Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked a room for 2 at Glendale for a wedding. We were greeted pleasantly and shown to our room which was quite spacious but also very homely! Bathroom was fine and very clean along with the room. I am an Australian and I can't sleep without a fan so the lovely young female host (I forget her name) delivered a fan promptly from the attic. Breakfast in the morning was also amazing and made fresh by the staff upon request. The female host was very attentive to our needs and she was nothing short of amazing! Thank you for the lovely stay!!

We stayed for 1 night on a trip to see the Giants Causeway. Upon arrival we were met and shown our room and told all the information we needed including advice on where we could walk to eat that night. Room was very clean and comfortable, lovely tea tray with biscuits and great supply of milk. Bathroom and shower very clean and modern. Breakfast was great and very plentiful and served by a super friendly and lovely lady. Highly recomend staying here

We were in room 1 and woken at 1.30am by loud water running plumbing which sounded like someone had left a tap running in the next room, this went on for hours and there was a loud thumping noise like someone stomping around but could not nail down where it was coming from, this went on till approx 4.40 am when the water noise stopped.
Housekeeping needs looking at as my electric razor fell off the side table and when I pulled it out to retrieve found empty mint wrapping behind table. Worst nights sleep ever.

Response from Mary O'Neill, Owner at Glendale Bed & Breakfast

Good Evening, I am very disappointed to hear this review. We continually strive to provide a better service and we try to remedy any complaints people have. We appreciate your feedback as this helps us to improve the experience for the next guests. The noise may have come from the floor above you and no one stays on that floor anymore. We also got a new pressurised system installed and got rid of the pump so I hope that we don't have any of the above issues going forward. The lockdown gave us a chance to do some jobs that we have been meaning to do. All of our bathrooms are now new and we renovated the dining room and got most of the house painted so it is refreshed. I am very sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your experience with us, the issues have now been resolved so I hope this enables our future guests to have an enjoyable stay. Kindest Regards, Glendale B&B

We enjoyed the cooked to order breakfast and airy breakfast room. What we not enjoy or appreciate was being told upon arrival that cash payment was expected. No card reader. Accommodations were booked well in advance leaving management ample time to share this. Instead needed to pay exorbitant non-bank ATM fees to pull cash. Host informed me that she was doing a favor by letting us check in early (2 pm) and giving us ice. That didn’t quite answer my question about the cash requirement and no, I did not need to access the room immediately. The notebook in room noting policies clearly stated that Glendale accepts Visa and accommodates early check in if room is ready. Be consistent.

We stayed 1 night in this large modern house in a room that felt like a friends guest room and as such had a cosy ambience to it, albeit with very neutral colours. Good to find a walk-in shower at last and there was lots of tea, coffee & biscuits on offer. The friendly hostess showed us to our room though she was a little busy with a small child. Her parents (in-laws) were a lot of fun - very chatty and friendly. Breakfast hit the mark without being over the top. The place is set in what felt like a small executive estate of large new houses (especially the extensive outside security lighting) and as such is some way out (10 minute walk) from the centre of a village if you fancy an evening drink (take care to choose your pub!). Overall, a nice and comfortable place to stay.

Genuinely one of the nicest places I've ever stayed and a real bargain at £90 for family room.
It's the little touches that you don't get everywhere: local menus printed out and gathered in a folder, glasses for water instead of plastic cups, cookies with tea/coffee facilities, nice mini toiletries.
The cleanliness is second to none.
The owners of are absolutely lovely.
Excellent breakfast.
Can't fault it.

A comfortable 3 night stay with friendly hosts. Clean rooms with plenty of biscuits/coffee/tea/milk. Lovely breakfast and good info on area. Perfect for access to Glenariff Forest Park, beaches and cycling routes. Can walk into the village but need car to explore area - local bus services between villages. Good value for money. Hope to stay again!

The bed and breakfast is lovely and charming, with comfortable accommodations and an easy walk to town. The full Irish breakfast was delicious, and the local goats and cat were characters. But the real appeal of this place is the owners/family and their hospitality. They went out of their way to make our stay wonderful, even offering transportation. We loved chatting with them and hope to meet again some day.
