Just back from a two night stay in the Black Lions guest house. Very clean and breakfast were top class staff are nice and friendly parking was ok but look out for the drop curb as it is tight coming back in. If we need to stay in the area this would be our first port of call.

Good location with plenty of amenities near by., good breakfast, clean and excellent value. 100% would stay there again. The guest house is located in a quite area of Birkenhead. I would not hesitate in recommending anyone to stay there.

We stayed for two nights at this guest house. We found our welcome both friendly and warm from the owner Nick. He gave us some hints and tips for where to eat locally and some advice on our trip to Liverpool Anfield stadium. The rooms were clean and spacious although the decor was a little dated but still fitted in...

I was visiting Birkenhead, to meet my Son, and found The Black Lions Guest House. I was lucky to have discovered it. The hotel is situated on the New Chester Road, in Rock Ferry. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I arrived very early. I was dreading having to ask if my room was ready at 10.30 a.m, but Nick,...

This has been a hard review to put together. On one hand, our host, Nick, was extremely pleasant, knowledgable and very helpful. On the other hand, however, our twin room en suite was an absolute disgrace. I noticed the toilet brush holder looked rather dirty and then I made the mistake of lifting up the brush and there was actual...
