We are located in the wonderful, rural Carmarthenshire countryside just 10 minutes scenic drive from the historic market town of Carmarthen, the oldest town in Wales. We are centrally situated to access the many beautiful beaches of Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion, and all major tourist attractions in the area.

Well what can I say, on driving up the country lanes we began to think oh dear what have we done, but on seeing Cilwen country house we soon realised we have done the right thing. We’re were greeted by Adrian who was so friendly, he showed us to our room, the blue room that over looked the garden, it was so warm and cosy, everything we needed was in the room and it was spotlessly clean, with a great electric shower. The menu for breakfast was delicious everything you needed to start the day, We booked a dinner for our first night and it was so delicious that we ate dinner there every night for the the whole week, Jeff was a fabulous cook and nothing was too much trouble for him, he even cooked us a special meal on our anniversary. The gardens and the view was absolutely stunning, we really couldn’t fault this accommodation at all, it was a real gem and we would definitely book to go back there. We travelled everyday to somewhere different and visited a lot of places on the Pembrokeshire coast, it is an ideal location for touring South Wales, and returning back to a wholesome cooked meal. We booked this not knowing the area and at last minute during Covid-19 and Adrian & Jeff was exceptional spot on with cleaning and sanitising everything, we felt completely safe and very happy. Well done guys on making us feel safe and helping us to enjoy our staycation.

We stayed in the self contained cottage for a wonderful week. Chickens greet you each morning to say hello and partial to a few bits of bread ! Cows in field just a metre from kitchen window and often a sheep or two in the garden. The B&B was next door if you need anything but also felt very alone which is just what we needed for good break. No Wi-Fi in cottage but can use the main house if needed but we enjoyed a Wi-Fi free week. Really hope to return very soon. Some lovely beach walks and the Elan Valley a good drive away but a beautiful route and well worth the effort. Carmarthen itself is limited but surrounded by lovely places and we found the Warren restaurant which had great veggie options which seemed a rarity on whole in Wales

A very beautiful house in a very rural location. Our room was large and lovely, the hosts attentive and friendly. Breakfast, as noted by other reviewers, as good as it gets. A wonderful place to stay. I guess the only downside is that it is very remote so most people would need to drive into Carmarthen for dinner. We were cycling the NCN 47 and the guys very kindly allowed us to microwave some curries we bought from Tesco. Good on them 👍

We were feeling fed up having a holiday cancelled at the last minute so decided to have a few days away and came across this B&B just by chance on the internet. We had a wonderful 4 night stay and everything was absolutely top notch. Room was warm, comfortable , excellent facilities ,lovely bathroom and shower ,would loved to have tried the beautiful deep free standing bath but being rather mature was worried I might not be able to get out so I decided to stick with the power shower. Lovely and peaceful surroundings ,you do need a car though it's quite remote but that's what we wanted and only a short drive into Carmarthen where there are plenty of places to eat. Breakfast was amazing so much choice I didn't bother with the full English, pancakes with apples, yoghurt and maple syrup were my favourite and I succumbed to those twice, the cilwen crumble another favourite with granola, seasonal fruits yoghurt and oats ,omelettes yes I tried them all absolutely delicious followed by homemade toasted bread and homemade jams. Adrian and Jeff were so nice and friendly nothing was too much trouble for them .loved the chickens and guinea fowl that serenaded us while we are our breakfast. We will definitely come back had a lovely few days and there was absolutely nothing not to like .

We were in the Carmarthen area for a Wedding and Stayed for two nights. Adrian the host was so welcoming and so hospitable-nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was amazing-everything locally sourced. Homemade bread and jams. The rooms were very comfortable and stylish. Lovely shower. We were a party of 6 and as we were late arriving on the Friday night we were allowed to bring our own buffet food and the table was already set for us!! Highly recommended and if in the area will definitely stay again. Gem of find

The B&B is very isolated but so quiet and relaxing. Excellent food - Jeff, the cook, comes over to discuss your choices. They use lots of local produce, especially their own eggs - hens and guinea fowl let loose during breakfast.

Staying at Cilwen House was quite the treat! From the spacious and comfortable bedroom with the big bathtub, the beautiful garden, the stone walled breakfast room to the incredible meals, we will be reminiscing about going back for a relaxing stay again. We honestly cannot say enough good things about the proprietors who hosted us as if we were old friends. I’ll be dreaming about their homemade bread, raspberry lemon jam, apple pancakes, sticky toffee pudding and chicken supreme!!!

A lovely quiet country house - remote but only 15min drive to nearby Carmarthen and a little further afield to some stunning beaches. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. Everything was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious - all home made, home grown or bought locally. I thought this was great value too and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Lovely large room and bathroom, fantastic breakfast with immense choice of menu, most attentive hosts, very quiet location. Everything was of high quality with nothing too much trouble for Adrian and Geoff. This is definitely the best B&B we've ever stayed in!

Accommodation, food and comfort all excellent, thanks to the attention to detail paid by Adrian and Jeff, all of which made our four night stay unforgettable. Quiet garden to sit with a glass of wine before dusk listening to the birdsong, and friendly hens which provided superb eggs for breakfast. Never had a better breakfast to start our day exploring west Wales.
