Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is second time over the last couple of months I have chosen to stay here where Debbie has been a major help in sorting out check-in issue caused by my company's booking system. Friendly, helpful, efficient and professional service received both times - thanks to her and Charley, so much. Previously, I've used Skipton TL as my preferred place to stay due to its location and available free parking. OK, room facilities are comfortable, though basic, but that's TL; meets my needs. Ultimately, the staff make a hotel and based on my experience it should be 5*. Ta

Great location, close enough to the town and with easy access to the Dales. The staff were friendly and helpful, helping with both online access and booking a taxi for me. The room was basic but had everything required. Water was wonderfully hot.

Very nice place - staff ultra friendly - I bumped into Mel the cleaner in the corridor - she politely showed me to my room and let me in - She told me if I hand any issues regarding cleaning to seek her out and she’d get it put right. As expected the room was immaculately clean however I got to say it’s maybe due for a bit of a freshen up (paint / carpets etc) I enjoyed a night out in Skipton with friends and slept like a dream - I bumped into -Mel on my way to check out she was pleased to hear I thought the cleanliness was impeccable - top marks to the cleaning team..

An impromptu visit, but well worth it. We are never disappointed when we stay here and is our go to place to lay our heads when visiting the Dales. Staff are brilliant and so welcoming. Rooms clean and you have all you need for your stay be it one,two or more nights.

Seriously it’s like sleeping in the open air directly on a motorway , it is really that noisy, absolutely terrible . Room ok but very dated would benefit from a total revamp with windows that actually cut down on the unbelievably high noise pollution in the room from passing traffic. Worse nights sleep I have ever encountered in a hotel. Price cheap & Cheerful but in no way does it recompense for the dreadful sleep experience due to poor quality windows. Updating the windows to lower the traffic noise in the rooms would be the least they could do to improve the stay for guests , this would help immensely in having a reasonable sleep at this hotel. Would I stop here again? Only under the guarantee that the windows had been up graded to modern quality sound reduction windows. To say this Hotel is on the door stop to Skipton , Travel Lodge really needs to re evaluate the situation & spend the money on a Total upgrade of the rooms & specifically concentrating on sound proofing & windows. The present situation with allowing this noise pollution to freely enter the rooms through bad quality windows is extremely short sighted view for a Hotel business. Absolutely the worst sleep experience I have ever had . I can add no more.

This travelodge may be a little dated but it’s perfectly suitable for a one or two night stop over. Clean and tidy. A short 20 minute walk into the town centre, a Greggs and Burger King next door. The bed was very comfortable and staff were welcoming and helpful. There was a young man cleaning who held the doors open for us, offered to help with our bags and gave us directions to the town centre. 100% would come back :)

To start, I'd like to state: The noise from outside might be a big factor in deciding whether to stay here or not. The hotel is right next to a busy road and you can hear that very well. For us, we slept through it without a hitch, but this might not be the best choice for those who sleep light or struggle to sleep with significant sound present. Other than that, all positives and one advisory note... Good customer service: we were greeted by pleasant staff upon entering and exiting the hotel. Rooms are tidy and the facilities work well (as you'd expect from any Travelodge). The rooms and hotel are definitely from an older time, as the doors require a key to open rather than a digital pass/key card. I have included a picture of our door for reference. This was not a problem for us, however, it might cause some paranoia in others because the door is not lockable from the inside (as one cannot enter to begin with, without a key). So, you are completely safe, but understandably, this might still stir anxiety in people.

We stayed for three nights - the rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. Its quite close to two main roads but we found it to be quiet enough and there's a Greggs and a Burger King directly outside. You can walk into Skipton through the park and along the canal which is a really nice walk - about 20-25 minutes strolling but you probably wouldn't want to walk back particularly if you've has a meal and drink but there's a very well used taxi rank in the town. We will definitely stay again as the walking distance location to Skipton in great without so you don't have to tackle the tourist traffic. A brilliant stay!
