We booked this last minute as most of the places in Carmarthen were full. It was reasonably priced as we didn't want anything expensive.
We were greeted by a nice lady behind the bar who explained where our room was. The room was a bit old fashioned but it was clean and that's all we wanted.
We only stopped here for 1 drink in the evening before going out as there was a group of younger people shouting and swearing so we couldn't even hear ourselves speak.
We had a cooked breakfast the next morning which was lovely. Choice of cereals, juices, tea, coffee etc.
For what we paid it was good and I would probably stay again if we returned to Carmarthen.

My ancestors came from Carmarthen, Wales. I wanted to see what it looked like. It's a small town but not a "tiny" town.

We walked to the hotel from the train. It wasn't very far - about 5 blocks. When we came in the hotel, I thought that place wasn't right because it was a pub room. I said to a person, "This is a hotel?" one woman said "Yes, This it is."
When we got in the room, the bed looks nice but they did not clean all the dust - on the desk or window seat or bed stand. In the bathroom, They did a switch light. It was a thin rope.... so FILTHY!!! They did not replace the rope. So, I did clean all of them. We didn't move anywhere else. Because it was cheap. You probably won't want to there. I guess they probably can't afford to pay for some new things.
By the way, They didn't supply the shampoo or even the lotion.

Positive- car prk at rear, Town centre allocation, hot water.
Negatives- terrible place. you pay for what you get. Very budget, sticky carpets and urgently need updating furniture in rooms. Radiator stuck on all night, very hot even with window open. Dirty and mould in shower. Very noisey from room next door and constant noise, banging of doors from 1am onwards. In and out of female visitors!! Unable to sleep all night because of this. Definate not stay there again or recommend.

Met with a very warm welcome at reception. Bedroom clean, tidy and comfortable. Breakfast cooked fresh to order. Cereal also available. Only negative was coffee is instant only some fresh would have made it perfect. Breakfast served 7-9 Monday to Friday and 8-10 weekends and bank holidays. Car parking limited but we managed to work around it fine. All in all would highly recommend at a good price.

Fantastic welcome from the owner and all the staff who were ever so friendly and helpful. The room was clean, very comfortable and a great nights sleep. Next day the breakfast was freshly home cooked and delicious. Overall a great overnight stay with standout friendliness from all the staff and very comfortable bed. Brilliant and thank you. I hope to stay again soon.

Having thought we had booked bed and breakfast we were surprised to be asked for a further £15 and full payment for the room on arrival. We agreed. The next morning on getting up for breakfast we were told the chef had not turned up so there was no breakfast. We were escorted across the road to a transport café and bought a cheap £3 breakfast. Not what had been promised on their advert.

Room Tip: Not room 17 - it looks out at a brick wall, the radiator does not turn off so it is boiling

Stayed at the Drovers for one night on business. Second time I've stayed here and will return again.
The Drovers is what it is, a pub with rooms
The rooms are fine, very clean, good bathroom, coffee, good storage and comfortable bed. What more do yoi need?
Breakfast plentiful if you want a good selection of cereal, juice, full breakfast and toast. Good honest food. Again, not pretending to be something it isn't.
The people that work there that I met were absolutely first class. Very friendly and helpful, each and every one of them. They enhance your stay with their friendliness and help. The beer isn't half bad either!
Will I return? Most definitely if in the area. Thanks people at The Drovers.

Approaching the Drovers, though could be put off at having to walk into a very basic bar area to check in. A little intimadating if on your own.
Room was basic but clean and comfortable with tea & coffee facilities and ensuite.
Breakfast served from 7-9am.
Small hotel car park at the back. Otherwise public car park free after six until eight am.
You get what you pay for, I wouldn't stay again but it may suit what you're looking for!
