Detailed Reviews
To put it bluntly this the best B&B we have ever stayed in. Throughout our stay (four nights) everything was top notch. The rooms are immaculate yet homely, there is a wide range of breakfasts available and all are delicious and the hotel is based close to town (a short walk along the seafront) yet just far enough away from the centre to avoid the worst of the noise and traffic. Scott was always quick to help out and recommend local places to visit, including some hidden gems! Also important to note that all covid precautions were taken (sanitising stations, staggered breakfast times, etc.). I guarantee that if you stay at The Carrick you will not regret it.

We chose this because of location and the great reviews, and we weren’t disappointed.
Upon our arrival to this beautiful house we received a warm friendly welcome from our host Scott (Social distancing was observed and sanitiser ready available)
He took us to our room and offered us a complimentary welcome drink which was a lovely surprise
Our room was at the front of the house and was bright and spacious, with large sash windows, sofa and four poster bed. It was beautifully decorated extremely clean with lots of nice touches like a coffee machine and sweet treats cosy soft bath robes slippers and Netflix on the TV!
The bed had crisp white sheets and was really comfortable as were the fluffy pillows
Breakfast was amazing with a great choice, it was clear quality ingredients had been used and it was cooked fresh to order, the eggs in particular were so tasty.
We had use of the residents warm cosy snug which we used in the evenings ..soft lighting comfy chairs, small bar, and sky TV if you chose to.
The carrick was in walking distance from Pubs and restaurants
It has a sunny well maintained outside garden with seating
Scott is an exceptional host and a warm, kind friendly person
We will definitely return

A long-awaited return stay at The Carrick (due to Covid restrictions from England) which most definitely didn't disappoint.
Fabulous from start to finish, once again.
This time, we stayed with our 13 & 12 year old sons in The Dunluce suite; beautifully appointed room with views, high ceilings, super comfy bed and a convertible sofa for the boys (we actually had an extra night on our own when this sofa reverts back to a nice space to relax). My parents stayed in The Dunseverick room where we thoroughly enjoyed our stay last time and they were equally as impressed.
Scott welcomed us with a complimentary glass of wine, easy check-in and straightforward instructions for ordering breakfast/securing a suitable time to minimise contact with other guests (due to Covid).
We were able to walk along the West Strand into Portrush in the evening for dinner and back again. The boys were happy to have a number of channels to watch movies when we got back.
Breakfast was superb; cooked to order with fresh ingredients sourced locally and served in a room adorned with interesting, local artwork on the walls.
The B&B is impeccably clean throughout and having used the toiletries in the room, I have now discovered a beautiful, locally produced brand "Causeway Aromatics"; an order of which has since made its way back to England.
As my parents live not too far away, they are already planning a return trip soon; parking is available outside the B&B and Dhu Varren train stop is located right outside so easily accessible from Ballymena, Antrim and further afield.
We will most certainly be back. Thank you Scott.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights with our 4 year old and our 22 month old. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Scott . Our room was the ‘Dunluce Family Room’ and it was absolutely beautiful, so clean and a great size, the king size bed was extremely comfortable and the sea views are stunning. The Carrick is in prime location, the beach was literally a 2 minute walk away which was great for the kids and Tides restaurant is within a short walking distance too. The staff throughout our stay were exceptional and very pleasant. The breakfast was gorgeous and our children loved the pancakes, not quite sure if we can top them to be honest. Overall I cannot recommend The Carrick enough, we will definitely be back and looking forward to our next stay already.
Thanks Emma and Scott at ‘The Carrick’

We had an amazing stay in the Carrick. It’s situated in a great location within walking distance to the beach and the town of Portrush. Scott takes great pride in his business and made our stay extra special. He was in regular contact with us on the day of our arrival and let us check in early. Scott offered us a complimentary drink of choice on arrival which was a lovely touch. The boutique hotel is beautifully decorated with lots of traditional Edwardian features. The lounge has a lovely bar with an impressive selection of whiskeys where you can enjoy a quiet drink in the evening. There is lots to choose from on the breakfast menu which was delicious. Breakfast is accompanied with a great cup of Columbian roast coffee. Scott really went the extra mile to ensure we had a great stay including dropping us to dinner one evening. Scott had gone to every effort to make our stay safe and secure taking all appropriate precautions with coronavirus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Carrick to anyone planning a visit to Northern Ireland.
Portrush is a very trendy town with lots of amazing places to eat and drink. We particularly enjoyed the coastal walks, surfing at West Strand Beach and cycling in the surrounding country side. The causeway coast is a beautiful part of the world.

What a gem. I could never have imagined such a wonderful place in Portrush. Scott was so attentive and welcoming. Our room was luxurious. Dressing gowns and slippers in the wardrobe, tea and coffee facilities in the room, bottled water usb ports and so cosy and warm. Neither my mother nor myself have slept as well in a long time. Such comfy beds. The place was immaculate. Need to know how the shower doors were streak free!! Everything was top class. Opposite the railway stop. Close to the beach and the town. And the breakfast.....yummy😋. Would love to stay here again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Carrick on Saturday past and it was an amazing stay! Scott is a fab host - so attentive & welcoming. He greeted us with a drink on arrival and even gave us a lift into town that evening. The room itself was beautiful & the bath was a luxury! The small details in the room made the difference, like the dressing gowns, coffee machine and chocolate bars. Breakfast was also brilliant - we couldn't have asked for more. I'll definitely be back!

With a great location, coupled with amazing views, the Carrick enjoys an enviable position within Portrush.
After check in Scott and his team showed us round the accommodation, which was not only spotless but we all agreed the individually designed rooms were all stunning. Don’t think I’ve ever slept in a more comfortable bed in any hotel I’ve stayed in.
After a few refreshments in the Carrick bar/lounge area we all headed off to visit the sights recommended to us by Scott. Plenty of great restaurants and bars on our doorstep so great time had by all.
Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and nothing was too much trouble, one of the party even got his peppermint tea........I know.......enough said :-)
To sum up, if your planning on paying Portrush a visit and your lucky enough to be able to book a room, you cannot be disappointed. Highly recommend.

We stayed here on 16th of August and were totally smitten. This house is beautifully restored by the owners and was obviously a labour of love! Our room was full of character with soft fluffy towels, robes and slippers in the wardrobe and a very comfortable bed. Scott the host was extremely helpful and even gave a glass of wine on arrival, the breakfast was once again a classy affair, muesli yoghurt and strawberries, juice and a delicious fry made with quality produce. We would highly recommend a stay in "The Carrick" it is just a little bit more special than your usual B&B!! It's definitely 5⭐

Stayed in the lissanour suite for 3 nights, First time Staying somewhere other than a hotel and was a bit apprehensive, but no need as it was absolutely amazing from start to finish.Welcome drinks, the most comfortable bed with excellent quality bedding , the tasteful decor and Space made it such a relaxing few days. Towels and Bathrobes are the most fluffy ones I've ever seen and the lovely toiletries and scents round the room just made it the perfect stay. Breakfast was just superb , I had a different one each morning and each one was as good as the previous one, my six year old wanted French toast with strawberry and Nutella each morning , it wasn't on the menu but Scott the host cooked her one each day, and in her word "the yummiest ever" We had Netflix and YouTube on the TV which was great for nighttime when you have been on the beach all day which is literally a few minute walk from The Carrick. I would highly recommend this place , the hosts have got it down to a T. And we will be back !!!!
