Stayed for one night with dinner. Excellent all round. Very clean and quite new throughout (refurbished after a serious fire) but also cosy and relaxed, including a log fire which was very welcome on a very cold day after Christmas. Good welcome, attentive service and a comfortable room at a very reasonable price. Large car park. Very good cooking for...

The setting and service are five star. Great attention paid to comfort by very charming hosts but the dinner was rather disappointing. Starters:fine. Mains: the roast was too undercooked for our elderly teeth and taste. I think we just did not strike lucky.

Spent a great weekend at The Abbot's Elm at end of November, catching up with family. Saturday dinner was excellent - between us we had mains of fish pie, pigs cheeks and steak followed by chocolate mousse, sticky toffee pudding , crumble and panacotta. Sunday lunch was perfect - from the hake curry to the beef cheeks, gammon, and roast...

We were visiting Cambridge to meet our son who'd flown in from Stockholm for a business weekend. We needed somewhere near enough to Ely and Cambridge, and happened across The Abbot's Elm on Sawdays website. Really taken with the Abbot's Elm website, and loved the look of the menu. Phoned to see if a room was available at only a...

Pathetically my parents felt unable to drive from Northumberland to Kent without an overnight stop and so chose Abbot's Elm due to its closeness to the A1. Personally I just sleep from the moment I get in the car until the moment the boot comes up hours later and then its 'Where's the walk?' Walking from this pub was easy...

From the minute we arrived on the Saturday late afternoon we were made to feel very welcome including our bearded collie dog! Provided with a complementary bottle of fizzy water and shown to our lovely ensuite bedroom with super king size bed, walkin cupboard and clean and inviting bathroom with a gorgeous marble floor that Rosie, our dog, loved sleeping...

Five of us ate here last night for my Mothers birthday. We all have very different tastes. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food, the ambience and the wonderful service. Nothing was too much trouble even though the staff were very busy as both the restaurant and bar were full. No where matches the Abbot's Elm. We are never disappointed. Excellent.
