Booked a night here and was looking forward to using the relaxation burrow. Unfortunately there were building delays so it wasn't open but the hotel did reduce our price to reflect that. Made very welcome by the receptionist. Room was retro and quirky but very spacious and comfortable, however the bed was very high so not suitable for short people or anyone with mobility issues. Also the green light in the ceiling stays on all night so not complete darkness. Food in restaurant was nice but wouldn't say amazing. Drinks are extremely overpriced especially the cocktails but I do admit they were delicious. A bit slow with service inside but it was quite busy. The outside drinks area could do with being a bit larger and close to the road so you hear traffic. Building work continued on the Sunday morning and was close to our room so very noisy. It does look like it will be amazing when complete.Gorgeous breakfast the next morning and again staff were very attentive. Covid regulations all seemed to be met but can't understand why you need to go through the spray to get into the outside bar when you can walk straight into reception. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and as they have only been open a few months they are probably still adjusting.

From the second we arrived we were welcomed by friendly and accommodating staff. The spa was lovely, small (but not too small) and intimate with a quirky decor and chilled out vibe with music to match. The Roman Bath style heated pool was stunning and made all the harder to leave with the various alcoves and seating arrangements. The sauna, steam room and cabanas were also lovely. The whole thing felt very exclusive because the spa wasn’t overly crowded the way other spas sometimes are. The cocktails at the bar were £11.50 each and well worth the money considering you could drink them in the pool and they had a mix of traditional cocktails like a daiquiri or signature cocktails like The Jessica Rabbit.

We had booked the food package so got a 3 course meal in the restaurant later that evening for a very reasonable £70 for two. None of the courses disappointed and the menu was very diverse. Staff were constantly checking in to see if we were enjoying our stay and if the food was okay. Whilst I am not vegan or coeliac myself, it was hard not to notice that they had separate gluten free and vegan menus with a wide range of items on offer too.

After dinner we stayed on in the bar for a bit and the live entertainment there was phenomenal.

We stayed in the Comfy XL rooms with the outdoor bathtub and the room was quirky yet comfortable.

Overall our stay was great and we couldn’t help but notice all the little things that the hotel had thought of that just showed their commitment to going above and beyond. Furthermore, all of the staff were so pleasant and committed to making sure guests were happy.

Will definitely be booking again.

I spent a night as a treat for my wife and I can say my stay was delightful. Word of caution is not to compare The Rabbit to Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort who own it. This is no reflection on the professional staff and the level of service it is very credible and can be applauded. Larsen, a gentleman and exceeds professionalism. There's also a young Darragh who demonstrated exceptional serving standards at dinner. A project that is obvious upon visit and will most likely deliver a limited Spa facility to compliment the package is most welcome. Price wise in comparison to other 3* hotels in the area it overall provides an attractive price point. Parking is free on site and the bed & breakfast package is impressive, it compares to the Companies parent company and was well presented and delivered. On day of our arrival the evening meal was presented without fuss and tasted amazing. As a by note I requested an off menu breakfast meal that was made available without question. Serious advice is to read the amentities available on site, wife realises that there is no a/c in rooms! In a heat wave this could have been catastrophicbut she arranged two fans in advance, yes two and they saved the day and we had a comfortable nights sleep. Its not a free or cheap minibar but it was there. One thing we did notice was there was no direct telephone communication with reception! What's going on there? We considered room service for breakfast and had no way of ordering it. Overall I can not knock the Rabbit. Family oriented, comfortable, quirky in a way, a cute venue for an intimate family wedding or other event. With good communication you should be able to get good memories.

I booked stay on the 11th July (Sunday), as the 12th is a Bank Holiday in Northern Ireland so my partner and I could enjoy a nice breakfast on Monday morning. I was informed that the SPA area won’t be opened during our stay as planned.

We could stay in the hotel with £50 discount or rebook for September when the groundwork will be finished. But who would enjoy a hotel stay with noises from groundwork going on?

This was a birthday present, so I had to apologise my partner and agree on another day. When I called the hotel and requested change for Saturday stay, I was told that the hotel has different rates on Saturday, and I will have to pay extra.

I expressed disappointment and hope that the hotel will be more accommodating, as it was them who overpromised us SPA, to which we both looked forward most. I wasn’t keen on staying on Sunday anymore, as we both work Mon-Fri.

After a person who picked up the phone chatted with a manager, the rate for the same room was lowered for us, but still didn’t match the one that I paid. I had to cancel my booking.

I really expected more from the place like this, when you make a promise, you can’t fulfil and mess up people's holiday plans. Apparently securing your Saturday income is more important than the customer satisfaction and 2 customers lost. There are other hotels out there that will welcome us with open hands!

Dear KBK333, thank you for taking the time to pass along your feedback. We are so disappointed that our spa wont be opening for the planned date in June and I apologise for the disruption this made to your plans to stay in July. We want to ensure that our guests have a wonderful time at the hotel and offered everyone a number of alternative options to recreate the stay that they had booked. I'm sorry that you feel that these options were not suitable for you. I know that this has been a disappointment for you and I hope that we will have an opportunity to rectify this and demonstrate you a wonderful Rabbit experience in the future. Lovely place to stay but expensive for what you get. Food and staff very friendly. Our room was small but at over £300 a night for bed breakfast & evening meal won't be doing this very often. Found hair clasp in room at side of bed makes you wander how much the rooms are cleaned before you take them over

My friend and I booked the sunset spa experience as a pre-wedding treat. First of all, it wasn't clear where we should go to check in. We then waited for our therapists. We overheard two of the therapists complaining they were tired and wanted to go home.
My therapist Cathryn was absolutely amazing and I had a great massage. Unfortunately my friend (the bride to be) had a less amazing experience as the room was freezing and doors kept banging, making it impossible for her to relax.
We then ordered some cocktails, which we noticed were priced more expensively in the spa than in the restaurant.
We went to use the sauna, which wasn't very warm, had an awful smell and we then noticed the ceiling was dripping and the wooden beams were warped (the hot tub was directly above the sauna), so we left promptly.
If you like privacy in the shower, the changing rooms are not for you! The doors are glass and you can see the person inside the shower.
We then went for dinner and were provided with the wrong menu for our package. When we received the correct menu, we were really disappointed as the food choices were minimal and more snacky. The hotel had moved our dinner reservation to 8pm so we were starving by this time. The maitre d' kindly allowed us to choose from the main menu and deduct the price of the sunset menu. I do think the food was very overpriced for the portion sizes. My friends meal arrived and it was quite dry so we asked for more sauce which took about 5 minutes to arrive. She then noticed a hair in her food. The waitress offered to return to the kitchen and have a new meal prepared. By the time this arrived, I had already finished my meal.
What was supposed to be an enjoyable and relaxing treat for the bride to be ended up being quite the opposite. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend the Rabbit to any of my friends.

My mother and I visited your restaurant yesterday for lunch and I am pleased to report that we had a very enjoyable experience. What made it all the more pleasant was the fact that you are dog friendly - albeit we had to sit outside but it was a beautiful day so were happy to do so. I am not sure of the policy indoors and would hope that dogs are invited there also. (There are matters far worse than dog ownership to contend with in this country). I digress. Meal was amazing and you have to try the brisket burger! Our server Orla (I think) was charming and certainly added to the occasion. Thank you for making our stay so welcoming Orla. Price of food was high but comparative to other restaurants and after the refurbishment of the old Templeton, I think this is probably now one of the best in the area. So, a glowing report for you Rabbit Hotel but a word of warning - when price of product is comparative to your competition, quality and service become key differentiators. Keep on top of these two factors and we and many others will continue to come back. Sadly your sister site at Gillies, Galgorm has lost it's sparkle in this respect.
Read your reviews and importantly act upon them - there appears to be a few disgruntled customers out there.

To start I want to emphasise the fact that I have never felt the need to leave a bad review of anywhere I have stayed before… until now.

My partner and I get a child free night away once a year so we thought that coming here would be a real treat.

Before we arrived we were emailed spa times. These times changed twice with no consultation with ourselves to see if these times even suited.

When we arrived we were also informed that our dinner time had been pushed back also. When we explained to receptionist that the time was too late she came across rude, cold and frankly quite dismissive and actually tried to blame us more or less saying that’s all that’s free either you take it or you don’t eat basically. She made out that it was our fault booking two days before being the issue. Surely if the dinner slot wasn’t free it wouldn’t have been available to choose.

So we didn’t get off to the best start but we were determine not to let one person ruin our trip.

When we arrived down to the spa I had brought a bag with me. I wasn’t offered a locker I didn’t know they existed until another guest informed me so I went and asked and was given a key to a locker. I opened the locker put my bag in and took out two soaking wet towels that were meant to be for us. I showed this to the spa receptionist and to be fair she was mortified that we had been given wet towels. She couldn’t believe it when she felt them. She quickly got us two clean towels.

When we arrived for our dinner we were informed the menu was online which was fine. My partner ordered the Sea-bass to be told sorry don’t have any. I ordered the fillet steak to be told sorry don’t have any left. We then asked for a jug of water. We were given a glass each because they didn’t have any water jugs left either. Eventually a kind couple next to us were leaving so they gave us their jug which was never filled during our meal. The food we did receive though was absolutely beautiful and could not be faulted.

As we were late finishing dinner there wasn’t much seating left at the bar so we were near the door which was fine. Just kept my coat on but when I went to the ladies there wasn’t even a hook behind the door for my coat so I had to put it on a filthy toilet floor which wasn’t ideal. I had to try about three cubicles before I could find one that was actually useable. They obviously hadn’t been cleaned in a while.

I really have never left a bad review in my life but I just felt the need to with this hotel because under the current climate for some people to pay nearly £450 for one night is a real treat so what we got definitely was not a treat at all.

Save yourself £450 and book somewhere else. Where the receptionist isn’t rude, where they adhere to pre booked slots, where they give you dry and clean towels in their spa, where they have the food that’s on their menu and have enough water jugs for each table so you can enjoy water with your meal and where have clean toilets with a space to hang up your belongings so they don’t have to be put on the floor.

We will not be back!

Very well decorated hotel, from the entrance to the restaurant and rooms, really loved the look of the place.

The food in the restaurant was beautiful, and service was very quick. Breakfast was equally as impressive.

The outdoor spa is fantastic, felt like I was on holiday in the Mediterranean, nice upbeat music and nice “beach” bar sold a good range of cocktails.

The room was very retro in design, and it really looked the part. We booked the room with the outdoor tub which was a nice feature, and plenty of room for 2 people. There was also a wood burning stove which really turned your own private courtyard into a sanctuary.

The only negative, and quite a big one was that after dinner we had to go back to our room because the bar was full, and no room for us to even sit down and enjoy the live music, we were told we could sit on a table in the restaurant for a drink but they would “need it back soon because it has been booked” . A residents only bar, or even a reserved area for residents would make all the difference as the bar was full of non-residents.

Overall though, a very pleasant stay.

Popped in for a late lunch during the week before the hotel closed. We were welcomed by a very friendly tall gentleman at the entrance who explained how the temperature check machine operated. The Bar and Restaurant was a complete transformation from the old Templeton, very modern and trendy. Our waitress was extremely efficient and had time for a friendly chat. The food was delicious and was very relaxing just being able to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. We got a great seat overlooking the open plan kitchen. I was just gutted I was driving as was envious of a few other 'ladies who lunch' doing just that! Definitely be returning minus the car next time!

Anyone know if they have twin rooms I want to book for July but can't see a twin room on the options?
Templepatrick, United Kingdom38 contributions2 helpful votes
Hello Beverly, Thanks for getting in touch. All our rooms accommodate a minimum of 2 guests, however if you specifically would like separate beds then I would recommend booking a Comfy Room – these can all be made as twin beds. Just make a note in the comment section of your booking to arrange the Twin setup. We look forward to welcoming you to The Rabbit!
