We finally made it after 2 years of Covid and wasn’t disappointed This is a lovely old house with lots of character The kitchen is really well equipped with 2 ovens and 2 fridge/freezers with everything you need for a big family get together The rooms are really well proportioned with baths and showers galore the bedrooms were all clean and tidy The hot tub and sauna garden area is well lit so you can use it in the evening - there were extra towels for the hot tub and sauna toO We had 7 cars and had lots of room for parking I honestly couldn’t fault the property and Marilyn and Dave were excellent hosts - we’ll definitely be back
We have stayed here twice before and given 5 star reviews each time so we were all very excited at the prospect of getting the whole family together again for Christmas. However, we were shocked at the very poor standard of maintenance and cleanliness since we were last here. Freezer not working, no sharp knives, dirty serving dishes, smelly tea-towels, basin plugholes blocked with hair, stained duvet cover, dirty baths, bags of dogfood in one wardrobe, faulty lights etc. You get the picture. As it was Christmas Eve, we didn't report this until after we left (but took many photos to show the problems). Even more disappointed by the delayed and very casual response from the owners. Robertswood remains an ideal venue for a famly gathering, but I won't be staying there again until I see some real evidence that they have got their act together.…
A wonderful place to have all the family together. Great communication through out and the house itself was perfect. Couldnt fault it. Kitchen had everything needed and other rooms were fantastic as were bedrooms. Garden out front was well kept and lovely in the summer evening.
We all loved Robertswood House and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cooking was easy in the large, well equipped kitchen and it was great that we could all sit round the big table in the dining room. The bar was a real hit and proved the ideal spot for our ‘pub quiz’ on Saturday, and is just a great social space to gather. The bedrooms were all comfortable and clean and it’s really handy that all have en-suite bathrooms. I’d also recommend the Sycamore Inn where we ate on Friday evening. The service and food was excellent (especially the steak pie which was delicious) and only a 6 minute walk away. I’d certainly recommend Robertswood House, we’ll definitely be back.
