Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very kind, easy going host, breakfast was so filling I did not need lunch, bed was nice and comfy, I slept like a dream. Shower was good and hot. Kitchen was available for use in our unit (outback) and the location is convenient for enjoying Cushendall and catching a bud onward. Great stuff!

Our host Alex is very kind and attentive. We are on a walking holiday and he was kind enough to transport us to several walking start points. He even put our wet hiking boots in the warm boiler room to dry them out. Breakfast was delicious each morning!

Alex is lovely and accommodating, the location is excellent (being in the centre of the village), and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The double bed is the only reason this review isn’t a 5 star - my husband is a bed hog 😉

There are hotels. There are guest houses. And there are guest houses that are more like hotels. That's not a criticism - it's a compliment. The Village B & B in the lovely village of Cushendall comes into that last category. It has all the facilities you could want in a hotel but with the warmth and friendliness of the best guest houses. My wife and I and two friends spent five nights in the first week of September at the guest house and enjoyed the experience immensely. The manager (owner?) Alex proved to be an excellent host, ready to chat with his guests and keen to make sure everyone was happy with the service. Our room was spacious and comfortable without being ostentatious. There was plenty of storage space and the en-suite, though small, was perfectly adequate. Most importantly the bed was extremely comfortable - perhaps too comfortable to want to get out of! Breakfast was very special. Almost anything imaginable seemed to be on the menu, from bacon to porridge and the quality was very high indeed. The staff were attentive and friendly and made sure everything was to our liking. In short, this was one of the best places we've stayed (and we've stayed in a lot of hotels both in the UK and abroad. If only all hotels (and guest houses) were like this!

The Village B&B ticked the basic essentials of a decent night’s rest. We got a good nights sleep, but the bed was a bit lumpy. The shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water, and the bathroom appeared clean, but the floor linoleum is buckling up, the paint is worn off the shelf, and there’s a bit of mold growing above the shower cubicle on the wall. Overall the room was quiet, especially with the wonderfully thick walls, but the road traffic right outside the window and the activity at the pub across the street had episodes of loudness. Breakfast was plentiful with decent quality ingredients and a lovely woman who assisted us with a cheerful can-do attitude, but the only vegan option (that I could tell) were the tomatoes, apples and bananas. We hardly saw the owner, Alex, just during breakfast time one morning. We never saw any staff at all in the evenings, and Alex left a signed note in the entry hallway for arriving guests to find their own rooms. The B&B was centrally located, right in the middle of town, which was nice.

Wanted to visit a local pub with some real atmosphere. This is the place to come to. The landlady is an awesome lass. The welcome you get is typical of Ireland, warm and friendly. The front bar is a really cosy snug room.

had a short stay here when i visited NI for the NW200 motorcycle road races. have stayed here before and thoroughly enjoyed it. this time was possibly better, there was a TV in the room this time. tea and coffee on the landing which works well, this is where you catch up with the other guests. as before, decor and facilities were excellent. staff aren't around much in the day, which again, for me is fine. nice village, plenty of good bars/pubs for a quick drink. the owner is friendly helpful chap, and the lady at breakfast time is lovely. great night's sleep, somewhere secure in the back yard to park the bike. cracking breakfast, sensible price - will go again, probably next year!

My companion and I spent 2 nights in Room #3 of The Village B and B. Host Alex was friendly and helpful. The room looked out onto the Main St. but we were not disturbed by traffic sounds. The room had a twin and a queen-size bed and was very clean. Both beds and pillows were comfortable. However, room lighting was insufficient (small lamp by queen, no lamp by twin and ceiling lamp weak). There were tea and coffee making facilities on a table in the hallway with a comfortable sofa nearby. Breakfast in the morning was cooked by wife Maggie, and included an excellent full Irish breakfast, and many other options. My companion, a vegetarian, asked for no meat and Maggie cooked her up a nice breakfast of eggs and pancakes. The dining room was attractive, had 5 tables, and a window looking out at the street.
