As visitors to Banbridge N.I my wife and I were taken to the Downshire Arms Hotel for a Sunday Roast, all I can say it was well worth the visit and would definitely return, the place is spotless and there is a very warm feeling to it.

Delighted meal catching up with a friend. Great sunday lunch of turkey and ham with plenty of fresh vegetable selection. Followed by an old childhood favourite of mine creamed rice pudding with nutmeg. The dining room truly embodies great character and a relaxing ambience. We will return soon. Thank you!

This was a return visit to the Downshire having stayed there a few years ago. Pleased to see that the same personal touch is very present. We eat in the dining room and one of the bar men suggested we try the steaks as the hotel was renowned for them. We were not disappointed - really tasty with great portions...

The family and a group of friends had our Christmas get to get her here, 3rd dec 16. It was extremely busy and full of many loud people. The food was generally ok although, some portions were small (the prawn starter to name one). The Christmas pudding was awful, brown instead of black and tasted worse than it looked. When...

Tonight we decided to go out for dinner and decided to try the downshire again. We both like it as the food is always good, however like the last time we were let down by poor service. I had to get up and ask for a menu and then had to get up and ask could we be served. The...

We ate in the very comfotable restaurant. Attentive and professional service. Our food was excellent and well presented. However we decided we might like a cheeseboard rather than dessert. The response, we have run of cheese!. Now maybe i am wrong but a cheeseboard normally has 4 or 5 varieties on the plate. So had they run out of every...

Visited Downshire Hotel for lunch with my daughter last Saturday. Although very busy we were offered a table quickly. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Meal arrived and was beautifully presented. Large portion size and cooked to perfection. Could not fault at all and would definitely return again soon!

We had an overnight stay here and the hotel took us back in time. It's an old staging post that has been tastefully spruced up, but retains most of it's character. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast served was a typical Ulster fry. The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. We had a room at the front,...
