Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Immaculate. The site owners have thought of everything to ensure this caravan site is worth 5 stars. Lots of lovely touches. The other caravaners were really friendly and there is a real community feel. Get a lakeside pitch if you can, but book early, lots of people return regularly.

We had a lovely first visit at Langdale Lakes. Prior to booking I called to ask a few questions about the site and area. John was very helpful and gave his time and provided some useful information. The site is set well back from the main road and has well kept grounds with a security barrier. We were greeted by John on arrival and given two laminated sheets of information about the site and fishing. There is an information hut with lots of local information and most importantly for us – bus timetables!! We had a lakeside pitch which was great which had electric and our own water tap. If you wanted to fish in another area/other lake it was £5 a day. My husband enjoyed his fishing – he caught lots of Perch and a big carp. The lakes are lovely to have a walk around and watch the fish sunbathing! There are lots of seats around the lakes and woodland for you to relax and enjoy the scenery. There are 2 shower suites that consist of toilet, wash hand basin and shower. There is also a separate WC. There is a train line at the back of the site but that didn’t bother us. The ice cream van came around on Sunday evening which was a nice surprise and treat! On Wednesday evenings, the Queens Cod Wagon deliveries fish and chips to the site. You are meant to order ahead of their visit, which we didn’t, but they still served us with a nice portion of fish and chips. There are two buses that go past the site entrance – No. 56 an hourly service to Horncastle and Skegness in one direction and Lincoln in the other. The No. 50 bus goes to Louth or Lincoln – that runs every two hours. We bought a Stagecoach bus pass for £28 for the week (plus £1 for the actual card which you can re-use when we revisit the site!). Most return trips seemed to cost £7.80 so we made good use of the bus pass even though we used it for 4 days. Lincoln was a lovely place to explore. Had a tasty lunch at Rising Cafe in a converted church. Louth is a nice market town to have a wonder around. We also liked Horncastle for its antique and knic knack shops. Whilst we were in the area we also ventured further afield on the bus to Skegness. Its an 1.5 hour ride but it was nice to see the Lincolnshire countryside from the top deck. Skegness itself was pleasant – lovely long sandy beach. All in all, we had a lovely holiday. Thank you Jacqui & John.

If it is a peaceful, relaxing break with fishing you are looking for, this is the place to be. The plots are spacious and the setting is idyllic. Fishing is great, with very well tended pegs. In fact, the whole site is extremely well kept. The showers and pot wash facilities are immaculately clean. There is a kitchen with a microwave, washer, dryer and sink. The owners are friendly and welcoming on arrival and always have the time of day for you. We will definitely be bavk, it is a big thumbs up for us! Thank you

Have stayed in the b & b twice and also on the touring pitches twice. The service from Pete and Carol is impeccable as are the facilities both in the house and outside in the caravan area. The showers and toilets for the caravans are far better than many of the hotels we’ve stayed in recently. My only complaint, if it is one, is that I could smell the gorgeous breakfast that Carol was cooking for the b & b which meant I had to go and get some eggs and bacon from the shop to satisfy my hunger in the caravan.

Carol and Pete were perfect hosts. They welcomed us to their beautiful, comfortable home in fabulous surroundings. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We were given a delicious breakfast which set us up for the day. Managed a walk around one of the lakes which was so peaceful. We will be back...we need to walk around the other lake😀. Thanks Carol and Pete.
