed in some kind of eco-cabin. I don't know what the eco-stood for. Perhaps economy of fittings. The sheets were extra so this pushed the already expensive (for this type of accommodation) price up even further. It would have been better to pay a few dollars more for a motel. The proprietor was friendly but didn't provide a tv...

Pros: Nice quite setting ,clean and tidy Cons: Beds sheets are extra,I paid $15 for a set which was a discount price at $105 / night for a tourist flat you would expect bed sheets to be included. I paid $120 total Mattresses need replaced, they are old Is expensive compared to other similar accommodation I,ve stayed at.

“Rooms are all the same location wise, if multiple adults probably best to stay in the group of 3 cabins as they are across from the communal kitchen/TV room and Laundry room as there is only one bathroom and no separate toilet.”

“Remember to bring all your own bedding and towels. The 8 Eco Cabin units are in an L Shape, with the toilets/shower rooms in the middle, next to a communal kitchen room. Everything nice and clean. Verandah in front of the units would keep you dry in wet weather for a night time dash to the loo (max distance only 4 units)”
  • Eco Cabins - with unfortunate power pylon
  • The office building and grounds - take kids to the awesome playground at the park next door inst
  • One of the Eco Cabin units. Very basic but clean.
