Had a nice lunch in the stable bar so I cannot comment on the hotel. The Stable Bar has about a dozen tables and old world charm, uneven stone floors and a log burner. The food was well presented and tasty, the cheese and pickle sandwiches at £6.75 which sounds a lot but they came with salad, vegetable crisps and...

Arriving late and leaving early did not give me much opportunity to sample the full delights but the room was very comfortable and the receptionist could not have been more helpful ensuring that some breakfast was available (I was leaving before the 8am breakfast start). Thumbs up all round.

After a lovely long walk on the Monsal Trail what better than a great place to eat or drink with your dog. The stable bar has some good assets. The long stay car park is right behind the hotel so very convenient. The bar is dog friendly for well behaved dogs, the building has great caracter with cobbled floor, stable...

Whilst out for a day walk our group called at the stable bar to the side of the hotel. The place was pretty busy but staff were still very nice and helpful. I only had a coffee but can say it was nice place to shelter from the cold and have a drink. Recommended

We stay here several times a year, always in a room overlooking the Dale. We sit for hours looking at the view, watching the changing shadows as the clouds roll over or as the sun sets. Fascinated by the people who get out of their cars for 30 seconds to look down towards the viaduct. Yes, the rooms are terribly...

Having planned an anniversary walk/meal with my in laws we planned a meal at the Monsal Head Hotel. My wife emailed an enquiry in advance from their website but never received a response. This would normally rule somewhere out for us but as we were in the area still thought we would try. On arrival my wife asked if a...

Went here with friends for our friends birthday. Only one night away. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The meal was well cooked, tasty and well presented. Of the two rooms we had, room 5 seems to have been refurbished, lovely big shower and modern fittings. The bedroom had a new carpet and the bed was comfortable. The room...

Yummy lunch, we both had a Brie and bacon sandwich on brown bread with homemade crisps including beetroot, it was surprisingly lovely. Fantastic value. Prices were good, the service was fast. I fancied a pudding but couldn't fit one in
