Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Such a lovely campsite and we managed to have a nice quiet meadow to ourselves. The location is great! Not far from the local village so it's a nice short walk for some food and a drink. Lovely, friendly owners who provided firewood which made our winter camping trip so fun and less cold! All the facilities were so clean. Thanks for having us

Fantastic semi-wild site. Quiet site for winter camping and walking trip. Most of facilities were closed which was fine for our needs. Enjoyed a whole meadow to ourselves. Great pub a short distance away and fantastic walk through Lathkill Dale. Will definitely be returning in the summer as enjoyed the site and location so much.

We were so happy to stumble across this site and discover they had availability! The pitches are perfect and facilities are spot on. We will definitely be coming back again before the year is out. What a beautiful area! Lovely village and stunning scenery lending itself to wonderful walks! Thanks so much to the owners of the campsite for accommodating us at the last minute. As relatively new campers, we decided to ‘wing it’ and see what we could find. And find we did! Highly recommended!

What a treat! Garry’s campsite at Lathkill Dale is beautiful, clean and spacious. We were able to call in to ask about last minute camping spots, and Garry found us a spot. So dearly enjoyed exploring the Peak District from this gorgeous part of the region.

Good location as regards village and walks. No views. Site in need of some attention as many places overgrown and full of nettles. Hard standing not really hard standing (in a motorhome). Facilities basic but clean. Showers unpredictable in temperature. Not enough drinking water taps. Noisy after 10pm. The quiet rule not enforced. (Country music after midnight!)

Hi Janis We are disappointed that you were disappointed. If only you had said something to us during your 3 days stay. We do have lovely pitches on our top meadows and could have moved you to one of those, hardstanding and great views 😀 Again sorry you didn't find the temperature controlled showers located around the site , these stay at a set temperature unlike the electric adjustable ones i think you used. As we have mentioned before Lathkilldale Campsite is part of 100 acre nature focused Peak District hill farm and as such we really don't mind having wild areas around . You may have read our other reviews complimenting the great job maintenance does of keeping things tidy. Sorry we didn't fit what you needed on this occasion. Happy camping 🏕

A great campsite with good facilities and an excellent location (good pub, cafe and walks on the doorstep). Plenty of established vegetation, good communication with campsite owners........would highly recommend.

Our second visit to this lovely campsite. Staff are friendly and accommodating - going out of their way to help. We went with another family and between us had a large private pitch with picnic benches and plenty of space. The facilities are plentiful (no queues for showers) and well maintained. There is beautiful walking straight from the campsite and the pub in Monyash is fab too (great food, huge portions and large playground). We would definitely stay here again.

Love Lathkill Dake campsite. Great pitches and amenities. Near the pub and cafe and a lovely walk down the Dale. Owners were really helpful. Lent us an electric adaptor. Saw lots of stars. My favourite campsite!
