This hotel is a 10/15 minute walk to the town centre. There is ample free parking. Our room was in the annex and was very large with super King size bed, very comfortable. The shower is over the bath and one gel is supplied as shampoo and shower gel all in one. Good selection of tea/coffee and biscuits and the... More

Stayed one night, had a meeting early the following morning. Did not arrive until 2am. Night porter was extremely helpful, which was appreciated considering the time of night and the fact that I had just done a 4 hour drive. Breakfast was excellent. After our meeting we headed back to the Lodge Hotel for lunch, which again was excellent. Cannot... More

Had a large family meal here in one of the function rooms. The food was fantastic, with everyone really happy with meal choice. Excellent and friendly staff. We have been here a few times and will be back again. Great location Highly recommended

It was only an overnight stay, but would have been more than happy to stay here longer had I been working up north longer. The reception is still a bit early 90s influenced in its decor, but I dont actually see that as a bad thing! The hotel staff are its greatest asset - supremely welcoming and helpful ( I... More

I've stayed at the Lodge before and again it is up to it's usual high standards. Service is second to none and the staff are so pleasant and courteous and nothing is a bother. They had two weddings on over the course of the weekend that I stayed so they were busy. I stayed in the annex this time and... More

We called on Sunday without booking as a family of 6 with 2 kids. Seated quickly and the service was good and the carvery was lovely. Do not usually like carverys as they are often tasteless but this was not the case. Great selection of food and lovely range of desserts. Will be coming back.

I stayed her for a pool tournament for 4 days and had no problems whatsoever, staff friendly, room clean and an excellent breakfast. I did eat in the restaurant one night and it was if good standard. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

I stayed here before departing to a family wedding nearby and from start to finish ever aspect was spot on. Easy check in. Well located. Very clean. Friendly staff. Very comfortable room and good size. Excellent quality breakfast. My only fault was parking could do with a few more spaces other than that no dramas.

Thank you for your lovely review and I am glad you enjoyed everything during your stay. With regards to extra parking, I do agree on busy weekends our car parking spaces do get used up quickly. But just to clarify for other guests who may be concerned we have just over 160 spaces. Thanks again and hope to see you... More

Sunday Carvery Lunch in the Lodge Hotel is the best I've ever visited - and I've visited quite a few. We go about three or four times a year and are never disappointed.
