We were staying down the road from here so made sure to pay a visit before and after the local walking routes. Unfortunately we only had drinks here, the menu is fairly bland and was over priced. I would advise people to walk a little further into Little Longstone or Great Longstone and hit a local venue for better quality...

Staff were friendly. Hotel in great location, beautiful views. Food was excellent in restaurant and stables bar next door. Bed was clean and comfortable, windows had drafts, storage heated rooms. Very dated rooms need refurb.

We hosted our wedding here. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. The food was great and even allowed for people with bizarre food preferences. We booked out all the rooms for the wedding party and found them charming and exactly what you'd expect at an inn of this type. The staff were super helpful with recommending florists and other...

Great view along Monsal Dale and the old railway line, sadly now only a route for walkers, cycles and horses, but no longer echoing to the sound of crack expresses to and from London and...

We had a wonderful walk on NY's Day from Monsal Head, to Shackleton Woods , Ashford in the Water and back . We have eaten in the Stables Bar many times...cosy and usually good. We decided to eat in the Hotel ( 3rd time ) and given a table.... despite a large family group of over 20 people on two...

We parked in the long stay car park near the hotel as we were planning on talking a long walk with a treat of lunch at the Hotel. It has two restaurants one is called 'The Stable' and great for walkers and the other is in the main hotel which we didn't try. We timed our walk perfectly and stood...
