Safe and effective multistory car park over the road from the hotel, check-in was a breeze with very friendly staff and the room was well presented with ample beverage support.
The breakfast was the perfect prep for the next day globetrotting the peak district.
The olny gripe would be that the freeview channels on the TV were not up to date, lacking for instance GB News, which has been around for at least two years and is a must-watch for the far-right viewer!

We booked a family room for an overnight stay; we literally just needed somewhere to sleep and you can always rely on a Premier Inn to meet all requirements. The room was clean, warm, quiet and comfortable. The receptionist was friendly, welcoming and helpful in our quest to find somewhere to park.

The hotel is very central to Chesterfield and well positioned for shopping and/or exploring the local area.

As strangers to Chesterfield, the only negatives we can highlight are that the hotel was a little tricky to locate given that it is on a one way system and there is no parking available on the hotel premises which isn't entirely surprising for a town centre location. We were directed to a secure multi storey car park where you can park for 24 hours at a cost of £6.00. However, we lucked out because the pay machines were broken and parking was free during our stay.

A further bonus was that we entered our room to discover that we had been selected as "guests of the day" and had been gifted wine and chocolate!

There's nothing to not like about Premier Inn and Chesterfield Town Centre Premier Inn did not disappoint.

It’s a pretty big standard Premier Inn- you know what you’re going to get! Decent size rooms, comfy beds etc. Loved having air con control for the room temp. Very quiet, almost no noise heard at all except a little in the morning when the cleaners were working their way round, but nothing intrusive.
Staff all appeared very happy, gave tips on places to eat and visit.
Felt very covid secure.
It has no dedicated car park but there is a public one across the road- £6/24 hours and is the most secure car park I’ve ever seen!
Would definitely return.

Stayed for 2 nights whilst exploring the Peak District, good central location with easy access to many local sights and you can step out of the hotel straight into the town centre. Car parking at Saltergate just a couple of minutes walk away is extremely secure for £6/24 hours.

Friendly staff, everything as expected, nice and quiet, very reasonably priced.

Two minor niggles - a couple of very long, dark hairs on the duvet cover and a leaky shower screen which caused a bit of a puddle on the bathroom floor. Apart from that all good.

I used to live in Chesterfield and due to the pandemic, hadn't been over to see friends since just before Christmas 2019. I needed a cheap family room for myself, partner and my 2 children. This ironically used to be the Co-Op Department store so it was a bit strange coming here to stay knowing I used to come shopping here!! It is a welcome and pleasant surprise having such a well located and cost effective hotel on this site. The rooms were adequately sized for us for our 2 night stay. The 42 inch TV was a good size however when connecting to the wifi via the TV it didn't work so found I kept having to connect to the free hotel WiFi manually as every time we left the hotel it would go off. The beds were comfy and the blackout curtains worked really well as we slept in both mornings until about 8.30!!! Power shower was good and free hair/body wash was provided however there were some down points which meant sadly I couldn't give this a 5. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling on my side of the bed and there was a huge mark on the wall which should have been wiped off if the room had been cleaned adequately. There was no power point in the bathroom for an electric shaver or toothbrush to charge up so had to charge my electric toothbrush up in the bedroom which was irritating as the flashing light disrupted my sleep. There needed to be a proper handrail to hold onto when getting in or out of the shower as it was a bit slippy and my partner ended up holding onto the towel rail near the bath but was scared of pulling it off the wall. There wasn't enough cups glasses or tea, coffee or milk and several times had to get extra. The car park is at the top of the road but just a word of caution, the doors/shutters are closed until you take your ticket from the machine and approach the car park. Don't do what we did and drive off thinking it wasn't open!!!! It is a reasonable £6 for up to 24 hours to park there and is one of the better multi storey car parks my OH has used. This is a lovely place to stay in when coming to visit friends in Derbyshire and compared to the Travelodge which was more expensive and not in the town centre this was a gem. We didn't eat in the hotel but there are lots of cafes nearby which serve breakfast. We went to the Portland Hotel on West Bars which was about a 5 minute or so walk . The breakfast was hot, good quality and the free refills on the hot drinks was good value. Can recommend Indian Blues!!!

Before we arrived at the hotel we received a message saying we couldn't have the evening meals we had booked because they didn't have enough staff. On arriving at the hotel at 3pm the fire alarm was constantly going off, we were advised to go for a walk till it was fixed (not what you want after a long journey). At 9 o'clock we arrived back to find less noise, reception said the alarm wasn't fixed but they had disabled all the rooms but not to worry they had whistles and mega phones incase a fire occured, they would get us out. You can imagen we didn't sleep at all. At 9.30pm we decided to have a relaxing hot bath after the horrible day, guess what no hot water as the boilers had to be re-set after the problem with the alarm. Eventually at 11pm hot water appeared (far too late). At breakfast the next morning we could still hear the alarm in the office all the way through which was annoying. We felt really sorry for the staff who tried their best but this is a Premier Inn problem and found out on checking out that we couldn't get a refund from them had to go online which is useless. We always book Premier Inn's as you are assured what you are getting, not in this case.

The premier inn was great, room very clean and staff where extremely friendly and great with my 2 year old daughter. Room very comfortable, everything we needed was provided. Ideal central location close to shops with secure parking 1 min walk from premier inn costing £5 over night. Breakfast was very good and cooked fresh to order also the restaurant in the evening was very good and reasonably priced.

This is an excellent clean and affordable hotel. Slap bang in the centre of town within a 5 minute walk of a safe and secure car park..........at £5.00 per 24 hours this is fantastic value for money. The hotel is modern, comfortable and the rooms are very reasonably priced.

I stayed here for only 1 night on business. It is a new hotel, very clean and tidy. Rooms are of usual high standard.. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast excellent and friendly staff.
The car park is very secure and would recommend at Salter Gate- £5.00 for 24 hours is very reasonable.
Lots of restaurants nearby

As the name tells you this Hotel is in the town centre. It's quiet easy to drive there and park at the Saltergate Multi-story then just walk across the road to the hotel in the town centre. The hotel is good value for money, however being in the centre of town next time I'll skip breakfast at the hotel and choose one of the many cafes in the town centre.

Hi, anyone used the new multi-storey car park. Can you park day 1 and pay on exit day 4?

Agree with thiftycatz. Easy to use, secure & clean. It was £6 a day when we used it but we left each day. Wouldn’t have thought it would be a problem. If you have searched it on the internet the confusion might stem from they do some sort of weekly pass but it’s really straight forward in reality.
