Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Classical style of furniture, friendly, sensitive and personal approach, sense of humour, very welcoming manners leave no wishes & desires unfufilled. I shouldn't tell this in public in case anyone's future booking might thwart my next booking! But I feel I can't hide it... Axel, Germany

Deirdre was a great host. Kindly helped us get our bearings for our evening in Portrush. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. A lovely little B&B for a weekend break. Would highly recommend it.

We stayed five nights and it was spectacular. The host were so gracious and the breakfast was out of this world with so many choices. We used our stay to see all the sites near Port Stewart. You must eat at the Villa. Superb food and choices. The rooms were nice sized and very clean.

Stayed here three nights.. Deidre and paddy were very welcoming and most helpful with any questions we had.. very homely and clean. Breakfast was tasty and nicely served by Natalia, who alway had a lovely greeting for us in the morning.. good spot to get to places from and a 25 min walk to the town is just right after a long day in the car.. or a taxi is only a few pounds if u don’t fancy the stroll. Went to three great resturant the Atlantic pub, Harry shack and Amici. Lots of excellent ice cream and coffee places too down the Main Street.. A bit quieter that portRush but only a 10 min drive away from there by car so very glad we chose to stay here in Portstewart ,as Portrush was very busy.. Enjoy my stay immensely

Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and the surrounding area. Yes Portstewart is more quieter and relaxed than Portrush but just 3 mile apart. If you take the shortcut you can walk from The Oregon to the main promenade and sea front in 15 mins but we are happy to leave guests into promenade, but taxis is very cheap also. We are really spoiled for choice with lovely restaurants. I hope you will have the opportunity to visit again sometime. Kind Regards Deirdre & Paddy

I have just returned from the 148th Open Championship at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland. My office had booked me in to the Oregon Guest House in Portstewart, a mere 8 mins away. It was bought by Deirdre and Paddy McCann in 2015 and they are outstanding hosts. Deirdre worked in the Health Service for over 30 years and when she retired, wanted to do something different. Paddy is a Chef who has worked in different parts of the world and after living in Portstewart for 20 years, they knew the Oregon well. It had been built by an American gentleman from Oregon and was built in the American style with spacious rooms and they have 7 letting bedrooms. It’s not just the building, but the warmth of the welcome one receives. Paddy cooks breakfast to die for and after the

As we were booking our trip to Ireland, we decided last minute to add in Northern Ireland for a couple days. We found this treasure on Google and so glad we did! The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. They told us local places to see and a helped us find a place to worship. Deidre and her husband even called ahead before our trip to make sure I had the gluten-free products I was expecting. They had the BEST coffee of our entire trip to Ireland! The rooms are a bit small, but the hospitality, location, and food surely make up for it. The grounds are decorated with cute little animal statues. Our favorite stop in all of Ireland!

We found Oregon B&B is situated on the outskirts of Portstewart late in the evening and our hosts were very welcoming. Our bedroom was very well appointed and the whole experience was like home from home.

We fell in love with this place and the delightful owner Deidre. Such a warm welcome and a great chat about the area and what to see/ where to eat, she even offered to drive us to the pub, such a sweetheart. Our room was so cute and a time warp into the 70’s. The owners specifically wanted to keep the original features of what used to be the main bedroom and bathroom of the man that built the house 50 years ago and I am so happy they did! It was so comfortable, quiet and kitsch in the most glorious way and there was a view into the cute garden with a fascinating tree. Ask for room 4 and you will love it! We wish we could have stayed longer.

Extremely friendly and helpful hosts, great off street parking, a casual atmosphere, plenty to eat, a large room with an enormous ensuite a good place to spend a few nights in a wonderful area of northern Ireland. It's not right in the town so you either drive or catch a cab (cheap to do) when it's mealtime. Our great hosts drove us 1 night to the recommended restaurant.

Yes we are only a 15 minute walk to the promenade but is means as you say we have great off street parking and it is very quiet at night so everyone can get a peaceful sleep, ready for the next day adventure.
