Detailed Reviews
Having stayed in a few CAMC sites Longleat has definitely raised the bar.
Arriving at reception we were greeted with friendly smiles and full information on the site and its facilities.
We enquired about visiting Longleat and was pleasantly surprised on how close the 2nd entrance was. ( 5 min walk)
Sandra gave is all the information needed from buying ticket’s, best times to book the safari bus instead of taking the MH in, where to sit on the bus for the best view, visit g the house and the VR Dinosaur experience.
We were so close we could pop back to campsite for lunch and could hear the sea lions throughout the day.
Longleat site Facilties are excellent they have a family games rooms with table tennis, snooker and board games with an outside area with giant droughts and Boules.
The showers and toilets were immaculate as was the laundry room . The exterior is very well kept and the wardens were out everyday cutting, strimming and cleaning.
Bin areas were cleared every day
The staff are lovely and will stop and chat giving helpful advice.
A shame we found it so late in the season. Great site for all ages.

I went for our final camping trip of the year. On arrival the weather was very poor, but thankfully one of the site team came over and offered to help. I was very grateful. Excellent service! The site, toilets and showers etc were spotless and the showers had plenty of hot water.
If you are going membership of Longleat Safari might be a good idea as it pays for itself after 3 days. Wifi is'nt very good and 4g is non-existent so download plenty of TV/Films for the kids and bring a book.
Campers were nice and quiet but the owls and the Sea Lions haven't read the camp rules! ;-)

Brilliant campsite. Staff are friendly. Facilities are brilliant and very clean. They offer a baby/toddler room which is brilliant with a small bath, small toilet and low sink. Pitches are spacious with adequate space for an awning and parking on site. The toilet and shower blocks are clean and spacious. The shower cubicles offer hooks and low level shelf with mixer taps. There are lots of drinking water taps, recycling bins and waste water around the site. Dishwashing facilities are also clean.
The access to Longleat is brilliant by car and by foot. You can hear the sea lions during the day. Od recommend this site and will be visiting again.

We stayed at the site for two nights so we could go to Longleat. On arrival the reception and booking in very easy. We were not placed on a pitch but were told to find one that suited us. This was done fairly easily, but took a while to drive around looking for a pitch we wanted.
We were given wrist bands for use in the toilets/showers, this is an absolutely great idea, but did prove a bit difficult at times. The shower/toilets are together and so the system was that you hung your band on a hook outside, only two people were allowed in at one time. The site team had blocked off toilets and showers to ensure social distancing and so it meant in our block (and the others were the same) only two people were allowed in at any one time, so at peak times if two people were showering then no one could use the loo. It would have been better if it was two in the loos and two in the showers to ensure there were not too long a queue. I know this are difficult times and people had their own facilities to use however a little tweak may improve this. Also, I felt the shower/toilets were not particularly clean, only cleaned once a day and with only two toilets in the block being used, they got a lot of use, as with the showers.
The site itself is surrounded by trees, is a great family site.
As advertised we did hear the lions at night, and the sea lions during the day. It is a great location for Longleat, there is no mobile phone access and I purchased wifi which was no good as it was so slow, but sometimes time away from your phone can be an advantage.
All in all, a great location, nicely set out site and if they could improve the toilet/showers would be perfect.

This was a surprise camping trip for my partners sisters 7th birthday. It was an absolutely amazing trip! From arriving to leaving we had the best time, it was so lovely to just be away somewhere different. The workers we saw on site were very friendly and polite. The facilities were immaculate and just perfect for a camping trip, fully working toilets showers, laundry, dishwasher room, games room etc. Signal is not fantastic if you don't buy the WiFi however, it was just so nice to be away from our phones for the 4 nights. We went to longleat whilst we were here and couldn't believe how close the park was. Every night and day we heard the seals, lions and wolves. It was unbelievable! The noise levels were so minimal, everyone was respectful and quiet from 22:00 onwards. There is a pub at the start of the road down to the site, and the food in there was lovely, well worth the money. The site is close to a lot of places such as longleat, mini golf, an asda superstore, retail park and farm shops. Honestly cannot fault this park and will definitely return again, 5 stars all day long.

This is a lovely campsite. Lots of space, and lots of trees around each well maintained pitch. It's like being in a forest. Facilities are good and plentiful, and the site staff are helpful.
Only 4 stars for the following reasons, and I accept some of them are outside the control of the park owners.
Approach road is single vehicle width for much of it, plenty of passing places, but beware if you are a new or inexperienced driver.
Lack of wifi, and 4g signal poor. There is wifi on site, but you can only get it in certain locations (I found i could only get a WiFi signal outside the lodge). 4g is fine if you walk 100 yards or so towards Longleat House.
Speakimg of which, Longleat House is well worth a visit, there is a lot to do, but it's not a cheap ticket so make the most of it. However, for the caravanners on site, there is a seal lion in the lake which barks until 11 in the evening, and starts at 4 in the morning. Earplugs required!

First time at this site. Well kept by a team of friendly and helpful wardens although some of the facilities do get a bit grotty by the time the next cleaning session comes round. This is the first time I have been at a CAMC site where it was particularly noticeable that the dishwashing areas were often not cleaned after use - this was very disappointing to see and a reflection on a new breed of caravanners brought on by the pandemic. Let’s hope they can go back to their all inclusives in Costa del sol next year.
GREAT for children and ours made lots of friends in the park and whizzing around on their bikes - those who think that this is a nightmare would be better off choosing a site that isn’t adjacent to a major tourist attraction geared at families…..
Lucky enough to hear the sea lions, wolves and Lions on quite a few occasions during the week that we were there
Avoid the pitches that are alongside the access road as it is used by Longleat Safari Park staff from 7am driving back and forth in agricultural vehicles which you can’t really sleep through if you want a lie in!
Easy access to Longleat, you could probably sneak in for free between 5pm and 6pm. There is a nice 4 mile bike ride around the estate, but best done before 9.30am and after 6pm as it gets awfully busy.
As well as Longleat, would recommend Bath (use the Park and Ride at Odd Down), Stourhead and Stonehenge - all within 20 miles of the site.

We stayed at this park on the first weekend that they reopened after lockdown. We had a lovely friendly welcome and the warden showed us to our pitch. There were only two tents on the site that weekend so it was nice and quiet and the kids had the tent field and under the trees to play, which was lovely. The facilities were very clean and they had a great system to use the toilets and showers where you were given a wristband and had to hang it outside the toilets on one of the two pegs. If both pegs had a wristband on you had to wait until somebody came out. Great idea and worked really well. It’s lovely to hear the sea lions from Longleat and we would stay again if you’re staying long right. My only moan is that they wouldn’t allow us to keep our car there for an hour after we taken our tent down just to pop into Longleat, the lady in reception was rude, I didn’t feel it would make a difference if we left our car, it wasn’t like there was hundreds of tents pitched, all of the tent parking spaces were free and we weren’t asking to stay all day.

Stayed here for 6 nights during summer holidays. Site was not overly busy allowing you to pick you pitch. Site wardens are all friendly and there to help. Toilets and showers were always spotless. The site is set in a wooded area with hardstand on each pitch, tip take rock pegs. Great place to stay for Longleat, cheddar, Frome.

The women on reception was very abrupt with no people skills. A few of our family members stayed here also and they were told to pick where they wanted to pitch. We had been told we couldn't pitch nearby unless we paid for an upgrade which we did and the worker told us which pitch to go to.
When she signed us in she forgot to give us a keyfob ( or even mention it) to get in and out of the gate. Which we didn't know about until we went to pop out the following day.
No one was at reception and it was closed, we drove around the site looking for a worker to no avail we also called the number provided but no answer so left a message, lastly (20 minutes after Searching) I found a Longleat worker who directed me to the workers caravan.
I stood outside the gate as I didn't want to intrude but shouted hello is anyone there. I did this three times before entering the gate. I then again said hello as I did two dogs began barking and a different women and a man came out of the caravan and the women very aggressively said what do you think you are doing walking into this area, this is my living quarters.
I apologised and tried to explain but was still met with rudeness and they stated that I would have been given a keyfob and I must have lost it etc. The male then said let's see shall we and we began walking to the reception (to try and prove I had been given the keyfob ) he then said " you are lucky the dogs didn't bite you! I didn't enter the caravan or the awning but stood outside, I just wanted to leave the site! I stayed in silence still shocked that I had been shouted at and trying to process everything
The man then said oh yea it's here and gave me the key fob that I should have been given on check in but was still hostile and tried to suggest I was at fault for not collecting the keyfob( I wasn't told about any keyfob)
Every interaction Myself or my husband had even prior to this with the staff was met with rudeness and or poor customer service skills. It upset me that much i just wanted to go home.
I complained to the camping and caravan club about this but of course nothing was done.
Other things to notes .
Traffic to the Longleat safari park is loud starting around 6am.
No reception and WIFI very poor only good thing was that the toilet facilities are clean.
Wish I read the reviews before going. I suggest staying elsewhere
